Self wash is so convenient and they have all the necessary tools. We were driving in from LA SF bound and stopped by to bathe the pups. My only complaint would be their automatic shampoo dispenser doesn't dispense shampoo that well and seems like your just rinsing pet in water. You're better off bringing in your own pet shampoo and conditioner.

These days it's hard to find someone who is helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the customer's overall satisfaction. I can't say thank you enough to the manager, Karen for taking the time to help answer my endless questions and recommending products even though the store was really busy. I had such a positive experience thanks to Karen I will no longer be shopping at other pet food express locations. Karen, thank you so much for all your help and for such a positive experience. My kitties are doing much better because of your suggestions

Excellent service by Paula, Jessica and Camarin! Came in to purchase some JFFD DIY supplements and they all greeted me and other customers! All having fun with their customers and helpful to answer all questions. All while they were maintaining the store!

Clean store. Helpful and caring staff. They have the best products. You can even donate items such as blankets, leashes, etc. there and they will distribute them to the most appropriate shelters, etc. I will never go anywhere else.

Toni at Pet Food Express on Piedmont Av. provided excellent client service when I was having two ID tags made for my dog. She ensured it was exactly as I wanted and even found a better way to engrave the information on the tag. She was amazing and cared to not only do what I requested but made the tag's information even more useful. It was a huge relief to get a tag made with updated information and be able to include all the information I wanted on it.Toni is a gem and a perfect representative of Pet Food Express and its appreciation for their clients and their pets. Thank you Toni!

When to Pet Express this morning to give my dog a bath, the three employees there was so helpful. They even let me in early to give my dog a bath because my dog doesn’t get alone with other animals. I really appreciate them for that.

Lovely, helpful people that truly care about animals. I can't even count the questions I've asked them and they're always eager to help. I love coming in here, literally my favorite store nowadays. The manager Nick is so honest and knowledgeable. The other team members are all so kind and helpful as well, I wish I could work here!

I love that PFE is Oakland owned (not a big heartless corporation) and invests in our community! They donate stuff to local shelters. Great people, who care about animals + a great selection of quality controlled foods & treats. I needed a little extra help with a pickup order and the associates were very kind and helpful.

Self service pet wash is gold here. The price went up from $15 to $18 but worth every penny for a warm wash and blow dry for our furry huskies. On this day, we brought in Maya and Laika. Maya did not enjoy her spaw day however Laika loved it.

Okay, let me just start by saying this location has one hell of a manager! The sheer pleasant smiles of staff all around in this store are truly a rarity indeed! I had a ton of time to kill recently, and somehow managed to spend every bit of it getting refamiliarized with the array of products new to the pet market, and in doing so, had some really fun and informative conversations with several of the staff here. Each in their own way made me feel so welcome, helpful, and not once did I ever feel to be a burden on them for all the questions that came up. I want to give a little extra mention again to the manager gentleman- your staff is above par, and hopefully they are rewarded appropriately for their efforts in setting you guys so far apart from the contenders nearby. In addition, THANK YOU to Deann(a?) For taking so much in depth info and bringing it into a much understood alternative to what the labels provide, and an extra thank you for the candid recommendations and other tidbits you shared about yourself and your relative experience to many parts of our conversations! You guys gained a customer committed to returning when an experience becomes like the one I had. And, I took the time to get all your names the night I was there, but I have seemingly misplaced the paper much to my frustration! I waited to share this experience until I found it, and I'm sure I will eventually, but I didn't want this to slip my mind and be outdated! Forgive me for not personally including you all by name, in no way does it lessen how superior you guys all were. Some people notice a good thing, and I did. Keep up the great vibe!?

I wish I could fully express how upset I am about the changes to this store, back in 2020 up to the end of 2021, I enjoyed coming here because of how the employees made me and my pets feel like family and I no longer get that joy. I am met with unhappiness and standoffishness when I come in, these new people are unbearable and mean. At one point I was left with two other customers, unhelped for a good 15 minutes while people who had came in after were quickly sought after and assisted.

Such a clean well organized store, with absolutely wonderfully friendly staff. I wish they had more stuff but other than that this place is great.
