I went on a foggy day down low, so imagine the view would have been magnitudes better during clear weather. I started from the Eaton Saddle, so just know starting from there means your return hike will be uphill, as Inspiration Point is at a lower elevation. Also, the Mt Lowe East trail on Google maps is a ghost trail. Only Mt Lowe West trail exists. Use Mt Lowe west for a more challenging return to Eaton Saddle. Or you can stick to the wide fire road for a casual experience.

Great hike. We started off at about 9:20 am. Had great weather. It was a bit overcast, but it cleared up a bit. We hiked up to Inspiration Point via Echo Mountain & Castle Canyon Trail. Encountered really nice and helpful fellow hikers along the way. There's plenty of snow up there. Dress warm and micro spikes are recommended. Some of the trails are slippery and very narrow. Be careful if you decide to go. You will encounter many waterfalls along the way. We looped it back to Echo Mountain, and we were able to capture another waterfall in the distance. For some of us, it's been a minute since we've actually seen snow. This was an amazing experience.

This was a hard hike but so worth it! We got lost and tried to get back on trail so we took some steep inclines. I do this hike every year, and I feel it's always hard no matter how in shape or out of shape I am! Bring lots of water and snacks! You'll need it! It took us 4 hours round trip!

Test your endurance and start at Cobb Estate. It's a beautiful scene if the clouds aren't blocking the view. Pipes are pointing to several cities so you'll know what is where. It's nice to have the place to yourself so going before sunrise will give you that opportunity.

Great hike - 8.8 miles out and back (I believe about 7 miles round trip if you are only going to the site, but I took a little detour). The parking areas were full because cars were parked far apart, but too small to squeeze in, I parked a little down the road on a turnout. You will need an Adventure Pass or the annual America is Beautiful card. The elevation had a gradual change and it wasn't too steep. The various views were breathtaking throughout the hike - mountains, cityscape, the ocean, and outline of Catalina. I went in the afternoon and hiked back to the car in the evening. There were some people mountain biking, so I stayed close to the side. Bring water and be careful on the loose rocks. I also packed a lunch and ate at the tables at Inspiration Point. I would highly recommend this trail.

This is my second time coming here and the view is truly spectacular after a long hike!! The hike to the Inspiration Point is definitely worth a visit for taking good pictures over there. I will come back for sure!! 5 stars! Be sure to wear the best and comfortable sneakers cause the hike is really long

It's beautiful. Nice shaded area with picnic tables and seating. Beautiful views of the LA basin to the South all the way to the ocean on a clear day. 10 Mile round trip hike from the trailhead on lake.

It’s a fairly easy 1hr 15min downhill hike to here if you start Eaton Saddle Trailhead. However, heading backup can be more difficult and a little more treacherous as some parts of the trail is a little worn out. Taking the much longer route back out via Mt Lowe Rd is much easier as it’s a gradual incline but it will take about 2-2.5hrs total.

Multiple hiking and biking paths can lead to this spot. A clear day sunset would be the best time for good view.
