I received a great haircut here. Thick hair, from schmedium length to short layered bob. I’ve gotten lots of compliments. No frills place but one of the top five haircuts I’ve gotten in terms of final result.

Great haircut. I've been going here since 2018. I'm always happy with my cut. The only drawback is the parking so, nothing to do with his services.

Went to a few places to get haircuts in the area, some I have been quite satisfied, some I have not, but this place operates at a different level, the quality of the haircut was a couple price points higher than the actual price. clean place, has a shared parking lot (sometimes pretty full), friendly owner, skillful cut & great price. would definitely recommend.

Ladies, if you need thermal straightening for a reasonable price, he is the guy. I have pretty thick hair and he did a good job straightening it. He didn't fry my hair like the other salon in the neighborhood. For ladies color and straightening, going on less busy days are ideal.

I have medium length hair. I came here for a layered haircut and Jim knew how to produce the haircut I wanted. I have really thin hair, and he managed to make my hair look fuller. It was much more affordable than the other haircuts I've gotten in Albany.Service: Haircut

I bring my son here for a hair cut. They take walk-in's. It's not a super fancy place but it's clean and spacious. The owner is gentle, thorough and excellent with my son's hair. Prices are extremely reasonable! Highly recommend this place for a no nonsense and great haircut!

Jimmy really knows how to cut asian women's hair. Every time I go, I also see a lot of guys who look like regulars. He always uses a razor on my hair to thin it out and give it tons of flattering shape as my hair is generally really thick. After my first hair cut by Jimmy, I got lots of compliments and my coworkers they even went to get theirs cut there too. He spends his time, checks at the end meticulously to make sure there are no strays or uneven areas. I haven't been anywhere else in years and really happy he is open again after a long hiatus due to covid. Super affordable. People come out a give a local small business a try.

A friend wanted to get a haircut, so I decided to tag along and try somewhere new. I never would have noticed this place, but was so happy that I did come along. Very affordable haircut and knew exactly how to style my hair to look good even though I didn't give him very many instructions.

I tried cutting my own hair today and failed miserably.. Searched for "walk-in haircuts" and found 99. I went in and asked Jim to rescue whatever's left. Jim was patient and detailed oriented - it took almost over an hour, but the end result was better than expected given he was started with a fiasco. price-wise, Usually a haircut like this easily run upwards $100 for me, today I only spent $20, plus $8 tips to Jim for literally saving my life.

There are lots of inconspicuous barbershops & hair salons along the Berkeley/Albany/El Cerrito stretch of San Pablo - most are inexpensive, fast, and mediocre. This one doesn't look special, but the owner/hairstylist is a gem. It seems to be a one-man show, since I've only ever seen Jim here. After having him cut my kids' hair several times and seeing what a great job he's consistently done, I decided to ask him to cut my own, and I've been delighted with the results. He charges a fraction of what high-end salons do (I tip very generously), but does a fantastic job! He is a man of few words but I've had no problem conveying what I want. It's mostly a walk-in business, and it's a safer bet on weekdays, but if you're wiling to wait a bit he'll usually have time.

Jim is a patient guy and really nice. Plus, prices are adorable for all walks of life. My go-to for a haircut in El Cerrito!

Owner's super friendly, speaks English, Cantonese, and mandarin! So I was able to tell him what I wanted in English, and he'd speak back to me to clarify things in Cantonese. Very good cut, and at $13..?! I told him what I wanted, and he offered suggestions and asked if I wanted to try X instead of Y, and clarified with me as he did each step. Good sign that the dude wants the customer to be happy, especially since I have no clue how to explain how i want my hair done!
