Love the diversity in your speakers. One day we may be learning from a Rabi and one day a Buddhist. Also like the candle Christmas Eve service and try to make it every year.

This church is a great idea and the 2 times I went, people were warm and friendly. I do wish it attracted more diversity.

The Home of Truth was one of my favorite places when I lived in Alameda. I loved the meditation time before each service. The speakers were inspiring and devoted to raising up the community in Love and Light. The live music at every service is top notch! The pot luck meals after each Sunday service were delicious. They were happy times. Yes, I very much recommend the HOT spiritual center!Ashay!

The Home of Truth Spiritual Center is a lovely New Thought, Interfaith, Metaphysical Spiritual Center. It was the first place I visited when I moved to Alameda over 12 years ago. The people are warm and welcoming. There are wonderful speakers who share wisdom and insights...and we love to sing! The potluck fellowship after Service in the beautiful Garden Cottage is always a great time to connect with others and make new friends. If you like Religious Science or Unity, or are looking for a place that celebrates your unique spiritual path, and honors all world spiritual traditions, then you will love the Home of Truth!

I can't speak to the spiritual practices or services associated with this place, but I can say that it was a simply marvelous setting for a very wonderful, love-filled wedding & reception. The staff is SO sweet, and considerate (Sheralyn, you are awesome. A million thank you's for your patience with this DIY bride!) and the space is just oozing positive vibes. We held our reception in the backyard cottage and garden area and the space was perfect for a small (about 100 guests) wedding or similar event. The upstairs rooms (available for rental on their own for meetings, classes and similar events) are comfortable and nicely decorated. We had plenty of room for the wedding party and those who helped us out to get dressed and prettied up. The cost for the rental is totally reasonable and for what you get, a really great deal for the day. They are also dog friendly and were fine with the dog being part of our wedding ceremony. This is a very friendly and comfortable place for a non-denominational, yet spiritual, wedding or commitment ceremony.

Home of TRUTH 'SPIRITUAL CENTER,' eh? Hmmm. When I discovered HOTSC I was initially quite excited... (I'm not religious by any means but am quite spiritual). Being an astrologer / constant student of astrology for about 9 years now, you can imagine the relief I felt when I saw the words "Metaphysical" and "Spiritual Center" on the building's outer walls. But, I got my hopes up for nothing. I emailed the center to see if they ever have any astrology related speaker/teachers and if they didn't I was going to volunteer my time to teach for free there. How great, right?! A community center where all things occult/spiritual/metaphysical are shared freely with others.... (I know, you're thinking "Astrology at a church?", right? Well, the thing with this place is they're supposed to be all-welcoming. Basically any 'faith' or philosophical way of life can go here. They even teach "T'ai Chi Chih"... I mean c'mon...) Rather than receive welcoming arms, I was told that astrology is never talked about there and basically generally there wouldn't be any overall interest and that if I wanted to try I could start attending frequently in hopes of talking to people & getting them interested.... I also got the distinct impression that they were NOT open to an astrologer being active there. So you're starting to see why I rated them so low... But it gets better.* THEN, I guess this guy completely missed the point (or pretended to) and he started trying to sell me on RENTING space from them to teach astrology in.......... The email must have been forwarded to someone else important at HOTSC because a woman responded too, also cold in undertone and trying to get me to rent from them. :Sigh: Yeah, needless to say I was pretty disappointed. I was thinking I found Alameda's ONE community mecca of all-things-metaphysical. But no. My thoughts: They really should change their name, because being called the "home" of "TRUTH" is quite misleading (what truth?!?!) as is referring to yourself as a "spiritual center" when in fact you're just a church that also teaches "T'ai Chi Chih" on the side. (While rudely rejecting other fields of spirituality & trying to hustle out room rentals to people wanting to teach for free). So yeah. No bueno. * I gave the extra star (rather than just 1) because I do like the fact that they are open & welcoming to all religions and because the building/organization is quite old.
