We are visiting California for the summer and taking advantage of this amazing weather by doing a ton of outdoor stuff. Sadly we tried this little hike out way too late in the day. We didn't arrive until after four and they close the parking lot at 5 so we did a 15 minute walk and got a sneak peek at what we can look forward to in a few days when we go back. The parking lot is so nice to have and we noticed there are several different paths you can take. We chose the stream path but, again, only walked maybe 10 minutes before we turned around. We saw tons of squirrels and birds and we even saw a snake. Definitely recommend for family or anyone who wants to go somewhere outside and relax and enjoy nature.

It is a good place to hike. When you are at the center. There are many different trails at the same place for discovering. I went in May-26-24. There also has archery on Saturday morning. Walking up hill there are many kinds of flowers. Walking down of hill there are many big trees and shades. It is a well worth for family to spend a leisure weekend. No pet.

A beautiful park with lots of beautiful trails. Heavy oak and shrub cover and well maintained trails. There’s a nature center there also.

A beautiful setting of nature at the Nature Center and extending park trails! An educational experience for young and older visitors to learn about the local wildlife.A short hike of under two hours may be done here, even when the Nature Center is closed. Access is thru the lower trail from East Walnut Canyon Road. There’s both compacted and powdery dirt trails within Oak Canyon Park. The trails continue up through the canyon and into the right and left flanks, further extending up along the sides to and from pathways, connecting thru with residential neighborhoods. The northeast Roadrunner Trail passes high up near cave like formations, winds and traverses up near the Walnut Canyon Reservoir’s Periphery Road paved trail, a separate hike itself, or can be included...endurance and time permitting! The parking with main entrance can be accessed via Walnut Canyon Road, just past the Anaheim Hills Golf Club. There’s picnic tables and restrooms at the parking lot.Oak Canyon Nature Center Trails are open everyday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Oak Canyon Nature Center Visitor’s Center has information, park staff and interesting exhibits. Posted access hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There’s no charge for admission, tho a $5.00 donation is suggested and appreciated! To access the Walnut Canyon Reservoir trail, take the steps up from the highest point of the Roadrunner trail to the Reservoir Periphery Rd.

We had our wedding ceremony here and it was pretty seamless! Simply submitted an email request, received documentation to sign and fill out, and that was it. The price was amazing and the ceremony was beautiful. It ended up raining a bit so it was muddy but we had prepared our guests as best we could. The staff was great and really helpful day-of, sweeping away debris off the benches. Our photos turned out absolutely gorgeous.I had also visited before and just noting that parking can be rough on weekends due to weddings, the lot is small and there is plentiful street parking but it’s a trek. Lots of beautiful trails.

I really liked this place. It was very small and the trails are very short, which was disappointing. But it was a nice shaded place for a leisurely stroll. It's free, too. However, be aware that parking is a nightmare.

Great little nature park with many routes to take. Nice to sit quietly and just listen to the birds and wind in the leaves.Updated to add that I recently took my 11 y/o son to the beginning Archery class here and it was great! It was a nice small group and the instructors were friendly and helpful! The nature center staff are always super friendly and helpful. They have a bunch of interesting live animals (reptiles mostly) that you can view and sometimes interact with.

On weekend days there is usually a wedding, so I try to go on weekdays. I have never seen it really busy, but having fewer people around makes it easier to immerse myself in the surroundings. There are several good hiking trails and you can go all the way up to the reservoir where people jog and cycle. The park itself is covered with oak trees with a little stream running through. At the top is a beautiful view.Playground: No playground, just lots of nature.Restrooms: Restrooms at the parking lot.Dog-friendliness: No dogs on the trails.

There arent many hiking trails that have easy access and parking, and is so scenic / shaded / wooded complete with running streams and wooden bridges. And the visitor center is awesome for the kids. What's not to love about this place.
