If you are going to go make sure to bring a friend or parent who loves retro games because you will blow their minds and will absolutely make their day.”
“My family and I had my father’s celebration of life ceremony at the Phoenix last week. We are extremely happy with how everything went. The Phoenix staff was super helpful with all of the planning. I worked closely with Ms. Saskia Winter, the founder. We exchanged many emails and she was always responsive and answering all of my questions, which helped a lot. I also visited the venue twice. The staff, (Julie, Artie, and Lakisha) on the day of the event was also super helpful. Things went smooth once the event started. The space was intimate which made it easy for people to connect and mingle. We had food set up and a few decorations. I’m happy we decided to use the Phoenix to remember and honor my father. I highly recommend hosting an event there. You will not be disappointed.”
“We had our 48th Encinal HS Reunion last night here and can't say enough about this event space. The all volunteer staff was fabulous to work with and accommodated our every need. Thanks to them our reunion was a success!”
“We had my parents celebration of life service there at Eagles Hall and it was AMAZING !!! Although it was a gloomy and emotional day the staff at Eagles Hall was exceptional !!! they took care of all our needs . A special shout out to Ernie and i believe her name was Donna ( the bar tenders ) for making it a smooth day. and also Judi Tansey. THANK GUYS ! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING EAGLES HALL. ??”
“Nice people - But they are Elks, what do you expect!
We dry camped, that is all they offer.
The lodge tour was wonderful!!! What a cool lodge building.
They are a block from Main Street Alameda, lots of different food choices.
Try Signal coffee, you will understand how a small shop does coffee better than next door Peet’s or Starbucks.”
“My daughter was here for summer camp so they were outside but the building itself inside is beautiful! Great for a wedding or other formal even if they host them. (One of the bathroom.doors doesn't close all the way and should be fixed.)”
“We just went on the 4th of July dinner, dance watch fire works cruise on the bay. It was great. We have seen the Cabernet Sauvignon yacht docked in Alameda when we go walking along the shore but never really thought about looking into cruises. We boarded around 6:30 after getting checked in. The bars opened at 6:30 (2nd and 3rd deck) so it seemed like a good first stop upon boarding. Buffet dinner of chicken, hand cut prime rib, sauteed vegetables, salad, lemon rice, and cheese cake started just after 7. I had 2 helpings and cleared my plate both times. Delicious. Back to the bars. Both had beer, wine and spirits. The upstairs bar had the good tequila as well as more premium spirits. Around 9:30 we were in position off the San Francisco waterfront to watch the fireworks. The open top deck was perfect for viewing. It was somewhat clear earlier I the evening but of course the fog rolled in just in time for the festivities. It was still a good show. The DJ was playing tunes all night on the 3rd deck but the dancing really started after the fireworks. The crowd was mixed but everyone was pleasant. The over zealous clean up crew decided to grab our drinks while dancing. The bar crew replaced them even when the bar was technically closed. Huge props to them. Will definitely do this again. Maybe for fleet week when the planes are flying.”
“Overall, this facility is good for everyone from the most experienced gum buff to an ever so often gym goer. Not sure when all the construction will be done, so thats a bummer, way to noisy some days. The women's locker room could use some updates- in a major way. Replacing fixtures and some repair would go a long way. Still giving BSFC 4 stars because for the monthly price still best bargain for all it's offerings.”

“I took my 9 year old grandson to visit the Hornet. Being a WWII buff, he was totally captivated and amazed. The views of the City were spectacular. Our docent, Dede, led us on a great tour of the Island and shared lots of interesting information. I hope that she is there for our next visit. Thanks Dede. The Hornet is definitely worth a visit. Don't miss it...”
