We just started going here with our greyhound puppy. We already love them. Stephanie and Dr Harris were absolutely lovely/attentive with Charlie. He got a cute calming pheromone bandana, they did a thorough exam, and checked everything we asked. They also acquired records from our previous vet, and printed them out for us. They're great!

I have been taking my dog, Ollie, to Providence Veterinary Hospital in Alameda for three years and my experience has been entirely positive. From the front desk to the technicians and vets, they are unfailingly kind, attentive, professional and effective. Our past engagements include surgery performed for three (!) hernias and an undescended testicle which went extremely well, with Ollie bouncing back to his old self within a few hours, and the incisions healing without any complications. I’m very grateful to the team at Providence, and will continue to depend on them for the excellent care that they provide.

Dr. Lender is an amazing vet and always takes great care of my kitties. I've seen other vets at this location as well, and everyone has been kind and helpful, but we especially like Dr. Lender. She is patient in answering my questions and I never feel rushed during my visits. My cats all seem to like her as well - one of my cats wouldn't stop purring so she could listen to his lungs!

I highly recommend Providence Veterinary Hospital for my cat's health needs. The staff provides excellent service and care. They can usually get me in to see the vet quickly.

When I acquired my latest 7 year old rescue in August 2023 I took the recommendations of many friends to take her to Providence...and I am glad I did ! While I was always pleased with my other vets, the oustanding care and concern at Providence exceeded my expectations. The entire staff at both alameda locations provided quality care for my dog, clear explanations and expectations to me, and value for the services provided. I highly recommend Providence Veterinary Hospital.

My husband and I were with Providence for MANY years, through multiple pets. We recently relocated to another county so we have to find a new vet. The care our pets received was generally good at this location, especially Dr. Clemens when one of our dogs underwent a lengthy heartworm protocol. She was very good, as was one particular friendly and high energy vet tech, whose name I unfortunately did not get (the Webster St. location is another story, though... very perfunctory and impersonal service there by comparison). The 3 stars off is for 2 reasons: 1) The rude, indifferent attitude of the front office staff at the Pacific location after I had emailed a very warm and appreciative farewell message, informing them that we were moving out of Alameda after many years of being longtime clients. I included holiday greetings and attached 2 cute photos of our dogs. The email response was brief and abrupt, and only addressed the portion of my email that related to our dogs' prescriptions. No acknowledgment or graciousness regarding our many years of loyal business, or a kind word wishing us well, etc. I had the same experience when I visited the office for the last time to pick up a prescription. I smiled and mentioned my email and reiterated about our move after our many years of being clients with Providence, and the receptionist could not have been more cold and indifferent. She acknowledged reading the email, but just curtly advised me to inform them when we find a new vet and they'll transfer our dogs' prescriptions. Again, no farewells, smiles, well-wishes, or any kind of graciousness. So I just turned and left the office for the last time feeling very awkward about the exchange. It was not a pleasant way to leave after so many years of loyal business. 2) As another reviewer below mentioned, I had routed my Providence Rx's to a well-known online pet Rx supplier due to their better price. Providence would not electronically send the Rx to that supplier, and made me pick up the hard copy Rx in person, which I then had to mail to the supplier via USPS. Nor did they offer to price match - whereby THEY would have retained my business for those Rx's. Instead, they allowed my dollars that I would have spent with them to go elsewhere. Not a smart business move, especially as I had spent thousands of dollars on their veterinary services over the years. They could sacrifice a few dollars on Rx's for loyal clients, in acknowledgment of the big $$$ they receive from them for in-office services - but they don't.

Was grateful for a late evening appointment on Nov 8, and had a super fun experience! Vet Tech Amy (Mimi) Sang went above and beyond in taking care of us and our senior dog, Nala. Both she and Dr. Claire Lender were so extremely helpful in breaking down the estimate of services and offering their professional opinion.Nala has been coming here since 2015 - and every time, we appreciate the care and compassion that the team extends to our pets. Our family is happier and healthier because of Providence - ya'll show up in the best possible way. Thank you.

I am a long time client; this is now my 3rd dog through the years that has been cared for at this site. The front desk staff are professional, helpful and friendly, both on the phone and on site. The Vet and staff are knowledgeable, gentle, good listeners, and show genuine care. The office is clean and modern. I always feel like I am getting the best care for my dog here.

We love Providence! I've been a cat parent going on 20 years, and Providence has provided outstanding and compassionate care for both of my cats, including some very sensitive and thoughtful end-of-life care for our older cat who passed away. We just recently boarded our baby girl Sandwiches for 14 days while we were in Kauai, and she came back to us happy, healthy, and quite spoiled from all of the attention she received. I cannot recommend both locations highly enough. Amazing staff, quality care, and reasonable prices. 10/10 on all fronts.

Showed up 8-12 minutes late to a mid day appt when the clinic was not very busy. The vet declined to see my dog, seemingly putting their ego over the health of the animal. Not the first unprofessional experience i've had with with Providence. Switching vets immediately. Chernov was the name of the vet.

The women at the front desk were very polite... However, the vet I saw was incredibly condescending and did not listen to any of my input about MY pet. I have never felt so disrespected by a "professional"
