About Alviso Education Center
Alviso Education Center is a quiet and peaceful little park located next to the river, making it an ideal spot for picnicking, birdwatching, or simply enjoying nature. The park features public restrooms, a drinking fountain, and picnic tables, all set in a well-kept environment. Visitors can explore informational placards that educate about local water sources and the importance of wetlands in the Bay Area, though guided tours for school groups are currently not offered. The area is also home to a demonstration garden showcasing native plants. A nearby trail, the Guadalupe River Trail, is popular for running and walking. While the park is generally clean, visitors are reminded to keep it trash-free. Security is present at night, so it's best to plan visits during daylight hours. Overall, Alviso Education Center serves as a lovely outdoor classroom and a serene escape for residents and visitors alike.
