Basically if something is missing or damaged during the transport, you are difficult to get any compensation. Do not trust them at all.

Our experience with Chipman Relocations is 5 Star Positive! We hired Chipman Relocations via ************************************************* in early April 2023 for a move from ********** to ****************. We received excellent service in every step of our moving process. We had 3 bids performed and the virtual survey App operated by the estimator provided the accurate count and assessment of our belongings -- better than the in-person survey performed by another national company. The bid was reasonable for our content. We were provided with a wealth of information to help ** prepare for our move including frequent contacts from a moving coordinator. From pack-up day through the move and unloading day, we had the same mover assigned to our belongings. He and his team were super helpful, kind, efficient and thorough. Our belongings arrived on the day they were promised. Everything arrived intact and placed as requested. I have no improvements to suggest to Chipman Relocations or *************************************************. This is our first time with hiring a company for an out-of-state move so we were concerned about potential problems. However, the whole experience has been exceedingly positive and we recommend this company.

We used Chipman International for our move from California to Puerto Rico. We decided on Chipman based on the fact they are an agent of Mayflower and had great reviews. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.Every step of the move (coordination, scheduling, communication, etc) was great. Laura Saldal at Chipman International was definitely the reason why this whole process went smoothly. She coordinated everything and tried to make it less stressful for us. With such a huge move, we were sure there would be hiccups along the way. . . but everything went smoothly without any issues. Thank you again Laura!

We used Chipman to coordinate a complicated move from California to Spain. Everything was very professionally managed and schedules and requirements were well communicated. A particular thanks to Sharon Thakar for make sure our items were packed and moved out without delay, just as the pandemic lockdowns were going into place during March of 2020.

Everything was great at first; the people were friendly, professional, and cooperative. Because of Covid-19, we set up a virtual review of my belongings (all of which were in the garage - as we were renovating the house and putting in new flooring). The process went smoothly, and I was given a very competitive binding estimate, as well as a pickup date (in CA), and drop off window (in OK). We would wind up planning our move around this information (including an eventual close date on the sale of the house). Fast forward to the day of the pickup. My wife and I are in Oklahoma, living in an empty home we had just purchased (with nothing other than what we took in the car with us from California). I get a call from the original estimator who tells me that the weight of my items was far over what was estimated originally. He kept asking me what I might have added to the mix that would account for the weight. I reminded him that everything we owned was in the garage when the virtual estimate took place and the garage was packed to capacity... that it would be nearly impossible to have added anything. As we weren't moving bricks or gold bars, it was pretty clear to me that it was the estimate that was in error, and that the likely culprit was the newly enacted virtual review (as I'm sure the estimator typically does a fine job when they are on-site). I was taken aback when told that in order for Chipman to continue to move our belongings, we would have to pay the difference (which I believe would have been another eight thousand dollars or so. I naturally balked at this, and suggested that I would hop on a plane, rent a UHaul, and move everything myself before I would pay a ransom. He asked me for a day to see what could be done. The following day he called back, letting me know that i was not obligated to pay a dime more than the binding estimate, but told me that it would come out of his paycheck. I said that him getting stuck with the bill wouldn't sit right with me, but that between renovating the former house taking a loss selling it, making a cross country move, living on motels and fast food, and buying a new house, we didn't exactly have money to throw around - but that I would see what I could do. He thanked me, and wished me well with the new house. And then the games started. It would be nearly two weeks before our belongings even left the Sacramento warehouse. Our things arrived well after we occupied our new home (adding to the money we were bleeding on unnecessary meals out and disposable everything). When the truck did get here, the local movers assigned to unload were hours late; they did not appear to know a thing about handling furniture properly, cause accidental damage to our house, and were generally what I would expect to find if i was told they would be inexperienced day labor. Almost all of my boxes had been opened at the warehouse, repacked, and resealed - with all of my carefully placed identification labels gone; some things were missing (notably two fairly expensive new unopened power tools - which I am fairly certain managed to disappear at the warehouse as well); and quite a bit of things were broken (some inside crushed boxes, others because of their handling or repacking at Chipman's Sacramento location). When I brought these things to the attention of the driver, he too told me that it would come out of his paycheck. Given what an excellent job he did - despite a subpar crew, I tipped him and declined pursuing any action regarding the damage to the house, missing items, or broken goods. To his credit, he refused the tip, saying that none on his crew earned a penny, and that I should use whatever his tip would be to help offset my costs. [Note: he was an independent driver, not an employee of Chipman]. Meanwhile, there has been not a whisper from Chipman: no apologies for being late, no inquiries as to how the move went, none asking if we were happy with the service... nothing but crickets. This company has a stellar rating for some reason... I have no earthly idea why.

Thieves. Crooks. This conpany stole my wedding ring and a designer belt from me while packing up my home to move us from Colorado to California. They take no responsibility at all even though a report is filed with the police. They offered me a $200 check after "investigating" for over 6 weeks. Shady. Untrustworthy as they come.

I moved out of the country during the coronavirus pandemic, so my move was chaotic to say the least. My stuff wasn't able to be shipped for a couple months due to the restrictions, and I was in survival mode, so I wasn't keeping up with things the way I normally would. Sharon Takhar did a terrific job of keeping me track to make sure I completed the customs paperwork. She was also very responsive. I really appreciate the help!! Thank you!

I choose Chipman International on a recommendation that really paid off. Great service from the beginning to the delivery in Germany from California. The entire process and email communication was superb, a fair price and all the required paperwork including customs clearance in Germany made things much easier and worry free for me. The team that came to my house to pack everything were really nice and helpful in packing my crate. They took extra care packing fragile antique items from my family for which I am grateful for. I would use them again in the future and can recommend them to anyone looking to ship anything anywhere. Thank You Chipman International !!!!

My fiance and I recently used Chipman for moving services for our big move to the UK. Sharon did a fantastic job in listening to our needs and scheduling our move. The movers were also very friendly and took great care of our stuff. I will definitely be recommending Chipman to anyone who is in need of moving services!

I have moved house multiple times, and Chipman are the friendliest and most efficient moving firm I have ever dealt with. The team in the office are always on hand to answer the smallest points, and the guys doing the packing and loading were impeccable: friendly, polite, diligent. They made the whole experience a joy.

Chipman is AWESOME !!!! My move from Honolulu to Park City could not have gone smoother in regards to communication, packing and unpacking of items (oh and I didn't do either...their crews do all that) and the communication through the entire process is first rate customer service that every company should strive for. Laura Saldal is amazing. She took charge and left me without a card in the world regarding my household items coming across the pacific then in a truck without any damage or delay. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I would and will recommend to others Chipman for their relocation needs anytime. They all are amazing.

My move was bouched from the start Frank walked. From his discouraging comements to his horrible scheduling. They came and moved 1/2 of our belongs and said they would let us pack for another day and that they would come back the following day. I am sitting in my room right now with all my belongs in boxes but due to his miscommunication I will have to wait five days for them to come back. The mover / workers were great ! * Update Frank the estimator / talked to my apartment manager and stated that myself and my partner were lying about the scheduling errors. It's okay I hired another company to finish our move.
