I'm afraid I disagree entirely with the other comments on this post. They are not just racist against Hispanics. They are very incompetent and rude to their customers in general. I am writing this review for my father-in-law, who is an elderly Asian. The branch manager (Tang) was extremely rude and treated him poorly. He made him wait for almost two hours for a mistake they made and did not even apologize for it.

I went in to inquire about general banking and I was very impressed with the manner I was treated, very respectful and well satisfied with the information I received. I will be returning to do more business with Citibank.

The worst experience of my life. For one I felt discriminated against being Hispanic. No banker or teller acknowledged my arrival. I noticed they had greeted everyone at the door. Second I waited over 30 mins to see a banker. No one acknowledged that I was waiting there. The main person greeted someone behind me and was going to take them next and I said excuse me I had been waiting here for 30 mins and haven't been seen. She didn't know I was waiting there. The people behind me stated to her that I had been waiting there for awhile. She said to them I am only helping Citi gold members. How the hell would she know if I was Citi gold member or not if she never asked me?! Racism at its pure best. I'm a Hispanic male and the only people she acknowledged where Asian and white. It such a dam shame that I can't even get acknowledge when I'm trying to open up an account.

Beware Investment Advisors at Citi. Last Dec 2021, citi branch setup my mom to get investment advise. Advisor Anna persuade my mom to invest all her svgs into a Franklin municipal bond fund. Less than 1 mos, the fund dropped over $5k, and by 5th mos, it dropped $16k more than 11%. Noted my mom is 81 yrs old, do not speak English, and has NO grammar school, not any investment background. I filed a compliant to Citi investigation team. What it came back was she was in suitable investment because her tolerance level is "moderate", and investment knowledge is "moderate". How on earth does a 81 yrs old widow evaluated as "moderate" risk + experienced investor? Then I find out the decision of "suitable fit" was based on "new acct form" she signed. Anna asked my mom signed an open account form (in English), computer-typed by her, ck box "moderate" investment exp, and moderate risk. So my mom never knew what she signed, but was told in chinese that it was an open account form.I was present, and I did asked "shouldn't we wait until next year because Fed is increasing rate, and wouldn't this bond fund goes down?" Anna replied, she followed this fund over 20yrs, and it is very safe and will go back up eventually if it goes down one year. So far, my mom has lost $16,000 over 11% in this fund within 6 mos. And I later find out citi advisors receives commission from clients and being year-end, advisors must be desperate to meet quotas. Also, Please be aware there is no such thing as "Compliant dept" because there is no person's name who email you nor contact phone no. (Only they can talk justify they're right, but you can never talk to anyone! ) When you call and file a compliant, they take your compliant and after 1-mo reply your email with some ridiculous excuses that your investment is right fit, it is just your bad luck investing on the market. BE AWARE OF THE AGENT, "ANNA L"She service Arcadia, Irvine, SG valley. I had to trace her 3 branches to find her#.

I went here to cash my check and one bill was defective when I deposit at the Wells Fargo bank. This bank should take a look at there bills first before handing them over to me. The lady in this bank was being rude to me about it as well. And wouldn’t take the blame for it after I told them they gave me a old bill that they wouldn’t accept anymore at Wells Fargo bank. She insist by telling me we don’t know what you did from here to there. We counted the money and that’s all they were fine.

Vivian was my banker today. There was a bit of a mix-up with appointment times (not her fault), but she squeezed me in before her next client and made sure I was taken care of. She was also doing her best to direct traffic and help other customers get to their assigned banker. Seems like this Citi branch was slightly short-staffed when I went in, but Vivian was giving 110%, and I really appreciated her help!!

This is one of the better locations. Staff are friendly and helpful. Somethings I needed require an appointment but overall, my experience at this location have been very good.

Bait and switch on checking bonus. Never open an account with them. Waste your time. They don’t care long time customer. -1 score.

The ABSOLUTE worst experience. Please do not open your account at this branch especially with SHON YING. He helped us open our business account and made so many mistakes in opening our account. From registering the wrong name to providing falsely inflated interest rates for the accounts. Moreover he did not provide any folllowup once the account is opened. (It took over 1 week to have the account set up) and Zero phone calls to let us know when to fund the account. The worst part came when we went into another branch and was told our promotion was not APPLIED to our business account!! It was mistakes on top of mistakes! If you want a personal and competent banking experience this is NOT the place or person to see. Trust me, there's many other citi in the area. STEER CLEAR OF THIS BRANCH AND ESPECIALLY SHON YING. I'm reporting this to their head manager as well.
