The owner Bill, always takes care of my old cars. Ive taken two of my old ramblers to Bill and recommended several of my rambler club mates for work on our classic cars. Bill always figures inspects, diagnoses and outsources parts and services that most other mechanic shops wont venture into. If you are looking for a cheap mechanic, this is not the place, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. This shop has decades of eperience with older cars and a vast network of parts sources. I strongly recommend this shop.

I took my Dodge truck to see Bill because the steering is getting loose. He put it on the lift, checked everything out, and gave me an honest assessment of what it might need. He didn't even charge me for his time to diagnose it even though I wanted to pay him. I'm definitely bringing it back to Bill next time.

So glad I found Bill and his son Jim to take a look at my 1972 Ford F-250. Came in because I felt that another mechanic in Eagle Rock were trying to sell me on a new suspension among many other services that totaled well over five thousand dollars that "needed" to be done right away. I brought the report in to Modern Auto and after another inspection by Bill, he suggested that the other mechanics were basically trying to take me for a ride. Bill explained that my truck was tip top and needed nothing besides new break hoses. Definitely would recommend if you have a classic car or an older vehicle. I will be taking my truck to Bill and Jim from now on. Thanks again guys!

This is my go to place for reliable and affordable in Alhambra!!! Bill and son deliver top of the line service! They mainly service my 1961 GMC suburban, which they leave running better than new for a 58 year old classic. From clutch replacement to engine work no complaints from me(seriously people!!! Not a one!!!)) Now that my 2009 Dodge Challenger started acting up after hitting one hundred thou.. a spark plug change and a fuel injector replacement has it ready for the next hundred thou! One day service on most jobs!! (What more can you ask for?) My fellow alhambrans now you know!! Give this place a try before you get robbed willingly at the dealership!!! You won't regret it!!

I could not be happier with the service I received at Modern Auto Service. The owner and crew have personal interest in classic cars of all kinds, but Mopars are the owners favorites I believe. I took my 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT in to have them give it a tune up and general going over. They did a great job and the car runs much better than it ever has. They also gave me an honest list of items I need to address in the future. Really appreciated that. I'll be back as soon as my pocketbook allows me too.

This shop has rescued me twice! First time was the beginning of the year. My breaks were worn down to the metal. Yikes! They replaced my rotors and back brake pads. Very reasonable priced and quick service! This last time was couple days ago, my car wouldn't start the electrical system was going all whackadoodle so I had to towed to this shop! After some chaos they fixed it and it works great. They also noted I needed new tires in the front which I hadn't even noticed. Again great honest services and very reasonable prices!!! Fyi I have a Dodge Avenger
