“UMP is an AMAZING preschool! We can’t say enough wonderful things about their school and staff. The classroom sizes are small, they are play based, the children get so much one on one attention. I was so impressed with how they interact with every child and how they tailor themselves to be the teacher that their children need. They give so much love and one-on-one attention because of their small size. They offer so many interactive activities for the kids each and every day. I was so impressed when I went for the parent teacher meeting, the teachers had tracked everything our little one had done; they showed us the ways that he was excelling and the things that he was still learning. They are full of positive wonderful people who are there to care for and shape the minds of our little ones. My son was happy and excited to be there from day one. I am never nervous about leaving him there. I know that he is in warm, loving hands. I love all the things they offer for him. They have chapel on Wednesdays, as well as a music class. They engage with them and offer enrichment classes. Their playground is really played in and has so many fun things the kids love to do whether it’s imaginative play, digging in the sand, or playing on the play equipment. Besides that, I also feel very safe there. I love that each and every day I get pictures posted to my brightwheel app of my child throughout the day. We were at another preschool and we would be lucky if we would get one picture at the end of the week. Here I get to see everything he’s doing throughout the day. They also are very quick to answer messages and or phone calls. My only complaint is that they don’t have an elementary school. I am so excited to send my second born here next year. I think what they do is incredible and they deserve so much praise! Thank you for loving my child and making school fun and positive!”
“I cannot speak highly enough of Alamo Montessori and all that Marnie and her team have done for our little boy.We enrolled our son at 18 months, the youngest age that AM accepts (which is lower relative to many Montessori programs in the area!) While I knew that it would be a big transition for him, I was comforted when Marnie asked us to come see the program in action and let him join in for two short visits prior to our first day.At the time, he was shy, attached, and was behind in his speech. Since then, he has grown into such a confident, personable, and intuitive little boy. I attribute so much of that to AM's approach to learning. They paint, do science experiments, read books, sing songs, and play outside every day. They let the child lead with their interests, but also expose them to experiences that I don't have the patience for (or the willingness to clean up!). He is constantly coming home with new skills, songs and words in his vocabulary. He gets so much focused attention and I can tell that he is incredibly well loved and cared for. We communicate and receive photos through an app, and there are twice yearly "parent teacher conferences" where we get an update on how he is doing. He has thrived under their care. I truly believe that placing him in Alamo Montessori has been one of the best things we have done for him. I am so grateful.”

“Great pre-school, convenient location, amazingly caring and friendly staff! Our two kiddos always excited to go to school in the morning. Yes, there’s a waitlist but that’s just a general issue in this area.”
“This preschool is an excellent example of how early childhood education should be.
Our son joined the Turtles class mid-year, and his ability to adapt immediately spoke volumes about the teachers at this school. Prior to Dorris-Eaton, he attended another preschool nearby, where drop-offs remained challenging for several months and he showed frequent hesitancy and apprehension with going to school. But here at DE, I was relieved and grateful to see that he immediately felt comfortable, safe and happy.
Dorris-Eaton Preschool truly provided a nurturing environment, allowing our son to thrive academically and socially. I appreciated how each project involved not only math/reading/critical thinking but also exercising scissor/gluing/coloring skills. At home, our son would either sing a new song, spoke Spanish or tell us about an artist and their artwork -- all of which he learned from his Music, Spanish and Art classes. Our son also learned how to make friends and interact with other kids, including those from other classrooms.
Words can't express how grateful I am for the teachers here. You can just tell they enjoy being teachers at this school. I've picked up my son during different times of the day and the way the teachers interact with the kids have been consistently fun, genuine, loving and respectful. Thank you, teachers!!
Highly recommend to all parents in search of an excellent preschool. We will miss Dorris-Eaton Preschool!”
