In August 2023, our client – a 99-year-old widower living in an assisted-living facility – wanted to purchase a Memorial Pavilion to honor his deceased wife. Forever Redwood was contracted to deliver and build the pavilion at the senior community - for all of the residents to enjoy last Fall.
In exchange for PAYMENT IN FULL IN ADVANCE (our first mistake), Forever Redwood promised to expedite delivery and begin construction on or before October 18th to begin the 3 to 5 day re-construction on-site. By the way, the promised to give frequent updates as well.
As the date approached (with NO updates received) we attempted to make contact multiple times to confirm, and on October 17th – just ONE DAY BEFORE the promised delivery, we received AN E-MAIL stating that not only would they not be arriving the following day, but delivery would be delayed an additional 6 WEEKS. In other words, the “autumn” construction project would not begin until after Thanksgiving. Did I mention that delivery was to a site in Northern Indiana – which common sense suggests could very well be cold and snowy by that time?
Can’t tell you how many calls and e-mails were sent with NO RESPONSE to our requests for updates. Complete silence.
Eventually we received a call from a representative who spent most of the conversation making excuses and evading the request to either recommit to a solid delivery date OR return our client’s money.
In order to avoid reimbursement, he agreed to a delivery the week after Thanksgiving. HOWEVER, in order to get better assurances than before (we hoped), we asked that Forever Redwood agree to complete delivery and installation NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15th (just in case weather was an issue), and for every day after that, they would reimburse our client $1000 per day. They agreed.
As you might imagine, they did NOT arrive as promised, but came a week later, and because of weather, they installed for 3 days, did nothing for 2 days (because of sleet), and returned for 2 more days to complete on DECEMBER 20th…5 days after the 2nd deadline they had established.
I won’t go into the lack of communication during all of this, and the inability to manage the logistics of their delivery and construction. This review would be much longer if I did, and I'd already give ZERO stars if I could. Regardless, when contacted about the reimbursement of $5,000 to the client for the 5-day delay, Forever Redwood said they felt $3000 would be appropriate because, after all, the two days they didn’t work (because of their own inability to manage their schedules) it wouldn’t have been safe to work. I agreed it wouldn’t have been safe. In fact, doing this in mid-December in Indiana wasn’t our idea in the first place. They agreed to send $3000, and representative #1 passed me off to representative #2 who was supposed to coordinate sending the check. All of this transpired in early January. Today is April 4th, 2024. No check. No response to our e-mails or calls. And as a result – it’s clear there is NO INTEGRITY either.
So, all of you who are hoping to work with a company you can depend on, BE FOREWARNED! If they would not keep FOUR promises (2 missed deadlines, commitment to a per day reimbursement, and NO reimbursement after all) to a 99-year-old grieving husband, what makes you think they will keep their promise to YOU?! By the way, there seems to be a pattern of similar "broken promise" reviews, which makes the other "good experience" reviews seem a bit suspect. Regardless, Forever Redwood should be ASHAMED…and prospective customers should choose a different company!!!

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Forever Redwood which I’d like to share. My initial sales rep was responsive and professional. We settled on a pergola model fairly quickly and the project moved to the design phase. Rather than pay a deposit on the pergola, I decided to pay in full, which came to $12,981. After several back-and-forth exchanges with the design architect to correct errors, the final design was finished and I submitted it for a building permit.Much to my frustration, my neighborhood HOA did not approve the design. I told this to Forever Redwood and requested a quote for a different style pergola that would meet my HOA’s requirements. Several days passed without a response or acknowledgment from the design team, so after pricing out the new (and much more expensive) pergola on my own, I decided it was too expensive to continue and I asked for a refund.Rather than respect my wishes to get a refund, the company instead kept redirecting me towards other design options or otherwise ignored me entirely. My email account is full of attempts to engage my pergola architect, the customer service department, and even the founder and CEO about a refund, but each time I was either ignored, redirected, or stalled. Their responses ranged from, “You’ll lose half your deposit,” (I paid no deposit—I paid $12,981 in full) to, “We’re awaiting a response from customer service,” to, “We’re still working on your new design.” Finally, having lost all my patience, I emailed the company and made it clear in no uncertain terms that if Forever Redwood did not refund my $12,981 that I would pursue other means to get my money back. That email included everyone from the CEO to customer service as well as the design architect. At that point, Forever Redwood stopped responding to me altogether. To this day, they are still holding my $12,981 and have gone silent. Left with no other option I have referred the matter to the fraud department at my bank as well as the Sonoma County sheriff’s office and the Better Business Bureau.8/23 UPDATEForever Redwood has finally agreed to refund my money after I engaged with the Better Business Bureau and disputed the transaction with my bank. That process is still ongoing and I will update this review once I have the refund in hand.

If you're in the market for a pergola, I recommend Big Timber Structures. They have a wide array of more affordable options with prompt communication and professional customer service, and their manufacturing and shipping times are much faster.

I owe FR an honest review. We ordered a large oval white washed picnic table. The table is heavy, solid, and great in those ways. Initially, the oil from the table leaked out onto the top surfaces and onto my patio tiles and caused discoloration. I was really unhappy and tried to work through customer service to see what was needed to repair or replace. My frustration was that I couldn't really get through to anyone to ask questions about the issues. I don't really know about wood or sanding or doing touch up, and I couldn't get in touch with anyone to talk it through. I took a month or two to work it out.In the end, FR send a person to my home to sand and paint the effected areas. It was the best thing they could have done. I was really happy they did that, even though I'm sure its a lot on their part.Although its taken some time, I do think the table is well made and beautiful, which really is the most important thing.

I do not recommend Forever Redwood. My experience has been promises of dates and apologies with reasons why those dates have not been met. The pergola ordered in May has been sitting in the garage for the last 2 months waiting for installation. I have to contact them to find out about delays, reasons for those delays and new scheduling dates. Sales and marketing emails proclaiming wonderful customer installations makes this customer's experience more painful. I do not recommend Forever Redwood.

Thank you for a very pleasant transaction! From planning to delivery the experience was ideal. The pieces arrived on time and with nothing damaged. We did have a slight mixup with the "boots" for the posts, but that was quickly and easily rectified. Thanks for creating a great product backed with excellent customer service and delivery teams!

Our order arrived on time and was intact with nothing missing or damaged. Adan and the "White Glove" crew did an outstanding job of assembly and cleanup. In fact, the crew left the job site cleaner than it was before assembly. The Del Norte Porch Pavilion is very sturdy and absolutely beautiful. Simply put, my wife is very happy with the product, the simplicity of product purchase, and the utmost willingness of Forever Redwood to work with us during the design, shipment, and assembly process. We look forward to working with Forever Redwood on future projects, and we'll not hesitate to recommend them. In closing, my wife is happy, therefore, I am as well. A thank you for everything to Raul and everyone who had a part in our project. We are very, very impressed.

If every company in the world was operated as well as Forever Redwood most could do away with their customer service departments relative to issues stemming from faulty manufacturing all the way through to final delivery of the product. I wish I could articulate how absolutely blown away I was in dealing with them in every aspect of my purchase. Raul Hernandez was more than gracious with his time in addressing my concerns and questions. Sofia and Leo were also quick to provide information relative to assembly instructions and other concerns prior to my order. The old saying"you get what you pay for" is true. In dealing with Forever Redwood I could say "I got more than I payed for"

The products look lovely on-line. Once I placed an order for a hothouse (greenhouse) I soon realized they were mostly for looks - that the functions were just not there. The 6 x 8 size had a door opening of 1 foot, 10 inches; which I was not made aware of until a week after I placed the order. I then asked to see options for additional sizes (listed on their site as available). Specifics kept getting worse - wall shelves of 10" wide. No vents in the base walls, no place for a fan, no automatic vent openers, no screens on the vents etc etc. It was just getting too difficult - and expensive -to add all the features needed. When I decided to cancel the order (less than 3 weeks after placing it and still not decided on a size - so production was clearly not started), I was told the "terms and conditions you agreed to are to pay 50% of the deposit" (including the sales tax!) for "design fees". When I asked why design fees for stock plans of sizes listed on their site, I was informed, "well, we haven't actually built them yet, so it's like a custom job". So I am paying for them to design, and the next customer will get the same stock piece and also pay a 'design fee'? The invoice I received for my deposit had nothing about design fees or 50% order cancellation fee. There were no terms & conditions listed. When I cancelled the order, they then sent two more pages "attached" to the original invoice detailing their 'terms and conditions'. I absolutely did not get those when placing an order - verbally or in writing. And I certainly did not sign anything agreeing to that policy. I am so very disappointed. I asked if we could reach a satisfactory compromise, that I would agree to pay something for their "designing", but was told "no - you have to pay 50%". I will take this up with my credit card company, as it is absolutely unfair and poor business practice. And I never agreed to those conditions. And they are not listed on their website. Again, the products look lovely, but be sure to get the terms and conditions in writing before putting down any money. All other websites for greenhouses show specs on-line; one should not have to pay nearly $1800 to actually see the specifications. This is an exorbitant amount for a cancellation; and being unable to view the details of a product listed on their site until putting down a huge deposit. I am very disappointed. Buyer beware....

The awning/pergola is beautiful! The delivery guy and installation team were incredible. I'm very happy with everything. However, the communication team put a damper on my enthusiasm, both during the process and delays, and especially for the delivery. On Friday, July 2nd, we discovered the truck was to arrive the next day... Saturday of a holiday weekend. When the driver called to verify, he told us he was alone and would need help unloading these 24' 400-lb uprights. No one from Forever bothered to tell us that! We had to scramble to find a couple of friends who could give us their Saturday afternoon. Certainly there should be two people on the delivery truck, but more importantly, how could they not have a system for informing the customer of this need? The driver should not have to be the person to get this set up! That's just wrong. The awning is gorgeous, though. I had trouble deciding how to rate this because absent the delays and communication gaps, this is for sure a 5-star awning.

My order arrived intact and I put it together in short order with only being short a couple bolts (which were provided quickly). It’s a beautiful table and benches and it’s easy to see the high quality and expert workmanship that went into making it. Very pleased with it.

I ordered a standard sized redwood table with a custom sized bench. They arrived ahead of schedule, in perfect shape, and were easy to assemble. The table is beautiful. We eat on it nearly everyday out on the porch. The bench is exactly what I wanted (able to fit between the table legs). Everyone from Raul (CEO) to the shipping staff that emailed before our table was sent to us in Florida, was pleasant and well informed.Great table from a great eco-oriented company. We will recommend Forever Redwood to our friends and plan to be customers again. Thanks Raul and everyone for a great table !

The product is excellent and exactly as advertised. The communication was not great and the delay in delivery was pretty long (months with very little communication). Additionally, delivery for both purchases was through a company that gave me less than 45 MINUTES notice. The second shipment had to be delayed by two weeks because of the short notice. I kept this rating at 5 stars because the table and planters are so great and the method of deliver was otherwise painless.
