This quaint little place is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. It’s a straight throwback to my childhood with dozens of retro games that I haven’t seen since the 80’s. If you are going to go make sure to bring a friend or parent who loves retro games because you will blow their minds and will absolutely make their day.

A fun trip back to the 80s - restored classic arcade games on free play and a jukebox playing period-correct tunes. Great atmosphere, all-ages. Good value for $6/hr admission.Edit: 11/2023 - price increased (but that's happening everywhere). They have changed up their lineup some, including a couple of custom built arcade games. Oregon trail & super smash bros! Still a great value and a ton of fun.

Stopped in here with my son and we both had a blast! It was awesome to get my son more exposure to old arcade games, including an old driving game I used to love playing when I was his age. The prices were also super reasonable, which was a hug plus. I just wish they were in an even bigger space with more games to try out, but happy they are a great place to have fun, nonetheless.

I've been coming here for years! I'm shocked I haven't written a review on this place yet.If you're into some OG videogames and love arcades, this place is the place! It's small but it is packed with some amazing games. It's super nostalgic. Its $10 to game there for an hour. There is an all day price but I'm not sure how much it is.I absolutely love playing the OG 1981 Donkey Kong. They have: PacMan, Mrs. PacMan, Guitar Hero, a set up where you can play super smash bros with 4 people with GameCube controllers, another set up where you can play Super Mario World 2 on super sized super nintendo controllers, tetris, street fighter and so much more. So much fun! I'll be going back sooner than later!

Fantastic place really took back to my youth when arcades where everywhere. The only thing I wish parking was a little easier and the place a little bigger. I hope we can visit again sometime.

Came in with my husband and sons. Be prepared that everyone that comes in has to pay. I was a little taken aback but it was ok I not a gamer but since I had to pay I tried a few games. It is a small arcade that has mostly old school games but my teen sons didn't mind and found many games to play. My husband had a great time playing his old school favorites. We would visit again.

If you're a child of the 80s and miss console gaming you'll love this place, and the pay by the hour setup makes for a fantastic experience as you jump from game to game never digging for quarters! Pew pew!

Very unique old school video arcade located in Alameda's busiest commercial district. Pay for unlimited plays for a certain amount of time.Decent selection of games range from the oldies like centipede and Pac-Man and Tron up to somewhere more modern racing and fighting games. Not enough space for the big crowd-pleasing games that you would find at Santa Cruz boardwalk, for example. They have a few cabinets with dozens of games you can select from on ROMs.It is small and has a couple of seats and a bathroom in the back. Parking is difficult on park street, but you can easily find parking for pay or free a few blocks down.

If you are a nerd (like me) and love the vintage 80-90s games and just games overall you will love this I have seen the staff help many people and just treat you well its great for everyone and at the front have great movie, trading cards, and pins! Its also has a great amount of space so I don't know why people are complaining

This place is such a gem. Older arcade games and affordable cost! They have a machine that has a variety of games including my favorite, Bubble Bobble! Took my teenager there and she was mesmerized. Pay in cash, and no outside food. The attendant was incredibly helpful.

I was with a friend playing Pokemon Go in downtown Alameda and we came across High Scores. The front sign paid homage of the 70s and 80s arcade times. We decided to go in to check it out. The lighting definitely reminded me of how it was playing in the arcades. They have a wide selection of the popular games people play. I can see myself spending 2 hours inside. They charge by the hour. You are welcomed by the front desk with a smile. I will consider playing when I'm in the area again. My sisters live in Alameda so I'll make some time for a trip :)

We found this place on Yelp, and booked it for a 10-year-old's bday party -sight unseen! And, it was... amazing! It was epic having the place all to ourselves (10am-noon, that is, before the day's official opening), and to have all games on "free play". The games, despite their vintage status, were in great shape - and Jonathan was super friendly and accommodating. It was easy to bring in bagels, donuts and coffee - and our guests left very pleased. Please support this place - it's a gem to have around. Thank you so much, High Scores!
