“I had a great experience overall at Janene’s. The selection of dresses is absolutely fantastic and Sabrina was an excellent help, pulling the perfect dresses for me. I fell in love with more than one dress! That being said, when I did try on “the one” I knew it! Some tears were shed and I didn’t want to take it off. So fun! We loved the interior of the store and the dressing area, very pretty and glamorous. The only complaint I have is that there wasn’t an offer to put a veil on with the dress and no one offered for my group to take a photo with the “I said yes to the dress” sign or any photos of our group at all, which made me sad and didn’t feel very celebratory. I’d even shared that these were people visiting me from out of town to go dress shopping and the experience was very important to me. We just swiped the card to buy the dress and then were quickly shuffled out. Regardless, I found my wedding dress and I’m happy about that! Thank you, Janene’s!”

“Came for the antique lace, stayed for the best sewing store I have ever been in. They have notions for every niche textile art in existence and lots of books. The staff is very knowledgeable. Lots of hard to find items like coutil and corsetry hardware, millinery supplies and feathers, bobbins and lace making supplies, and specialty needles. I was able to get some hard to find curved needles. They also have many vintage laces and textiles for sale and a modest stock of modern textiles suitable for historical costumery. Large selection of lace of course! I was shocked and awed by this store and will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Berkeley. Gem!!”
