I have been here a few times mostly for a coffee and pastry. I have had their babka pastry, chocolate croissant and the yummy bacon and cheese pastry.
What inspired me to write this review though is the service I received today. I called the store to ask if they had forbidden rice. The owner went and looked for me and they had it. But it gets better. As I was there I realized I needed some mirin for a dinner I was to prepare tonight. He said he didn’t have any in the shelves. Then he said he could help me anyway. He went to the back at the sandwich service counter and had a big bottle of it for the food he prepares. He asked me how much I needed and handed me a paper bowl of mirin!! He, the owner, went out of his way like that was awesome. I will continue to patronize this market. Yay for local neighborhood businesses! ??

We love the sandwiches and staff! We often order then look through the store. Today we found beautiful flowers and don't overlook the front with beautiful tea towels and gifts like oven safe pottery made locally. Some things have a slightly higher price than you might find elsewhere but you're supporting our island and local family. And then there are things that are sold very cheap here, like Mexican cokes. Everything is more than fair and super tasty. Oh and don't forget to grab a frozen Shannon's pie or quiche. They are outstanding and usually in stock. Thank you to the kind staff who makes our lunch and shows up pictures of their cats (we love seeing them) when you shop here you're shopping in a place that feels like they are your friends. If the show Cheers were a market if would be here. They might not actually know you, but you'll think they do.

This is a must stop in Alameda. Excellent coffee and a wide range of locally-sourced healthy food. Pro tip - the pastrami is out of this world. Stop in for lunch and grab an El Capitan.

I can't say enough good things about Alameda Island Savoy Market! The staff here is truly amazing – always welcoming and helpful. The deli offers a fantastic selection of frozen food, all organic and farm-to-table, which is a huge plus for me. Their coffee is exceptionally fresh, adding a perfect start to my morning. Thank you! I loved that their service is deeply rooted in the community, giving a warm, local feel to every visit. I'll definitely continue to visit and support this wonderful place. Highly recommended!

Visiting Alameda for a week and stumbled upon this charming market in the local neighborhood. Everything I needed was there....a combination of organic food store with a coffee cafe, a deli with plant based meats as well as regular, organic produce, local artesian food products, a curated selection of locally made gifts ( think pottery, dish towels, cards), local craft beers and wines. And the Thursday night dinner were complete and delicious (take out). Owned my a local couple and family owned....a real gem in the neighborhood.

I love the deli, but can't go back because it took 45 minutes for them to make two sandwiches -- wrong. They made the wrong sandwiches. They weren't custom sandwiches, just sandwiches off the menu! Today I went to buy some lunch meat from the deli. It took 2 people 15 minutes to slice and weigh 8 slices of turkey meat. I don't know what is going on.

The deli is well-stocked with vegan meats and cheeses, and they have coffee with non-dairy milk options. Plus, everyone that works there is super nice!

I just happened to stop by because I needed to snatch my son something quick for lunch. I was blown away by the customer service. And the food options are A+. Couldn't have asked for a better experience in a shop.

Lovely place with nice staff. That said they just don’t stock much grocery / convenience wise and are very-very expensive.
