“I love this store! I've been there to buy shoes twice and also dropped by for a community run they do every Sunday. Each time I've been here, the customer experience has been beyond wonderful. Ellis helped walk me through many shoe options best fit for my needs on both occasions and helpfully explained the differences between the shoes, what they do, and guided me through the decision making. At one point I was staring at the nutrition shelf since I'm new to them and the crew at Renegade let me take them home to try! I really did appreciate that since I was so clearly lost. Will definitely be back and continue to return for all my future shoe endeavors.”

“I started playing tennis rather late in life. My patient and supportive friend Mariko coached me from the ground up until I could (somewhat) competently play with others. Recently she told me I was ready to graduate beyond my beginners racquet. This day felt momentous. I probably should've noted it down in my diary. (Reader: I did not, but it was sometime late last summer.) Mariko sorted everything related to my second tennis racquet by calling Tom at Montclair Sports. All I had to do was show up and pay for it. Others are unlikely to receive this level of service, but rest assured that even if you don't have a Mariko in your life, Tom will get you everything you need to get on the court. When I'm ready for my next racquet, I'll be coming back to Tom.”

I’ve never owned Dr. Martens before, so that combined with the cost made this a really big, nerve-wracking purchase for me. The staff was SO ridiculously patient and helpful with me while I changed my mind several times, left to go feed the meter, etc. Specifically Kay was kind and super accommodating with all my questions—she never made me feel like I was being annoying (I was). “Wow, this place has everything you need, cowboy hats, belts, cowboy boots, vests, etc. It's also a historic place in Richmond, it's been around since 1947 and still has poles outside where people used to tie up their horses. Great place!”

Luis carefully evaluated my step and pain symptoms, and explained clearly how my high arches and over-pronating contributes to my pain. He provided recommendations on shoes and insoles, and then went the extra mile showing me exercises to prevent injury and build up strength in key areas impacted by my gait. Prices are still pretty high but it's Columbia, what do you expect. If you really look deep, you could find nicely priced items. I had a particular use-case for the shoes I was looking for, and she gave me several styles to try. She described them expertly, and answered all my specific questions about color and helped me find the exact pair I needed. The atmosphere was great- I could tell she was happy to be working there. She is a true seasoned professional, and made the shopping/purchasing experience positive and fun. The music that was on in the store was fantastic, too! They had a wide variety on rotation, and it wasn't just me singing to it, either! Thank you to all the staff who make the store experience what it is. “I rarely write a review about anything. I think the only other time I've been on Yelp was to complain about a car dealership pre-Covid. This time it's to praise the quality of the shoes The Walk Shop offers. I have many shoes from your store and I'm ALWAYS pleased! Two days ago, I realized I have a trip coming up and needed a new pair of comfortable black, semi-dress shoes. The only store I even considered going to was The Walk Shop! Once I arrived, in less than 10 minutes, I selected several different options, tried them on in my size, made a decision and was done with my purchase. Turns out I needed them for an event yesterday, too, and ended up having to do ALOT of unexpected walking and tons of going up and down stairs. NO PROBLEM!! My legs weren't even tired and I'm almost 67 years old! The right shoes make ALL the difference! And I swear that your prices have barely increased in the last few years. Even if I'd paid more, they are worth every penny! A GREAT value for an excellent look and comfort! I'll be back!”

“I had an issue with a shoe size I bought in store. This place isn't for low income shooters, it is was not expensive than I might normally go for but I wanted solid strong shoes. I was able to get them replaced after 2 days. I'm disappointed that they tried to unplug my feedback after only 2 days and a request for exchange one”
