“I really can’t overstate how great this store is. I started coming here toward the end of last year and couldn’t be happier I did. Mike curates an awesome shop with a jaw dropping selection of current and retired sets. There’s something for every type of Lego collector. What’s more, his prices are incredibly fair and tremendously generous. I wish other small business toy shops would take page out of his book. Brick by Brick is easily the best in the Bay and you’d be hard pressed to prove me otherwise.”
“I often pop in here to get second hand clothes or shoes for my kids. Recently it was my son's 4th birthday and we were all home sick. He had been asking everyday for over a month if his birthday was tomorrow and if he could please have a spider stuffie. He was so sad to miss his birthday at school and I had had no time to buy him a present because we had back ti back illnesses for a month. I called Kelly's corner, they had one and asked if I could pay over the phone and have her toss it out the door to me so as not to infect anyone .she was so sweet and offered to drive the gift to my house (we lived nearby)after work. She even wrapped it in a gift bag and added a few trinkets. It made his day and meant so much to me. Thank you!”
“I've been going here ever since I was pregnant with my son, and now expecting my next child. Conveniently located across the Prenatal care at Kaiser. They always have an adorable collection of clothes and they have Jellycat plushies! I stopped by here just to see if they had the Jellycat turtle for my son before purchasing online, and I was able to spot it right away. Everything is fairly priced as well and the workers are always nice when I am here. Happy that this place has stuck around :) picture of my pleased toddler with his new turtle attached.”

1405 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Berkeley“This is the only store we purchase toys from. Unique items and pricing is reasonable, along with stellar customer service. We recently purchased 2 items, one being oversized that is shipping out of state. Their standard shipping fee is $10.00 though due to the item's size, it was estimated to be more. The store called to ask if we were OK with the additional shipping fees. We appreciate the call, which you would never get from the big box stores or Amazon.”
“This little guy took a big trip home to Victoria, Australia, 35 years ago. We’ve loved him ever since and want another one the same for our little girl due in December. Thank you for a childhood full of happy memories.”
“Shop associates are quick and efficient in answering your questions or showing their offerings! Such an expansive selection of party games, card games, and tabletop games for the avid D&D connoisseur.”

1506 Walnut St, Berkeley“If you have a small grandchild and have not yet visited Dimples, you have a great treat in store. The story is visually the proverbial candy store, something good everywhere you look.In the three seasons since I discovered Dimples and became addicted, the owner/buyer, Tatiana, has not made a false move. Everything is not only adorable but completely wearable. Fabrics are soft; brands are specialty but affordable. There is lots of selection and a few perfect toys to round out birthday giving. There are also a few mom gifts; check out the earrings for yourself.I always wonder about incredibly positive reviews, so I assure you I did not know the owner until I wandered in the first time. I only have so many pictures [from two different visits] since I send then to my daughter to vet my choices. I only have little boys to buy for so the pictures may not amaze you. If you have a daughter or granddaughter....!”
“This is such a great toy store! I’ve enjoyed shopping for my grandkids here for several years now - they always have something cool and unique. Even little kids appreciate that. ?”
10AM - 6PM
1361 Solano Ave, Albany“My bf and I went to fuel our inner child on Valentines Day and just so happened to come across this incredible toy store. Not only do they have an incredible variety and selection of both used and new toys-- they have options for all socioeconomic statuses. Even if you have a couple of bucks you can find something special to take home! How cool!!! Additionally, we had a heartfelt convo with the owner of the store and her son. Great people, great value, and super great toys!!! We will be back:)”
“Sales attendant are so helpful and cheerful. So many different educational toys on display for kids to play with. Monthly events usually occur on weekends-today's was Pete the Cat which consisted of book readings and arts and crafts. One star deducted for the small parking lot. It is also an outlet store with a lot of their mark downs below that include furniture.”
10AM - 6PM
4048 Piedmont Ave, Oakland“Wasn't sure what to make of this shop when I first moved into the neighborhood, but two years later I don't know what I'd do without it! They have a very well-curated selection of cards, way better than you'd find in a drug store or supermarket. They also have a constantly rotating collection of random giftable items that have helped me out in a pinch on several occasions. Prices might be a bit higher than some other places, but good taste doesn't come cheap!”
“Excellent selection and customer service. We had a rough time planning for Christmas this year. I ordered a handful of items online and they wrapped everything free of charge and had it ready to go for us. They have a large selection of dress up toys, second hand clothing, and toys that encourage imaginative play.”
“This is a pretty cool place. Lots to see and good prices. Jorge is down to earth and has a passion for his expertise. Did some cool trades and just chilling and chopping it up with him is nice. Got to love the life size ET ?. See you soon man.”
“Let me just say, ignore the negative reviews below. You can check their instagram which they update whether they'll be open or not on the weekend. If not, give them a call and they'll confirm. That said, this place is a hidden gem as it's located in an alley street in front of FedEx. I took my son and my father who are huge Kamen Rider fans, and we were stuck in the store for over an hour. Very huge selection of vintage figures of any Japanese hero you can think of from 1980s to 2000s that are hard to find nowadays. My son enjoyed it so much, i want to bring him back every month.”
“The Lawrence Hall of is an amazing place! Perfect place for kids to explore and play. Different aspects of science to appease whatever mood he's in and keep him engaged and curious. I love all of the hands on activities and fun ways to learn science concepts. It's not filled with a bunch of exhibits with reading and pictures only, but actual activities with included supplies or high quality displays to touch. Only thing I would change would the food selection. The cafe has been closed and the snacks in the gift shop are hardly foods that any responsible parent would give their kids (the most nutritious thing is a lunchable or protein pack with almonds and cheese). The rest are chips/candy/cookies. So bring your own lunch.”
10AM - 6PM
3212 College Ave, Berkeley“Maggie is friggin wonderful. About a year ago I started a personal conscierge service. Needless to say I'm still learning how to shop for items that are not PS5 or Steam related. Good ole Maggie eased my anxiety and made it an overall pleasant interaction. Once again. Thank you young lady. You're the bomb.”
10AM - 8PM
5604 Bay St, Emeryville“Nice location with plenty of options to choose from. I came in not expecting to get anything but ended up nabbing an activity book from the children's section for my toddler. Easy checkout with friendly customer service.”
“Very cute toy shop down this street. It's 2 stories and is decorated from top to bottom. Definitely a great place to bring your kids or just to look around if you just like cute things in general. They have gift wrapping here as well and there's some children's books on the top floor. Lots of unique toys that you generally won't find in big retail stores with a toy section, but they have some popular and familiar characters, brands, and series too (Minecraft, Sonic, etc.). Of all the shops down this street, I think this one stood out the most.”
10AM - 8PM
5731 Christie Ave, Emeryville“Carter’s baby clothing store located in the Bay Street Mall has a wonderfully helpful staff and a great selection of baby & toddler clothing. They also have great age appropriate toys. And many of their items, both toys and clothing are discounted!”

3040 E 9th St, Oakland“I've only been into this location 3 times so far. And only started coming recently. And I've got to say, the staff is fantastic! You couldn't ask for more friendly and helpful people! Super welcoming! Absolutely top notch! Went in today and they had everything I was looking for. I will be a regular at this store from this point on. Thanks for the great service!!!”

3288 Pierce St # A108, Richmond“Tucked in a quiet corner of the 99 Ranch complex is Candy Box. The store is stuffed full of adorable anime and Studio Ghibli paraphernalia. You no longer have to go to Japan Town to get your fix. The owner of lovely and her offerings are unique. I can't wait to go back!”
11AM - 9PM
1159 W A St, Hayward“After years of not playing Call of Duty, my PS4 was just sitting collecting dust. Needless to say I all of a sudden wanted to play and drove out to this location. Val was our helper and as soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted even though she had about 7 other customers ahead of us. She was running back and forth attending everyone in order. Not sure if she was the only one scheduled but it was pretty busy around 4 pm. She killed it! Found the games everyone was looking for through the computer and running to the section where they are located. Some she even knew precisely where they were located without the help of the computer like WHATTTTT! She helped me sign up for the rewards program they offer with my phone number and even gave my discount that same day. Val you are a superstar and wish you the best of luck with the company. Please shout her out or give some kind of recognition she deserves.”

“I have come in several times! I love this place! I live in Pleasanton CA. We recently had a toy store open up in town. It's nice, but my grand daughter and a couple of her friends started to go in and were kicked out because they had starbucks drinks (all with lids) and the woman there was quite rude about it. That doesn't make me want to go there.! Montclair Toyhouse is the place to go!! Always friendly and helpful!”
9AM - 9PM
15555 E 14th St, San Leandro“I drove from Stockton to San Leandro this morning to pick up some party supplies that were not in stock closer to me. I arrived 10 minutes before they opened and crossed my fingers they would answer. Mike answered the phone and i asked if i could pick up early as i had to open my store in Stockton at 9. He pleasantly found the order and quickly sent an associate out with it. I made it back with 5 minutes to spare. Thanks so much for your help!”
“This place has more toys in one section than ToyRUs had in an aisle. It's HUGE. I mean floor to ceiling, it's packed with all different types of games and toys for children all ages! The pricing is average. But honestly I could spend all day in this store and still not see everything. I went shopping for my baby brother but I was mesmerized myself and felt so nostalgic. They have fun toys and if you look carefully great toys for kids to help learn STEM”
