This is the best program you will find for treatment. It has not only saved my life but it has also taught me the skills I need in life to become functioning member of this community . I would highly recommend the Salvation army to anyone who is in need of learning the skills to stay sober and live life again.

The ARC returned me to life and put me on the right track. I came to the program hopeless and defeated. I found hope and love inside the walls.

On my way to drop off some donations. Notice an influx in this area of homeless, druggies and alcoholics, not sure but some may have mental issues as well from this center. These people are usually walking in traffic on Lewis st .

I entered this facility as neither a alcoholic or Drug addict but on assignment. A full article about my experiences there will be published in the Orange County Register in a short period of time. I’m quite sure a lot of people will be be surprised and shocked.

Although this is a good program they put people in charge that shouldn’t be allowed and are not healed or capable. Emotionally some of the staff is hateful and vengeful. Picking on someone just cuz you don’t like them personally is very unprofessional. People are here to get help and get what they earn. It’s not fair at all. Not only does it affect the person in the program it’s affecting the family and loved ones as well. Extremely hateful especially for a Christian ran facility. Again, it’s a great program but the staff needs some serious self reflection themselves. There is no room for power trips in a rehabilitation center. Have a blessed day.

Due to Covid and our 'regular' donation organization not being local or doing pickups anymore I searched for a replacement. Salvation army was my first choice. I called the one in Orange many times but nobody ever picked up the phone to tell me if I could do a drop off. I then Called the Lewis rd. in Anaheim. I was told by a very sweet lady that yes I can do a drop off and their hours on Saturday morning. We drove with a very full load to the site and nobody was there at all. Gates were locked and closed signs. I needed to unload because I was picking up some stuff afterwards so we left all goods outside by the truck and in the bins, leaving without a receipt. Now, this is a matter of principle, not a crucial necessity. I then called, and called and called, leaving message after message. I was transferred, actually got people who transferred me 'not my job'. I actually got the person in charge and simply asked for an emailed receipt, or text or anything. that was a week ago and I am still trying to get a real person. I am very disappointed. We took so much over there and all I need is a piece of paper. IF you plan on doing a tax write-off for large items do not count on getting verification if you don't have it in your hands when you leave. Sure, I don't have to have it, but this is a business that should be used to giving receipts of donations. Not sure where I will take my next load.

Was really treated terrible and I volunteered my time there. Watched others treated terrible with any minor mistake they made. I thought this would be a safe place to work and be. Turns out it was completely the opposite. I was given such positive feedback and then one day it all seemed to turn. Turns out 1 or two people who don't like you can really make your life a living nightmare at work. I went from loving it to hating my life and no longer wanting to do this kinda work at all. I don't recommend this place at all to work or be a resident. They kick people out constantly and don't really seem to have much compassion for people at all. It says it's a free program. That's not just true. As a resident You will work constantly in the warehouse and they will charge your food stamps if you are a resident. Also if you injure yourself at all or can't work they will kick you out or not accept you at all. I was sick and made feel like I was forced to come in or would lose my internship all together. They don't take people with certain diagnosis which is total discrimination in my opinion. Even though there mission statement says the words "without discrimination." I also felt completely discriminated against and believed I was pressured into quitting a job I was never even paid for but was simply there to get credit for school. This place pretty much ruined wanting to do this kinda work at all for me. I had gone to college for this and had prior experience. Some people told me I was talented and not to give up on my dreams but over all this job pretty much completely took away all my joy and heart. I enjoyed working with the residents it was the higher ups Especially the administrator at the time Tanya and a new intern that treated me like less than a human being.
