Not for the first time, I waited over half an hour for my "Drive Up and Go" grocery order. No one answers the phone at this store, and eventually I had to unbuckle my kid, walk in the store and find someone to help us. Apparently the one employee who both answers the phone and brings out the groceries was on break. If limited employees means this service can no longer be offered - STOP OFFERING IT. I will happily take 45 minutes to shop for my own groceries, but next time it will be at a different Safeway.

Too much negativity coming from some cashiers.

Many time I have gone here many times and the milk area seems to be consistently out of stock. Andronicos seems to have better inventory and stocking levels.

I can't believe it's not 24 yet says 24. Wasted so much time. Unbelievable. Why wasn't this updated!1

Poor Safeway. Please put in a self check out so customers can have as little contact with your staff as possible. Safeway is such a great company yet their hiring practices are abysmal. I love giving Safeway my money, but your employees are surely reversing that. Definitely not the behavior expected from Albany site.

Phone number states 24 hours. Google says 24 hours. Confirmed with staff that after covid hours are midnight-0600A. Unfortunate to be here at 3AM.

Pretty annoying that they change their hours, but don't update Google Maps. Unless they live under a rock, they must know not many stores are open past midnight, much less are 24 hours. So when that change was made why not update the most popular app for finding places? Weird. Several people were pulling up as I left, also apparently unaware the store closes at midnight now. Not sure of the opening time.

I didn't need any groceries, but I was early for a scheduled massage down the block, so I decided to walk into Safeway to cash out a gift card. It isn't a well-known fact, but in the state of California, customers can cash out gift cards that are under $10. I don't like carrying gift cards in general because I'm worried I will misplace them and be SOL, so when their value is low enough, I try to remember to cash them out. I go to the Customer Service counter and push the button for assistance. After a moment or two, someone comes over asks what I need. I politely let her know I'd like to cash out a gift card. She replies coldly, "we don't do that here." I calmly tell her it's a law in California, but she is not interested in even considering what I have to say. Realizing that I need to get going soon and recognizing she's miscast in customer service and that there's nothing I can say to convince her, I politely ask to speak to someone else. She says I can talk to her manager, Brad, and I thank her for this opportunity. Perhaps assuming I will back off once I realize a manager is coming, she is incredulous that I actually want to see him. She rudely insists that he's going to tell me the same thing, and I let her know I'd still like to speak to Brad. Brad, thankfully, is both more knowledgeable about the law and, unlike his employee, is not a ridiculously unpleasant person. He helps me immediately and I go on my way. I can't imagine having to work with such a miserable human being, but what baffles me is that this employee was so nasty. Even if I had been mistaken about the law, she could have handled herself a thousand different ways that would have been better. Maybe she has some special skill that makes Safeway keep her around, but God knows why she is allowed to speak to customers. This experience merited the lowest possible rating. Only Brad's handling of it in the end bumps it up to two stars.

This Safeway used to be open 24 hours a day, but they've had to close on some nights because of shoplifters. It's a shame that we can't have good things because of a few idiots. It was wonderful being able to go to this Safeway in the middle of the night whenever I needed something. It's a great store

Good selection, quality produce, staff who actually knows where things are. They often only have two cashiers on Saturday mornings so the lines can get a little long, but that's a corporate staffing choice, not the employees.

Stuff busy chatting with others rather than helping pack food. Missed a bus because of this and it is really frustrating in a busy day. Not everyone has a relaxing life.

Over 20 years ago when I was a teenager they band me from this store. They told my mom that it looked like I wanted to steal. Looking back all these years later and being more educated. I now realize that was racial profiling. If you don't have video evidence; police were never called and I never stole anything. How can a corporation make a drastic decision to band someone because of what they think might happen. I ended up moving away but even so. I feel I should write a.letter to corp. One thing, I've noticed about the bay area underneath the we are very tolerant we are liberals and we hate Trump. There is a bias and passive aggressive racisms that exists. No doubt about it.

Two of the employees who work the register almost everyday here are so incredibly rude that it makes me not want to shop here. They are both middle aged women. Not only are they unfriendly, they also fight and call each other names in front of the customers. I can’t believe they are allowed to work here. Actually, I can, since I have no idea who the manager is at this store; there is never anyone at customer service.
