This is the only place I get my hair cut! Worth the drive over from the East Bay. They know how to cut Asian hair and I always leave loving how my hair looks even if I decided to try something different. I usually request Erica but Lily has also done a great job!

I'm heartbroken, I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I really wanted to give my haircut the chance but I haven't stopped crying since I walked out. Went in for a trim for my pixie, just wanting to tidy things up before I went on vacation and I am now canceling my trip because of how insecure I am. Called Max at the salon who knew that he f***** up my hair, cut it wayyyy too short and he was not apologetic, was like "well yoI don't know what possessed him to cut off almost all of my hair, but I hate it and Max, you f***** up my holiday and I cry when I look in the mirror.

I am surprised I haven't written a review for this salon yet! I've been coming here ever since a friend recommended this place and I LOVE IT! It's so much more affordable than other salons and you get the same quality. I've been coming here to get a balayage and lob cut and get compliments every time :)

This review is long overdue. I've been going to Tomo's since I was in high school (1994) and they've seen their fair share of updates and changes but their quality has always been top-notch. The quality of their stylists I think is one of their best qualities. They're all professional and it shows in their outcome. The amenities of the place have been refreshed and it helps with the vibrant and friendly mood of the business. I may be biased but it's Alameda's friendly neighborhood hair spot. Definitely well worth checking them out and visiting. You won't be disappointed. Trust me, it's been 28 years :)

My husband and I have been going to Tomo for the past 10 years. Every time we visit the salon, Lilly's always take good care of us. She always give great recommendations on what style works best for us. The whole staff is always nice and friendly. Highly recommend Tomo. Keep up the good works guys!

Owned by the most passive-aggressive, petty, and unprofessional individual I've ever met in my experience going to get my hair done. If you don't believe me, read some of his "responses" to customers who left negative reviews. I have no doubt he will leave an unnecessarily rude and disgusting response to this. That'll just prove my point. If you want to feel respected and treated like a human being, DO NOT come here.

The employees are extremely rude and condescending. I scheduled an appointment for 6 pm earlier that day around 11:30 am and came for my appointment at 5:50 pm. The second I walked into the door, the hair stylist rolled their eyes and sarcastically greeted me with horrible attitude. I told them I had an appointment at 6 pm and it's my assumption they thought it was at 5 pm, which is why he was rude thinking he waited an hour. Still not a valid excuse to treat people that way. I said I didn't have to get the haircut if they didn't have time and he insisted and said he was only upset because I came right when he needed to pee?? The person at the front was just laughing along with him and I felt extremely uncomfortable. She said "Oh her appointment was at 6" and that's when I said I didn't want to be there anymore and left. She asked why as I was heading out the door but it was quite obvious. I heard many many good things from a friend of mine and was looking forward to getting my haircut, but didn't even get a chance to because I couldn't stand to be in that environment.

First time here and the service was amazing! It was very 1 on 1 and I felt comfortable right off the bat! I'm usually hesitant when it comes to getting haircuts but after today I definitely will be returning again!

I made an appointment at 1:45 PM and didn’t get seated until 3 PM. When I finally got taken to the chair, the stylist apologized and said that when she came in today she saw the schedule and how it got overbooked. I asked if they had tried calling me to tell me that to which she did not have a reply to.I understand that admin/schedule mishaps happen but how it is handled is also important.

Two haircuts for my daughter and I today Sunday, by Jane. She did exactly what we ask and was fast enough. The prices where fair. It's been a long time since I've been here glad I came.
