Forgot to grab some bananas last night from my local Safeway Near my place. So decided to come to this Safeway 3 Minutes from my job. This Safeway opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at midnight. Convenient times especially for people that work in Alameda Bay Farm and need to grab something for lunch or on the go. Staff is always friendly and do greet you if they see you walk in. The lady at the self checkout always thanks you for shopping when you pay and leave. I do notice that during busy times especially during lunch when they get packed, staff is less happy to see you. But still have not ran into a "rude" associate. They are always packing merchandise at all times of the day the times I've stopped by. For the most part they do have shelves filled. My only complaint would be In the Hot Food/Deli area. Like I mentioned they are always packed during lunch time which seems to be from 11:30 to 1:30pm. They are usually out of most foods if you go past 12. So it's a bummer and you I usually have to settle for something else or prepacked meals. Overall, it's a nice quiet Safeway to stop by and pick up something you forgot or need.

I received my RSV vaccination at South Shore Alameda today. The service was excellent and i told the man who gave me the shot that it was the best I have ever had. I felt nothing.

I've been going to this Safeway for years and really appreciate having it here so conveniently located. It's clean, safe and carries what you need. The staff are very friendly. On occasion they run out of something, but I find that happens with other grocery stores too. It's a good little Safeway!

I'm not sure why folks give this place such a low rating. The store is clean. No panhandlers out front. I felt safe. The service is lacking, but that's because ALL Safeway Stores are short-staffed. I had a bacon and egg croissant for breakfast and it was good.

Curious the rating is so low at this location. I never negative customer service at this location. Today is my 2nd drive up, pick up order. The employee carry a basket of my bags of items. My order is around 12 lbs. Unlike, my 1st order, he got a cart to push. Please make sure to provide a cart for your employee.Today's pick order, oranges are 5.25 lb. I charged twice on my receipt. I submitted a refund for missing item for one ($9.95) of it. Hopefully, it will take care of it soon. I can't find an option to add a notes when I submit the refund request.

Quality/Quantity - Hit and miss. It is sad that sometimes I have to drive to all 3 Safeways on the island to find and buy ad items... Why have advertised items if you will be out of stock??? In the past, I would not even try to buy ad items here as they were ALWAYS out. But recently they have surprised me and had items when the other two Safeways were out. Atmosphere - Small local Safeway. Limited departments. Easy mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 6am to midnight. Service - This used to have the best Safeway Store manager (6 years ago) of the 3 Alameda Safeways, not sure if he is still here? But service from the service departments (meat, produce) and cashiers have gone down significantly within the last year. The good news is that my regular cashiers are still here and good. Price - Average. But once in a while they have an amazing deal on their digital ad coupons (when in stock). Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1915 with your 904 locations in 17 states. In 2015, Albertsons purchased Safeway.

This Safeway is closest to my home and in a time crunch I come here rather than the other one located in the shopping center. However, I find in trying to save time, I regret patronizing here. In the past couple of years the quality of raw meat and store prepared foods has declined greatly. if you inspect the red meat, there is often rotting brown spots, but the sticker indicates it was packed within 1-2 days. Expect looooong wait times at the deli counter. You'll often see 3-4 people behind the counter, but none work the hot section or deli. No one looks up to make eye contact or call another associate. And does anyone work in the meat section? I hear them but never see them. i've gone as far as walking in the back and asking for help. The talking stops but no one comes out. Today I came in to pick up flowers for a friend. The bouquets looked so sad. Often mixed with vibrant flowers are wilting, pathetic ones. Every single bouquet had brown or dead petals. I know because I looked! I didn't have time to run to another store. If the quality control of this store improves, it would be greatly appreciated. Two stars are for the cashiers who I've found very friendly and helpful.

If it's customer service you expect, go somewhere else. Four days ago I ordered 4 dozen cupcakes for my brother's birthday. I came in to pick them up. No cupcakes. The staff there explained that something went wrong with their system and the order was canceled. They made it should like I was a fault. "Well, we emailed you". I was livid. Now I have to scramble to find 48 cupcakes for his birthday party. Thanks a bunch Safeway. You suck.

Terrible cashier abd customer service . Not following Safeway policy and I told her other Safeway stores and corporate states if something is mis-priced or mislabeled the cyst should get the item free or a $5 gift card. she said they don't do that. first of al, the pasta Safeway pasta was under the wrong tag says $1.99 (I was charged $4.99. She blamed customer. I showed her the picture I took. She wanted to go and check for herself..she came back and blamed customers abs told me Safeway dose not honor the price $1.99 (which is what I wanted abd I know many Safeways do honor that). (2) the watermelon i was charged $4.99 at first. The sign near the watermelon was 2 for $6 for members and there was another sign for $4.99. There were no cantaloupes in that bin. I did not read the fine print which I told the manager (hardly anyone does; plus there were no cantelopes in that bin). I showed the manager the picture I had it's completely different than when the cashier , customer service and produce person (took or had the phone picture that included the cantelopes) Mine was taken before the produce person which showed the cantaloupe by the watermelon (someone definitely put some there after the fact or moved stuff around). The cashier created a big deal about this. I just wanted Safeway to do the right thing but like a lot of corporate business they are not. I never read the fine print; I assume Safeway has their pricing and labeling correct and often I find that it's not right at the register that's why i sometimes take picture. There was another bin that had the cantaloupes which I was originally was going to buy but they looked spoiled for 2 for $6. I believe that they forgot to take the cantelope label off since they had another bin that was not full of cantaloupes. I can't believe that cashier went to check the price after I showed her these picture, called customer service and then the produce department when I asked for a manager and finally a manage. In the meantime customers behind we're getting upset abs even one said I will give $5 and I said no; it's not about the money and it's about doing safeway right thing. I actually had to swear to God that I didn't move the packages of the pasta and I swear that the cantelopes were not in the bin where the watermelon were. After, I showed the manager my picture she to them to give me the price of 2 for $6; yet the produce person was still arguing with me...I told her I'm don. They never corrected the pasta. The whole time while the produce person was there and the cashier abd the manager I was shaking and my blood pressure went up. The customer service man left after I asked if he was the manage abs he said no since I did ask for the manager...he did try to take their side abs I said there were only watermelons in that bin (he was always doing the right thing in the past). I'm still distraught by this whole thing and I'm shaking now. I vowed never to go to this Safeway on 867 island dr. Alameda ca 94502. I don't have faith in Humanity and trust that corporatio. It's really sad over a couple dollar. I'm sorry for the customers behind me. I'm tired of being bullied by bad customer service abd corporation.

A victim of Covid-19...??? Inflation....??? Corporate Greed...??? ALL OF THESE...!!! Brought home a $5 Friday All-American Sub sandwich today. These used to be a decent value, with ham, turkey, roast beef and cheese, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo, on a "huge" loaf of bread, could easily slice it into 4 decent size sandwiches. NOW, the only thing that has remained consistent is the "huge" loaf of bread and the lettuce....and might as well get rid of the "Sub" and just call it HAM, TURKEY and CHEESE...!!! Haven't had one in a long time so I'm not sure how long it has been mutilated into whatever you want to call it now...no longer the value I have expected to get, probably my LAST one ever..."buy at your own risk", there is NOTHING "All-American" about this...it is NOT a "Sub"...!!!

Attention deli people! You must change your gloves when helping a new customer and your gloves should be changed after you've touched all the handles and sliding doors or whatnot. New gloves shouldn't have to be asked of you when touching food. This should be automatic. Didn't you have to get certified when handling food products.

WEI thanks for the friendly service and perfectly made sandwich every time. When you're craving a fresh sandwich for lunch, come get one to go. Get the trio meats cold sandwich on regular roll with pepper jack cheese with mayonnaise and mustard. Don't thank me, just take a bite and relax.
