Karen did a truly excellent job doing some wedding alterations for us! Not only did she make some adjustments like letting out the pants and shortening my vest (not pictured), she also beautifully transformed a jacquard blazer into a vest so seamlessly it looks like it was always that way.

I came to Karen to make a dress from scratch. She makes very beautiful corsets, which was a big piece of my dress, however it was just too expensive for me to have made, so we decided that I would find the corset elsewhere and she would then complete the dress. She found an amazing silk material, and in the most perfect shade of green that I could've asked for. The dress was absolutely gorgeous! I was very happy with the way it all came together, and I know it was a bit complex. The only drawback is that it came to be way over the initial quote, by about 50% which was unexpected. I would recommend her though if you're looking for a good quality dressmaker. My dress came out exactly as I had hoped.

Karen was very efficient, knowledgeable and accommodating to all of my wishes. She altered my vintage wedding dress to perfection! Also, my groom’s tuxedo pants. I would highly recommend her, especially with all of your special vintage needs!

Love love love Karen. She turned my Vera Wang wedding gown into a corseted back and created a beautiful bustle! I couldn't have been happier about how my wedding dress turned out. So much so that a year later I'm bring my husbands and my clothes for small alterations and again have been so happy with the results. Already making a new small pile of clothes to bring back to her soon. Thanks Karen, you rock!

Karen is the loveliest and super talented. She made a custom jumpsuit for me for my upcoming wedding. It was based off one I already owned. She made great recommendations on fabric and potential embellishments. She was great at walking a fine line between suggestions and working with my poorly articulated vision. I think that she could probably take on projects more complex than mine - be sure to talk to her for design/alteration/restoration needs. You want to be in her hands.

Karen is AMAZING! I found her through my sister, who had a few friends that went to her for their wedding dress alterations. My wedding dress had a lot of delicate beading, so I wanted to make sure to take it to the right person. At the first meeting, she did a thorough inspection of my dress - she looked at each layer of material, where the seams were, the design of the beading, the types of materials, and the hem itself. She first asked me what I thought needed to be done, and then made her suggestions. I had my second fitting a month later. Among other things, she had taken the dress in at the hips - she had to take in 6 layers of fabric! The seams along the boning were so clean you wouldn't even know there was work done. She had saved all of the loose beads and by the third fitting had continued the design at the area she altered - you wouldn't even know that there was work done in that area. She is very professional and a pleasure to work with. If you need any other convincing besides all of the stellar reviews, just take a look at her bio on her website - she has an amazing resume!

She's still awesome! Picked up my dress and nearly cried. Totally worth every cent, and will likely use her again for various formal dress events... You won't be disappointed. I promise to post pictures from the wedding so you can see more of her custom details on my dress. She worked with me to change a David's bridal dress into something altogether MORE! Thank you again Karen!

Karen created an amazing vintage 1860's gown for me to wear at Victorian balls. My husband and I enjoy dancing at vintage dance events and needed special outfits that would not only be period accurate, but would be comfortable and fun to wear. She and I worked together to design the dress, buy the fabric and all of the accoutrements that would go on the dress (flowers, lace, ribbon). I found the whole process overwhelming at the start, but in Karen's capable hands she expertly walked me through every step. She was clear about the time it would take and the cost to create such a dress from scratch. We went through many fittings to make sure it was right. Karen even took the time to teach my husband how to dress me and to fix the flowers in my hair. She made two vests for him, one which matches my dress perfectly. We couldn't have been more pleased with the experience and the results. Karen is a wonder and I can't thank her enough for her excellent vision and work.

Karen did the alterations on my wedding dress that I ordered from out of state. We had several fittings where we tweaked and fine tuned the dress until it was perfect, and I never felt rushed or like I was taking up too much of her time. Her work space is in a magical sewing attic that would make any crafty person jealous. Caution to those who can't do stairs as you have to climb quite a few to get to the magical sewing room. What I loved most about working with Karen is that she is flexible, sweet, and above all honest about what we could and couldn't do. She gave her professional opinion on things but also tried her best to meet the vision I had. She even helped make my dress fit to both my heels AND flats which I didn't think was going to be possible but she did it! She is also a magician of bustles and was totally fine with my MOH coming to fittings to learn about and practice the bustle herself. My 3 point bustle with french under bustle was simple (according to her) but she showed us diagrams of the crazy extensive bustles she's had to design in the past for other dresses, and let me just say, this takes a special mind to design and figure out. Added plus was seeing all of the vintage era dresses she was working on for different ballroom and renaissance type events, they were elaborate and beautiful! I recommend Karen if you want your fittings to feel as special and magical as they should be, in a whimsical sewing attic, with a sweet little seamstress who does great work!

Karen is a detail-oriented, kind-hearted, and honest to boot! I brought my wedding dress in for alterations a few months before the wedding and received an estimate that matched exactly what I ended up paying - this is a testament to how experienced Karen is and how well she knows her craft! She is not the type of person to overcharge you just to make a buck either -- she is an honest professional and it was a pleasure working with her on such an important project. The dress had very intricate details, LOTS of tulle and an illusion neckline that needed to be taken up -- all this and Karen did such a fantastic job that the dress looked like it came off the rack and just happened to fit me perfectly! With each fitting, it became more and more clear that Karen loved her work. She paid a lot of attention to the details of the dress and recommended a few things here and there to help make it look even better. I would highly recommend Studio Trousseau for tailoring and alterations, especially for intricate and delicate pieces like wedding dresses!

Karen is the best!! She restored my mother-in-law's 50-year old wedding dress, and it looked more beautiful than I ever could have hoped. It fit like a glove and added such a special touch to our wedding. Thanks again for everything. I'm so lucky to have found you!
