Dr. Frics and Dr. Ahn are an absolute pleasure to work with. They’re very professional, knowledgeable, and on top of all the advances in veterinary medicine. If they can’t treat it, they’ll responsibly refer you to a specialist. They treat you like family and your fur babies, feathered or scaled, too!

I took my family dogs here to be seen for some stomach trouble, and I was blown away by how amazing the staff handle him. He is not a small dog and is definitely a handful, and I have been to some previous vets that are hesitant to give him proper care. However, at West Main they all were so loving and caring towards him and me as the owner I cannot say any negative comments about my experience, and I will definitely be bringing, my dog back for all of his veterinarian needs.

Dr Frics and Dr Niu are very caring vets. We have been taking our pets to west main for decades. They havevalways gotten the best of care. The staff is outstanding. Caring and compassionate. My wife and I feel peace of mind in our pets medical needs at West Main

I’m sorry but I can’t stand vets anymore. I just want some relief for my dog because he has arthritis. What I don’t need is a “pick and choose” $750/month treatment plan that’s recommended with an up front cost of $1700.
Astounded that they wouldn’t even prescribe more than 2 weeks of dog ibuprofen without $350 bloodwork.
I supplied his bloodwork from a prior vet but it’s a little over a year old. Guess what, he’s 11 years old it’s not changing a lot. Greed/lawyers/insurance causes this. You mention that aspirin is the LEAST SAFE treatment.. well guess what he has to take now because of your bloodwork costs.
My vet back home cared more about our animals than their profit margin and would routinely prescribe us a year of meds or extra in case we needed it. Not here.
Can’t believe I just paid $100 for this vet to basically say my dog doesn’t get to play ball anymore because I can’t afford it. America ??
Edit in response: you gave us two weeks of the better prescription, what is that supposed to do?! I know you’d love it if we had to come in every week like the injections require but we live in reality. Two weeks does nothing for me.
Also the aspirin he’s been on was prescribed by a vet, and he has had no negative side effects. So while you may be right, I had no idea that’s why you wanted a blood test. You ignored most of my other qualms, and frankly I don’t know how someone could be a vet, and feel like they’re helping animals by making something as simple as an anti-inflammatory cost prohibitive. Shameful

I would highly recommend West Main Animal Hospital for your pet's needs. The entire staff were all extremely friendly, understanding, accommodating and helpful. Special shoutout to Amparo, Dr. Rachel Niu and Misty. I was scrambling to find a vet the day before Thanksgiving and fortunately West Main was able to have me do a drop off for my cat. Consultation and the services/pricing are clearly communicated and transparent. Staff took the time to detail exactly what each services do. West Main closes at 6PM but Dr. Niu still took the time to summarize all the results from the reports and the type of treatment they gave my cat. Not once did I feel rushed to leave and asked me multiple times if I had any questions. Amparo and team even gave a follow up call 2 days later to see how many cat was doing. I couldn't recommend a better team for your pet. They genuinely care about the health of your buddy. Thank you once again everyone at West Main Animal Hospital!

Just called & spoke with Joyce...
I was calling to inquire about boarding.
She immediately said they were not accepting new pets, I told her I was aware of that and that though I need to find a new vet, I still needed to board.
She said they are not taking new pets or boarding.. because they only have Dr Frics working. Boarding does not require the presence of a vet... She was quite curt and in rush to end the call.
Dr. Frics was our vet many years ago and wanted to go back to him now that we are back in the area. Now I don't think I want to do that...

Dr. Frics and his staff are utterly and truly amazing! I have been taking my dogs to them for over 6yrs. When that time comes to say good bye to your fur baby, they are kind and respectful, give you time to say good bye. I have had to say good bye to two pets and both times they have been nothing but loving, respectful and caring to my fur babies and to me. Thank you Dr. Frics and the ladies at the front office!

this has been the main vet for all my pets . i had nothing but great experiences with them. west main recently found out that my dog passed away and today i received a note card signed by the staff of west main. thank you for the card , really meant alot !

Dr Frics was great . Been taking my 3 cats there for years. The vet gave my kitty with asthma the med's he needs
