This woman is the worse hospitalist ever. If your loved one is assigned to her by your HMO Anthem/Optum; prognosis is 100% death or them being senile for life. She will assemble a team of doctors to prescribe Haldol (Haloperidol), an antipsychotic and broad based antibiotics like Vancomycin. After one week, my loved one was barely able to stay awake and fraily weak. At admittance, I kept telling the Huntington Health Hospital doctors and nurses that past diagnoses were possible cancer. Instead Dr. Hay and her team of doctors kept searching for random infections like Bartonella or allegeries. After 2 whole weeks, lymphoma was finally diagnosed. By that time, my loved one was too sick to receive any chemotherapy or antibody treatment due to. The 2 week lag caused atrial afibrillation and cardiac arrest. After resuscitation, the 4-6 weeks that followed were for nothing. My loved one's lymphoma cancer had metastasized to all her internal organs and central nervous system. In addition she was semicomatosed due to all the random medication, cardiac arrest and antibiotics. The result was endless pressure for "Do Not Resuscitate" and my mother ended up dying from internal organ failure and bleeding.

Dr Castilla is great! Problem is the staff Optum uses is less than competent. Every month I have problems getting my medication through their portal, a phone call, and a written email. I've given them 24 months to no avail. No improvement. A doctor on staff even wrote the WRONG prescription with all the above information in front of him. The type of medication that could've killed me if I didn't notice. I've NEVER in all my 64 years been treated so badly by any healthcare provider or any other entity for that matter. I was with Dr Cabasso for over twenty years. Not one mistake was ever made and I saw him monthly. His staff (Arlene) was always professional and she never made a mistake either. True healthcare professionals. If you want risky healthcare then by all means join the Optum version of it. If you want quality healthcare then I suggest you steer clear of Optum Arcadia.

Dr Mandeep Singh is a great primary care physician. She takes her time and really listens to my concerns. She speaks to me like an adult and involves me in my healthcare decisions. Front office: Lasette who is in charge of referrals and scheduling is amazing! She not only checked and re-checked my referrals she also called me back to give me updates. I never requested a call back but she is just very thorough! I feel so confident in my assessment of this medical establishment I've even brought my 2 daughters over as patients when they aged out of their pediatricians care. I couldn't like this Optum group any more! Front office (Lasette) A+, Dr. Mandeep A+, Optum Care A+

Healthcare Partners before Optum was a great place. I have very little good to say about Optum. The doctors are overworked and admit it. I collapsed on a plane followed by ER appt. and wanted a follow up appointment soon after with MD--no call back. I needed a referral for colposcopy--instead got a referral to a dematologist (?). Time to change to another medical group.

This was the last straw. They cancelled my appointment for next week and never notified me. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't gone for my bloodwork, which they had no orders for either. I was told there would be orders there. I would have taken time off work without pay since I am new to the job. This is totally unacceptable. Then they reschedule my appointment supposedly for the same day but later in the day, so I don't have to miss work, and I saw they entered it for the wrong day. I cancelled and will not be going back there. I will try another office. I don't expect much difference though, since Optum took over, it really went downhill in patient care. Takes forever to get an appointment months in advance, then they cancel without notice. I definitely will be looking for other options for medical care when open enrollment comes. I don't expect a reply to this as I have seen numerous replies from them and theyy are all the same, please call blah blah blah. Still nothing changes.

I've always loved Healthcare Partners / Optum for the fast service etc. The doctors are great for the most part. My issue is with the staff which is usually the reception areas in internal and where you get your blood drawn. Almost every time I go now they are gossiping about other staff members or super loud and inappropriate. Somehow when one person calls it's like they never spoke to their other team members. They're always confused, or it's the third call with the same information I already received etc years ago I had a person who was "shadowing" being trained go in the system and find my number and started texting me. I was too young then to know the protocols and Hippa violations. The staff needs more guidance on professionalism.

Two words- Optum sucks!! I wish I could give ZERO stars. I like my doctor but the whole system is completely unacceptable. Things were MUCH better before when it was Healthcare Partners. Their phone system does not route to the proper department, you can't get an appointment in a timely manner, your health is held hostage because you can't get referrals in a timely manner or a second opinion which the insurance company allows, you are placed on hold for an hour plus to reach a human being. It's been so bad that my insurance company who initiated a conference call to them asked to file a grievance against them. The BS patient portal doesn't even work properly. It does not display messages that your physician sent you so now you have to call and try to connect to a human being to see if there was a message and what it was. Then they ask you to call technical support on top of the medical issues you're actually dealing with. It is not my responsibility to have to deal with technical issues. This is 2023 in America and we can't have this many problems with a medical group.

Good doctors, but the wait to get in is unacceptable. Made a follow appointment with the podiatrist, I'm having problems with the toe he operated on, and the earliest he can see me is 3 months. Just too long for me. They need more doctors on staff.

Very difficult to get an appointment in a timely manner. If you're sick with any of the Covid symptoms, don't even bother calling. They will not see you at all, and will direct you to go to urgent care.

i should have read reviews BEFORE I chose this Optum location. 3 1/2 weeks ago, I asked for a referral for a dermatologist. i left on a 16 day vacation and when I got back...NO referral was received! I called and left a message ...which I know was not the office but their answering service! i told her I was mad and that I want my referral! she was polite and said that she would relay the message and someone would call me back. NO...NO ONE CALLED ME!! called again and operator instructed me to call the office receptionist and told me how to get thru to them. NO....no one answered the phone there!!! I called several times and could not get thru!!! still NO CALLBACK...NO REFERAL!! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! it's easier to change offices and doctors than keep calling these inept people who work here!!!

My husband and I absolutely adore Dr. Trang Eng! She takes the time to listen to all our concerns and includes us in our treatment plans. She went over all of our labs, carefully explaining where we are vs. what the acceptable numbers are. She then asked if we had any other questions or concerns for her. She has a fabulous bedside manner and truly cares, never making us feel like we're being rushed through! The front office staff is always very friendly and helpful too. This is becoming rare lately! Don't let them go elsewhere, they deserve a raise!! Our podiatrist Dr. Lilly Lin is also an absolute Gem! She's smart and also very caring. She's been treating my planter fasciitis and has performed 2 foot surgeries for my husband. We are very pleased with their care and won't go elsewhere!! Worth driving in from Pasadena...

Love this place and all the staff. Would recommend them to others. I was a new patient and they sent me all the paperwork ahead of time to complete and alleviate doing this at the office. Dr. Ho was attentive and listened to my list of items. I was happy with the care and overall experience.

This place is the worse! Poor bedside manners, not even close to reasonable care. Aware that perfect healthcare is not possible, but this doesn't even meet the minimum care standards. Dr. Castilla and his staff (Gloria) are restricted by the insurances, I get it. But the lack of follow up, cooperatives, lack of personalized healthcare are rampant here. Dr. erroneously referred to the wrong specialist, takes 45-1hr just to speak with someone, only to have matter compounded by another Error. Then you call back and the Doctor is gone for the day. When your in excruciating pain, YET ITS NOT LIFE THREATENING, you're stuck with PCPs like this. Atrocious service and care.

Optum has an issue with those of us who meet our Out Of Pocket Maximum (OOP) for any calandar year and despite the insurance company telling them in fax, email and verbal over the phone MULITPLE times REFUSES to stop ILLEGALLY (HIPPA guidelines apply here) charging me a copayment I do not owe since mid March 2022, And just for fun: Optum has no records of any communication with me or Anthem Blue Cross (my insurance provider), Anthem has all their records of their communications with me and Optume with ID numbers and date/time stamps. Anthem has filed a grievance agaisnt Optum. For those who do not understand your insurance company's role: your insurance company is the one who pays your medical group to manage your care a pretty hefty dollar amount on a monthly basis (whether or not you see a doctor, it's called Capitation) to take care of your medical needs. For this to happen that medical group must be responcible enough to remain DELAGATED. IF they are proven to fail to manage the patients they are paid to manage, then that medical group can become DEDELAGATED and your insurance comany oversees EVERYTHING which means the medical group gets less money for your care since they are not able to properly manage you. This OOP is an issue I run into EVERY YEAR since having the amazing coverage I am gratefully blessed to have. I am not the only one to have these issues. I am one of the lucky ones to have a $500 annual out of pocket maximum that takes into accout not only Optum items but all my medications and mental therapy appointments as well. Generally, if you have a Commercial HMO insurance plan, all behavorial therapy is a carve out that only the insurance plan handles. Your medical group has nothing to do with that unless you have a Senior plan. All medictions are another carveout taken care of by your health plan, not your medical group who ONLY prescribes medications and if necessary takes care of the prior authorizations for some medications that require additional approval. Who am I other than just a patient having an issue? A retired healthcare worker in HMO for 30 years. I've done contracting, credentialling, provider relations, executive assistant and in the last 10 years of work I did LOA's, MOU's and was a programmer/analyst for Decision Support, Finance and Utilization Managemement. I also trained others and developed databases and manuals for others to use when needing a simple report for their own analysis. Iv'e done more than what is listed here for mulitple departments. Additionally, I am a past employee of Health Care Partners (HCP) who is now called Optum. Anthem pays Optum. Anthem also sends monthly data sets to Optum called EOB's (explanation of benefits). Optum runs their own EOB's every month and updates their information based on Anthem's. Last week I got another bill from Optum. I have called them in May, June, and July to let them know that they have already spoken to Anthem in April and the result was an official letter from Anthem stating I met my OOP maxium for the Calandar Year 2022 as of March 16, 2022. They still have no record of it as of July and still demand that Anthem get involved, AGAIN and AGAIN. Anthem has sent the letter and spoken to them on more than 3 seperate occasions. In late August I got another bill from Optum, this time I didn't want to waste more time with Optum so I called Anthem first and explained my frustation over this. Anthem called them. Again, Athem was told they HAVE TO REQUEST FROM OPTUM (who does not have all financial data for my care) A REPORT ON MY PAID CO-PAYMENTS? Anthem has already spent quite a bit of time and money for their employees to RE-do this request every time. DESPITE Anthem having already completeing this in April and sent the OFFICIAL LETTER to OPTUM in APRIL 2022??? This process took about 2 weeks back then and everytime I have called to correct Optum. Now I ask you, what kind of a$$ backwardds B$ is this? I think a class action law suit in order at this point for causeing so much stress and tra
