The pharmacy does not keep medications in stock and it takes over 2 weeks to fill any prescriptions.

Recently, I called Rite Aid in Altadena and realized that my mom's diabetic pills had run out late in the evening. The pharmacist informed me that there was no refill available. My mom needed at least one pill for that night to stabilize her blood sugar levels. I requested if they could provide at least one pill, but they stated they couldn't dispense without a refill approval, and it was too late to contact the doctor's office for approval. I was panicking. Later, pharmacist Janet called me and informed me that she had managed to secure the approval and dispensed the medication. Ashley and Janet went above and beyond to assist me that night. I am grateful to have such understanding staff who empathize with the customer's concerns. All the staff members are friendly and even recognize customers by name when they walk in for medications. Thank you all for your exceptional service.

Chronically understocked and understaffed. The pharmacy staff is downright abusive. While in line to pick up a prescription refill, I witnessed one pharmacy worker yell at two older female customers in a row for no reason. I was so disgusted, I walked out and had my prescription transferred to another pharmacy.

The pharmacy is never open on time. I wasn’t able to start on my antibiotic for 3 days and developed a kidney infection because I couldn’t pick up my medications before work. They are supposed to open at 8. I went at 0805, 0810, and 0811 on three separate occasions and the pharmacist wasn’t there. Then finally she got there and needed to get set up and I needed to wait for another 5 minutes. If you need to get meds in the morning, go somewhere else.

I've been going to this Rite Aid since 1989 and have always, always had great service with prescriptions, ice cream, beer, ice, and makeup. It's my go-to store. Please keep it. The people are the best.

I went to pick up my prescription that I had called in the previous day. The pharmacist with the bright colored hair said she could have it ready in five minutes. I saw that a long line was forming so five minutes was improbable. I left and returned two hours later. The prescription still wasn't ready. If she had been civil, the situation would have been more tolerable than the appalling way she behaved. She should not work with people.

Don't use this pharmacy. I don't know if they're unorganized, understaffed, or inept but if you value your time at all you will use another place.

I just went to pick up some medication for my husband and some Covid tests. I paid for both at the pharmacy counter, then picked up a couple of bottles of vitamins which I took to the front to purchase. The clerk asked me if I'd paid for my other items. I said yes. Then she asked me again if I'd paid for the two Covid tests I was holding. I said yes. The prescription was in a paper Rite Aid bag, but the tests weren't (not my choice, just how I was given the items after I paid for them). I've never stolen anything in my life and really don't appreciate being asked twice if I paid for items. Maybe I should face showed her the receipt to prove it but I shouldn't have to. This has never happened to me before - rude.

People working at the pharmacy counter seem terribly lost, not looking to provide customer service, get snippy if you ask a question, look like they just crawled out of bed, etc. What sort of $14.00 an hour job is this? The people working at the pharmacy counter are a motley crew, to say the least. It is BAD.

Love this store. It's conveniently located in our neighborhood and the pharmacy staff is so helpful and friendly. The regular Rite Aid staff is as well, and service to check out is always great.

This Rite Aid pharmacy has disappointed on numerous occasions. Most recently, the pharmacy was not open as advertised at 9 AM on a Saturday and I waited for 15 mins before needing to move on. The front of store employee had no answers and only offered that the opener(s) forgot to come in. I just called to ensure a prescription was received earlier today and is getting filled, but no one answers despite it being regular business hours. I’ll probably drive up there and then be told to wait while they fill it. I’ve also had problems with lack of performance and communication from the pharmacy before - like no proactive effort to reach out and alert that they’re out of the prescribed medication, or prescriptions not being filled in a timely manner.

This has been my go-to pharmacy for many years. The employees are very friendly and professional. Even though Rite Aid is a large chain operation, this store has the feeling of a small neighborhood business. .
