Found out about this volunteering opportunity here, it's a few blocks away from the senior apartment where my mom lives. The daily operations is run very efficiently. Very rewarding to pack and deliver meals to those who count on them every day.

Our mission is to provide nutritious meals at an affordable price to persons who are confined to their homes because of illness, accident, convalescence or age. Today in America 1 in 9 seniors – an astonishing 5 million people – is at risk of hunger. Right here in our own neighborhood there are hundreds of people who are not able to shop, cook and prepare meals either because of illness or age. Culver Palms Meals On Wheels (CPMOW) is a non-profit, non-sectarian, volunteer, community based 501(c)3 organization that has been serving the homebound in Culver City and surrounding communities since 1974.
