Very disappointed in the store manager. I was there in the early evening and they closed all self check outs and forced lines of dozens of people. When I asked to speak with a manager she informed me they prioritize online orders over in store customers. I have been shopping at Safeway over 40 years and have noticed a serious decline in customer service. Very poor experience.

I have used the Southshore Safeway for over twenty years. There has always been a great community of employees and familiar faces who are helpful, kind, and hardworking. Since COVID I’ve really enjoyed their Drive Up & Go service too. It’s easy to use and convenient.
Today there was a mistake with my order I got a quick call while I waited in my car with an explanation and a quick resolve.
Lastly, I also use their pharmacy and that group of knowledgeable people are the best!
Appreciate this store and mall very much.

this ONLINE ORDER DEPT IS HORRIBLE AS I HAD TO CALL AT LEAST 4 TIMES AND BEEN LIED TO .. NEVER REC'D MY ORDER AS THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ANY RESOLUTION ,,. HORRIBLE CSR...REPLYING TO OWNER BELOW. YOUR NIGHT MANAGER ADVISED MY DELIVERY WAS BEING PROCESSED AS i DID CALLED 5 TIMES TO GET SOMEONE AT 950PM THURSDAY AS I DID STAY UP !!THEN MORNING CREW TOLD ME IT WAS CANCELED AS i DID TALK TO CSR CORP FOR THE ONLINE ORDER THEY SAID IT WAS NOT CANCELED ,, SO PRETTY SURE NO ONE IS GONNA CONTACT ME AS i KNOW i HAVE BEEN LIED TO AS WELL AS HORRIBLE CSR AT YOUR STORE..i WANT MY $$ BACK

This morning at Safeway's Starbucks, I experienced emotional mistreatment after politely requesting the employee to focus on taking orders instead of multitasking on the phone.
My order was overlooked, and when I inquired about it after waiting, I was refunded and denied service because of my earlier comment.
However, I am grateful for the swift and humble resolution provided by the general manager, Gloria (apologies if misspelled).

Shoppers Beaware!!!!! My cards has been compromised twice at this Safeway. The first time was 3/12/24, self-check out. I provided the Assistant manager with all of my documentations. As of today, I have not heard back from Safeway. On Monday 5/6/24, my information was stolen again. The bank notified me on 5/9/24. I'm in the process of filing a Police Report. I think it is an inside issue. I called the Store Mananger, my call was transferred but he or she did not pick up the call. SHOPPER BEAWARE, SHOPPER BEAWARE!!!!!!!!!!

Safeway at South Shore Alameda is pretty legit. Found everything I needed, especially all that keto stuff, and zipped in and out without a hitch. Self-checkout was a breeze - no line! Even snagged a sweet parking spot. Gotta say, prices aren’t low, but for the convenience and selection, it's worth it. Definitely making this spot my go-to for shopping. Solid 4 stars!

Safeway store is clean and organized, similar to other locations within the grocery chain. I usually stop by for their fried chicken at the hot foods counter and various types of breads/pastries/donuts they make from their bakery. Today, I was happy to discover multigrain croissants! Tried one and it was better than expected - still had the nice buttery croissant flavor and decent flakiness to it, despite being more dense due to the multigrain flour and seeds it is made out of. I hope this becomes a regular item they bake. What I most appreciate about Safeway is that most locations like this one, are a designated spot where you can bring your plastic film recycling (clean cling wrap, plastic wrap, plastic packaging) to drop off. The bin is located next to their regular recycling, compost, and trash bins by the entrance .
