One star because you have to. I'll start by saying I despise dogma that supplants human kindness. After my ORAL SURGERY my surgeon's office assured me my prescriptions were ready and waiting for me here. I drove there directly, but happened to arrive 1 minute into a "lunch break". There were 4 employees working in the pharmacy but they made me sit and wait until that lunch break was over to spend the less than 2 minutes it took to help me. So I sat in their chair in pain and bleeding from the mouth to satisfy their dogmatic BS. I work in customer service, and this IS NOT customer service. One can always choose to be kind, but 4 out 4 employees in that pharmacy chose not to. Yuck.

I get that people are trying to ignore Covid t they don't even carry Covid tests or offer a way of knowing where to get them.

If I could give this pharmacy zero stars, I would. They are rude, unprofessional, incompetent, and dangerous. If you call on the phone, you will wait and wait until their phones just hang up on you. I am trying currently to fill my husband's prescription for nebulizer solution. This is a common drug for severe asthmatics that CVS either doesn't have on site or are telling me that Medicare does not cover this drug that was covered last month and dispensed by the same pharmacy numerous times. I have made four trips to this pharmacy trying to get the drug filled. I told them that my husband needs this drug to breathe after Covid. My doctor finally suggested that I get a Good-RX coupon online. Why did CVS not suggest this three days ago? We are having the same problem with oral prednisone sent by the hospital emergency room yesterday. CVS can't find the prescription. I spoke with the ER and they just sent it again. These pharmacists and staff do not care. CVS should either close this branch or hire professionals who care about their client's safety. I am transferring our account to another CVS in town and hoping for better service. Meanwhile, I will send a complaint to CVS corporate.

I have always tried to support this local pharmacy but the staff turnover and waits are unacceptable. The manager is ruder than most of the staff and actually told me when I called re a prescription to do it online or if I needed to discuss something with her that I could not do online that I "need to be patient". This is not the first time she's been incredibly rude. The only good tech they had Gabby is no longer there and I no longer will be using their services. I don't think they care anyways and although their mismanagement and understaffing issues are constant it is unacceptable to be in the service industry with such a terrible staff.

I debated whether to post this review and today, I think it’s time. The pharmacy at this location has a tight group of ladies working; assistants and pharmacists. My review is meant for the Dina, the pharmacist. To begin, I was trying to get my dads pain meds refilled due to a change in his dose. Knowing the possible confusion, I called the pharmacy ahead and confirmed that they received the new order from his doctor. I was assured by the assistant that they received the new order and that it would be ready. When I got there, I was told that the prescription was too early to fill. I was then referred to Dina who was behind the counter in the back. She didn’t bother to come greet me at the counter and proceeded to tell me that she cannot fill the prescription. She told me by her calculations, my father should have 10 more days of meds. Again, I tried to explain the change but Dina refused to listen. She said out loud behind the counter that I needed to stand aside and she will think about whether she will dispense the meds. At this point, I’m conflicted. Why is a pharmacist playing doctor and making decisions that impact the patient. Because I don’t know the qualifications of a pharmacist and my father is in need of the meds, I did not question or challenge her comments. She then proceeded to tell me that I need to manage my fathers med because old people tend to abuse meds and they are not capable of managing the dosage. At this point, I’m thinking, she is insinuating my father is abusing the meds. There were other customers in line and she is not concerned that our conversation is being heard by everyone in the store. I waited but was not sure how long before she would “decide “ on my fathers faith so I told her I would leave because I did not want to stress her. She immediately told me that she was not stressed and that even if the doctor called in a new prescription, she is the one deciding whether to dispense the meds. Thank you for reading this far in the review so let me ended this by saying, we transferred all of my parents prescriptions to Walgreens. Never have I ever experienced such entitlement and unprofessional service from a supposedly professional.

The pharmacy on Solano Ave, is an absolute disaster. The staff is rude and have no idea what they are doing. Make sure you check your prescription and make sure it's yours....

However terrible these reviews may seem, the actual courtesy and service at the Albany store is even worse. I'm posting this in April of 2023 so don't read something from a few years back and actually believe it.

Horrible pharmacist. Would not refill a script for cough medicine as he "questioned" the prescribing it and had to recall the doctor as the Rx had been sitting with him for 2 days and 2nd call to see if it was ready. I think it's family owned or so. Garbage service

Often chaotic. Once they gave me 10 pills when the prescription called for 10 days worth of pills, which was over 30. It caused me to miss a day of the regimen. Today, day four of waiting for notification that a prescription is ready which is normally ready in 24 hours, I called to check on it. After waiting on hold 10 minutes, the person who answered was tremendously annoyed that I had called to ask if my prescription was ready, and told me I should check my account online. I explained I didn't have an account online, which only annoyed her more.

This pharmacy has the friendliest staff ever. The pharmacist Dena is so helpful and time efficient. I never dread having to pick up my prescriptions once a month.

Don't you dare do business with these people. Pharmacy is WAY understaffed - constantly understaffed on every visit I made on various days of the week at different times. You'll wait 15 - 30 minutes just to get to the head of the line - and then wait longer still for them to fill your order. I've switched to a different pharmacy.

It'd be nice to live in a world where you could simply call your friendly neighborhood pharmacy and ask whether or not they have a medication in stock. Instead, I just spent two hours on the phone holding for twenty minutes just to be hung up on; then calling again, holding for another twenty minutes, being told it doesn't matter whether or not the medication is in stock, it's too soon to fill, being cut off when trying to ask how it could possibly be too soon to fill, put on hold and then, again, being hung up on; and then, finally, calling a third time, waiting on hold for another twenty minutes, being told, \"Oops, I see what's going on...it's not too soon and we can fill it but our system won't let it process it through your insurance [for some unspecified reason]....ok, you're willing to pay cash? ...let me check to see if we have it in stock...no, I'm sorry, sir, we don't have that medication in stock and it's on backorder.\" ¯\\_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯
