this place is horrible. the young lady leading the group classes has absolutely no pedagogy or teaching technique. 1st lesson we sat in a circle with 5 dogs going completely nuts while she explained the syllabus for the 5 week course....for a complete hour!! She also explained that it is not a "socialization" class so we were not allowed to have the dogs interact or do any sort of interacting training. the following class was more of the same as we all sat in a circle doing nothing for 40 minutes and then she came around and demonstrated "down" to each of the dogs, all the while the other dogs were bored out of there minds and going nuts being restrained. I stopped going after 2 weeks and my wife lasted only one more before she blew it off as a waste of time. An absurd waste of time.

Amazing puppy program, has been a game changer for us and our busy lives, Penny’s puppy preschool has helped so much in our pup’s upbringing! The handlers are all great, evidence of this is how excited our pup gets at drop off on the days she gets to attend.

I was hoping for help with Desensitization/Counter Conditioning for my puppy's issues, but apparently it's not done here. Owner could be friendlier, less arrogant, less scattered in communication & less judgy.

Truly a wretched human being. Rude hostile not worth your time or money to attempt to learn anything from this person

Horrible experience here. Owner is rude. I was born and raised here in Altadena and just got my first puppy ever with my husband. They are located a block away from my home and I thought I'd come to check it out. My husband and our 10yr old nephew stopped by with me and we were met with so much hostility and aggression by the owner. She literally started to close the gate on us . I didn't feel welcomed at all in my own neighborhood, even though it's appointment only she didn't even care to act with any hospitality, how were we supposed to know? We were/are willing to spend a lot of money on our dogs training but now we will spend it elsewhere. I do not recommend this establishment. If you want to come to a place with good or even basic customer service don't come here.

Our family of three dogs has been attending scent work classes and puppy preschool for the past year. We have been very happy to have found scent work as a fun activity for all of us during the week and in class. We developed enough skill and confidence to even compete in our first trials and are on our way to becoming AKC Scent Work Novices. We also enrolled our preschool puppy in his first scent work class to keep his mind even more activeIt is exciting to see dogs of all ages, all breeds, and personalities able to excel at the same sport. I appreciate Penny's expert knowledge and sharing of her experiences as a handler, and judge, to help us learn and be successful. She is very straight forward and objective, which I appreciate. We also recently added a new puppy to our pack, and immediately knew our boy should attend Puppy Preschool to start him on the right foot. As a rescue, we didn't know too much about his start in life, but now have the opportunity to help him become the best boy he can be. All of the trainers and caretakers are always happy to see our boy and let me know of how he is progressing when I pick him up. I like that they keep the limit to 12 puppies at any time, which is why they know easily where my puppy is doing well and what he/we need to work on. He gets exposed to various people, dogs, sounds, objects, and movements to make them less scary, or desensitized to them in the real world. He also gets to work on his recall, sitting, staying, and being okay with being petted and touched by people. I highly recommend Scott-Fox if you are looking to solidify or enhance your relationship with your dogs. Thanks Penny and team! .

Just beginning with Penny, great educator and understands the possibilities for successful training without food. The bonding created and the stopping as the dog guide self back to desired behavior is a stress free and positive learning. Communication with hands and behind the scenes bonding is magical. Thank you, grateful for the process as we create a team for a lifetime. Deep gratitude. Highly recommend.

My dog and I participated in the scent work ABC games here and had a great time. I can't express how valuable of an experience it was-- both the successes and the misses. I wish all scent work events were this organized and well run, and had this attention to detail. Most of all, I appreciated the honest and frank feedback that Penny gave me. She really knows dogs and dog training and it was refreshing to receive instant coaching on what I did well and what I could improve on. The printed assessment at the end was fantastic. Thanks to all involved in the day.

My puppy attended Scott-Fox puppy preschool from the time she was two months old until six months. She's now seven months old and the care and hard work that the entire staff puts in to socializing the puppies shines through in what a calm, confident and well behaved dog she has become. She is a delight to have around the house and I can take her anywhere with confidence knowing she will be calm because she has been socialized to all kinds of things that might scare a young dog (loud noises, skateboards, fireworks, hats, capes, walkers, wheelchairs etc.). My puppy Dash and I would recommend Scott-Fox puppy preschool to anyone contemplating getting a new puppy.

Very Happy with Penny Scott Fox Training. Just concluded my training class. She gives very clear directions. The owner then goes home and does the training. She gave me pointers on other problems i was having with my dog. And they worked. I would recommend her class to any one. I plan to continue my dogs education with Penny. She is Marvelous.

Penny is not a great first impression. You have to give her time and let her take control of the relationship you have with your dog. If you do, you'll find her to be a professional doing a professional's work. It's not all perfect trying to get a puppy to do the things we all want, but she and her crew have made my puppy a better dog. We've been out of her school now for a few months and there is a tiny bit of regression. But he is better on the leash and very into his crate thanks to her. The ladies that work there are awesome and they would do anything for your dog. I highly recommend, but don't judge Penny on her cold demeanor. Judge her on the results.

We took our 18 month old pup for his first agility class today. We really enjoyed the class as did our dog. We learned a lot from the trainer, Ayla. She is very organized, sweet with the dogs, and explains it all from the dogs perspective. I highly recommend trying this class!!

My mini australian shepherd and I love Penny Scott Fox Training! We started agility at the beginning of the fall, and I loved the fun and supportive atmosphere for the beginners. Both trainers understand dog behavior at its core and work with a variety of dogs. The progress of the classes fit my dog perfectly and now we’re ready for level 3! Great way to bond with your dog and get them outside, working, and having fun!
