Starting with the Director Jacqueline and the Operations Manager Joyce, we are very pleased with their professionalism, knowledge and the ability to manage issues quickly. The Caregivers Araceli, Marian, Juliana and Edy are very dedicated. They genuinely care about their client's needs, health and provide updates in a timely manner. We are extremely happy with FirstLight Home Care.

Fist of all, I am impressed with Joyce, the Care Service Manager, who gave me a daily update on how my sister was doing. She would also ask for immediate help, when problems were encountered, so we could act on them promptly. She is indeed very efficient & extremely helpful.
As for the caregivers, they were really caring & very hardworking. They gave more than what were expected of them. This caregiving agency is highly commendable,

This is a good agency. Their coordinator, Joyce, is very responsive, and has come through for our family with some very sweet and qualified caregivers. More than one of the caregivers have said that they feel they are treated well by this agency. That says a lot.

FIRSTLIGHT home Care- Pasadena is the best. I would recommend anyone needing caretaking services to use this agency. JOYCE has been a delight to work with, she is patient, she is caring and has accommodated our family as we are new to this journey of finding care for my mom. JOYCE IS A GREAT PARTNER and her team of skilled / caring caretakers are top notch.

FirstLight has been providing compassionate and helpful caregivers for my mother's care for about 1-1/2 months. Joyce (Operations Manager) has been able to find excellent caregivers for their regular shifts as well as one-off coverage as it's cropped up (with a few days notice of course).
I thankfully recommend FirstLight for your caregivers needs!

FirstLight Home Care has been a savior for me as I needed part-time caregiving for my elderly mother. Joyce was fantastic at getting my mom set-up for care and pleasant and professional to speak with. She always keeps me informed in case there needs to be a substitute for Veronica who we just love. Joyce has been a blessing to us, she’s very accommodating and goes out of her way to make sure we’re happy. Their caregivers are always on time and super helpful from assisting with her personal care to light cleaning. I would recommend FirstLight, I’m very happy and so is mom.

The Operations Manager, Joyce, & the Director of Community Relations, Jacqueline, were pleasant & easy to work with. They were friendly, patient, and understanding throughout. We only required services for a short duration, but the caregivers were great for the time we had them.

Some of the ladies are very good with my Mother by helping her dress, toileting, and giving medication on time. They’re all polite and nice to her. Language has been a problem with some of the ladies. They nod like they understand but don’t.Or their English is very limited. None of them can prepare a meal from scratch that is tasty. Cooking classes would be highly recommended. Some of the ladies take initiative like watering plants, sweeping the walkway or doing laundry, while others you have to ask them before they do anything.

The care coordinator Joyce has been fabulous in making sure my Dad has the right caregiver coverage each day. When there are questions she is very quick to respond and helpful. 2 of the caregivers have been truly outstanding- Marian made Dad feel comfortable from Day 1! She had him engaged enjoying the activities she developed for him incorporating the exercises he needed to do each day. Bin is truly empathetic of Dad teaching me to better understand the rhythms of Seniors & their needs. Thank you FirstLight Home Care for being there for us each day! SK

We used FirstLight Home Care while my uncle's full-time caregiver took 4 weeks off to handle family business. My uncle has dementia but he is still very capable and very stubborn about not wanting help. I was very nervous, but FirstLIght was amazing from start to finish.
You can tell a lot about a service by the questions they ask to prepare for the care. Jackie contacted me with questions about my uncle's personality, his level of cognitive and physical abilities, his life and interests, and about his current caregiver. All of these things helped her find the caregivers that would work best with him. My uncle is very selective about who he is willing to let help him, and Jackie made me feel completely at ease in honestly voicing his needs.
Joyce is the care coordinator and she was very communicative about who would be coming to work with my uncle. She also set me up with family access to notes so that I could see what the caregivers did with my uncle throughout the day, what he ate, if he showered, and anything else I needed to know. Joyce followed up with me often to make sure we were happy with their services and that my uncle was doing well.
I am very busy with my own family and work, and I was very appreciative to FirstLight for taking care of all of my uncle's needs so that I wasn't stressed and burdened with worrying about him. We will definitely use them in the future when our caregiver needs a break.

The caregivers I have received for my mom have been very helpful and kind to her. The only complaint I have is that several caregivers do not show up on time. One time someone was an hour and a half late. Someone also left early before the shift was supposed to be completed. Another day it was so late in the morning that I cancelled help for that day. Unfortunately I feel like I can't always depend on having someone when needed.
Also, I have been given different caregivers over the last month and a half. This makes it awkward because I have to train someone different a few times a week on where mom's personal supplies are, how to prepare mom's breakfast, and where things are in the kitchen. I need consistency and reliability.
This whole experience has been frustrating more than pleasant. I may consider no longer having any caregivers and just try my best to care for my mom by myself. I do thank the manager for being sympathetic about my situation and for trying to accommodate for my needs.

I'm not a client of FirstLight HomeCare just yet, but I can't say enough good things about my experiences with them. Jacqueline came out to meet me and my mother who has Alzheimers when we started looking into all the alternatives for in-home and residential care. Jacqueline was so kind and knowledgeable. First she told me about Dispatch Health, a mobile urgent care, who I ended up calling a few weeks later when my mother developed pneumonia, and we couldn't get an appointment with her doctor for weeks. This home visit from Dispatch Health saved her life, and I never would have known about them without FirstLight and Jacqueline. Cut to a month later, and my mother's Alzheimer's has sadly progressed. Jacqueline called to followup on our in-home needs, I told her what was going on with my mom, and she recommended Angel Care - a palliative care company in Pasadena. I wasn't sure if my mother was a candidate for palliative/hospice care, but I met with them, they assessed her and now they have nurses, bathers, even a doctor coming to her home and treating her. What a godsend! Again, this is thanks to Jacqueline at FirstLight. She really, really cares about patients and their families.
