Been living on Bayfarm for over 10 years now so this place has always been clutch when it came to having things I needed in a pinch, the selection of items hasn’t differed too greatly from back then. The older staff have always been nice and friendly, cant say the same for the young adults. Just last week I came in the evening to buy some groceries and this really ticked off teenager double ringed my item, and told me to have a nice day in a very passive aggressive tone, lovely guy.

The best Safeway I've ever been to. Best customer service. Hard workers. There to help. Clean ambiance. The very best. And so inclusive, thank you for promoting lunar new year in a country that overlooks the Asian American crisis. Thank you for always providing superior service. I love shopping at Safeway on Island Drive in Alameda, CA. It might not be the largest supermarket but it is dependable. Small but mighty. "Small" depends on who's comparing size. Hands down, my favorite Safeway ever!!!!

This safeway need to do something about the staff in the food area. They just hide and try not serve, I mean literally the guy seen me waiting for 5-10 minutes so I can get my order but he just plays dumb. I mean I understand they have other things to do but how are you not gonna serve your customers!

This is my favorite Safeway in Alameda. It's the safest and cleanest. The staff are friendly and quick to help when needed. They have 4 self checkout areas and a few cashiers. The parking lot is well lit and plenty of parking. I love how I can quickly pop in and get what I need and leave. The bakery items are not as plentiful as other Safeway's in Alameda but it's ok. They have bread and cakes available.

For the second time, I buy a gift card that does not work or has been used by someone. It is a really bad store, and I will not return to it again, and I do not advise anyone to go to it. They deliberately scam the gift card because they know that the money cannot be refunded.

Forgot to grab some bananas last night from my local Safeway Near my place. So decided to come to this Safeway 3 Minutes from my job. This Safeway opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at midnight. Convenient times especially for people that work in Alameda Bay Farm and need to grab something for lunch or on the go. Staff is always friendly and do greet you if they see you walk in. The lady at the self checkout always thanks you for shopping when you pay and leave. I do notice that during busy times especially during lunch when they get packed, staff is less happy to see you. But still have not ran into a "rude" associate. They are always packing merchandise at all times of the day the times I've stopped by. For the most part they do have shelves filled. My only complaint would be In the Hot Food/Deli area. Like I mentioned they are always packed during lunch time which seems to be from 11:30 to 1:30pm. They are usually out of most foods if you go past 12. So it's a bummer and you I usually have to settle for something else or prepacked meals. Overall, it's a nice quiet Safeway to stop by and pick up something you forgot or need.

Recently shopped at Island Drive, and unfortunately left dog food behind by accident - with the help of the store manager William managed to work out it was left in the cart in the parking lot, as he took the time to check. Though it seemed someone else shopping that day got a free bag, as a courtesy the store manager extended a replacement bag to me which was greatly appreciated. Will continue to shop at Safeway regularly!

I received my RSV vaccination at South Shore Alameda today. The service was excellent and i told the man who gave me the shot that it was the best I have ever had. I felt nothing.

It's usually pleasant at this store. Clean and friendly too! The checkers are very nice, friendly and patient.
