Brought in an heirloom ring to be reshanked and resized for my engagement proposal. The team at Seelenbacher did an excellent job for a good price.
It was my first time doing this kind of transaction with a jeweler, but I will be returning to them for any needs in the future!

It’s not everyday that you meet really cool people and meeting Chris at his store was a true pleasure. I needed a set of springbars for my watch and he meticulously inspected the lugs of the watch and looked for the best springbars available. He treated the whole thing so professionally and with so much attention to detail. After he handed me over my watch with the new springbars, I asked how much it cost. He smiled and said it was no trouble. I insisted but he said it was really nothing. This type of gesture deserves a great deal of positive karma and good luck that I truly wish comes Chris’ way in abundance. I know I’ll think of him and his store when I need to buy my wife some jewelry for sure. I hope you consider his store seriously when shopping for jewelry too.

Rude owner, it was 2:16pm when I arrived and 2:20pm AT BEST when I left, and he was acting like he wanted to shoo me out the door when I was nothing but polite to him. Not to mention him picking up the jewelry I showed him (to inquire if a necklace that was printed 'sterling' on the back truly was sterling silver) just for them to huff, grab it, check it for 2 seconds under their magnifying glass tool, then practically slam-toss it at the table to tell me its costume jewelry.Then acted extremely rude when I asked the proper way to clean that type of non-SS metal jewelry, to clean it yet not rust. They said "I guess just use baking soda and water. That's it", bluntly and matter-of-factly, as if I'm some moron. Not great at all.The young lady who previously checked my diamond ring for me and politely said "Holy mackerel" after it indeed tested real, was sweet though and deserves all the blessings in the world.The older man working there needs to improve his customer service skills. Big yikes around.

Chris is immensely helpful and offers some wonderful suggestions with higher quality in mind. He helped me on an engagement ring project and fixed some watch battery issues along the way. Once again, I am most satisfied by my experience at Seelenbacher Jewelers of Alameda. This time, I brought my mother's high school ring in for the repair of a cracked shank, and once again Chris did a beautiful job. I'm sure the ring has not looked this good since my mom received it in 1961!: ) Super happy to have a family heirloom taken care of as it should be, and now i can wear it every day.
