I love this place. The staff at both locations are super friendly. They even remembered the types of flowers my wife doesn't like (I had forgotten). The arrangements are awesome, but it's the little things like that that keep me coming back.

So happy I found this shop! I needed a bouquet for my mom's birthday and lucked out when I walked into this shop. Emma is friendly, patient, and talented. She followed me around as I picked out all the flowers I wanted (purple's mom's fave) and we chatted it up as she put together the beautiful bouquet for me. My mother was so delighted, she absolutely loved it. I'm definitely becoming a repeat customer.

I wanted this to be good…but she was on phone talking to me taking me order. She’s not a Native English speaker. The order was on time but they had no idea what it said. Terrible…I wrote it out for them. Last time I deal with them.

Ordered 4 boutiniers for my wedding to be picked up at 10 am on the day. This was written clearly on the invoice. Late afternoon on the day before, I called to confirm. After they looked it up they told me "Oh, sorry, we won't open tomorrow until 11:30". But they are ready, you can come get them now but we close in 15 mins. I had to drop everything I was doing in my tight schedule of preparations to run over there. Good thing I called! Otherwise I would have gone there on my wedding day to get them to find the shop closed! The shop should have called me! The person at the shop had no excuse. Just "sorry, the lady for tomorrow called and can't come in until 11:30" Never use this shop to order ahead for later pickup for an important event. Totally irresponsible and unreliable!

My four friends and I wanted to send flowers to our friends who had to put both their dogs down within 2 months. I had a bouquet in mind from the Golden Poppy website. Ana of Golden Poppy and was very transparent about what types of flowers were available in the arrangement I had in mind. Not only that, she took our message, names and other information with accuracy and thoroughness. It was seamless, affordable and our friends were delighted. I would definitely send flowers through Ana at Golden Poppy in El Cerrito again.

Ordering flowers the past few years (for CO, TX and NV) has often been maddening - florists think they can cheat the sender by sending an arrangement that has no where near the advertised value. But The Golden Poppy has been one of the good ones. I ordered a cheerful arrangement for a friend recovering from surgery. I know flowers may be substituted based on availability, so the arrangement was slightly different in colors, but as big with as many stems as advertised. I was happy that what she received was what I thought it would look like, and the recipient was happy with the beautiful arrangement. This florist will be my Go To for flowers in that area!

While making plans for our Mothers Funeral Service, the Golden Poppy in El Cerrito was suggested. The Owner and daughter were so gracious and helpful. On one of the arrangements we had specific requests, the designer listened and explained what she thought would deliver the product. WOW, is all I can say, both arrangements were absolutely stunning. After talking briefly with both ladies, we were confident that we would be happy with the delivered product, but they were way above our expectations. Very happy with The Golden Poppy especially under the circumstances. Thank you Golden Poppy!!!!!
