Don't bring your car here. Sergio will smile in your face and tell you lies. They said that they rebuilt my transmission and charged me $3K but when I got the back it still had problems shifting and was leaking transmission fluid. I took it to another shop and they took the transmission out and showed me how Alameda Transmission had not done the work and still had the old bands and seals. They said they had replaced the torque converter as well but it was clear that it was still the old one as well. I went back to them to show them photos of it and to get my money back and they flat out denied it and refused to refund me. These guys are thieves and I am writing this to warn others so you don't get ripped off like I did.

I had my car parts ready to be installed, I just needed someone to install the suspension strut kit and the right arm thrust. They installed the front ones and I got it back so I can drive to work. Then the following week they got the rear struts done within a few hours.The mechanic did an amazing job on replacing the new shock struts and the mount kit. They are very reliable and get the job done.

I have been going to Alameda Transmission's For at least the past six years. Sergio, Mac's Son/in- law Is the main guy there now who takes in the cars. I am so disappointed because I really trusted them! They would "Always" keep my vehicle-for WEEKS at a time. Good thing I had a spare vehicle to get around in. The last time I took my car into their shop, they kept it for 27 days. When Sergio finally called me to pick it up, the handbrake still wouldn't engage. After leaving the shop, I circled back around to let Sergio know. He says to me "as you use it, it'll adjust itself." I drove it for about a week, taking him at his word. Called him and he said to bring it back in so he could check it out, but I didn't because I didn't want them to have my car another 20 some days. I have a new mechanic now that repaired my hand brake for FREE !!! That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will never, EVER, go back to them again!

I took my transmission to Alameda Transmission so they could give me a quote to rebuilt it. Mac told me he needed to look inside it first and he would get back to me that afternoon with a price. Around noon the next day Mac called me and argued with about how many speeds my transmission had. After he looked up the correct transmission he quoted me $2500. I said that's too expensive and told him I would pick it up that afternoon. This is what I got back

Wow. I came in here with a vintage car and thought I'd have to get my transmission rebuilt. They changed the fluid and tested it and I was out of there in one day for less than $200!!

I took my BMW in for a gasket once I left it was still leaking oil I took it back come to find out they broke the gasket cover I had to pay an extra $500 for something that they messed up and they took more than three days when they were supposed to only take a day with my car place is a big Rip off I was supposed to only pay $471 end up having to pay $1000 for the work and they told me I could not take my car and less I paid threatening me

Not sure yet.l took my car in on Tuesday it is now Saturday nd dont know nothing about my car condition .they not communicating with me.l think l should just have it towed to a different shop.

As this place got good reviews and my regular mechanic does not do transmission work I brought my car here. Terrible experience. First I got no written estimate but that's not the problem. After bringing my car back 3 times , as it still had a leak I went to my mechanic to check it out. The bolts on the transmission were all loose. When I went back the 3rd time the owner said he would call me and bring my car in and leave it there. He never called . I also asked for a copy of my receipt as I couldn't find the original one. He didn't want to bother looking for it but said he would email it to me . He never did. I went back again 4th time . The owner wasn't there but the guys who were there were very nice and found it in a few minutes. Owner acts like he really cares but he doesn't. As I don't live in Alameda anymore but in Lafayette leaving my car there for 2 days and paying to rent a car was not an option .. Still leaking.

Great shop! I had a transmission code pop up and was able to take it in immediately to have a diagnostic done. Also thoroughly appreciated that the situation wasn't mansplained to me like a few other shops did over the phone.

What a nightmare, these people couldn't install an apple core into a paper bag. GO ELSEWHERE, you are better off at AAMCO. At least they are accountable for their mistakes.
