I love this place. The staff here are awesome and very caring, They take the time to listen and answer any concerns you might have.. And I love that they call to follow up on your pet making sure that they are ok. I definitely would recommend this place for your pets. It's clean and parking is not a problem. Thank you again to the awesome staff.

I've taken four different cats over the last 15 years and from kitten to geriatric matrikitty these folks know how to take care. The vets and the vet techs are really good, and don't make me feel like I am a worry wort or crazy.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Also very hard workers. There was so much activity and movement to make sure every pet was being cared for properly. I like my experience so far.

So caring and kind. They fixed up my little kitty with no judgement, just the basics. They broke down the bill and gave me payment options too. Much appreciated service.

They just want the money they can careless for the animal. I was just told after going there for 12 years that if I wanted a appointment before 6 weeks in advance I should change vets or had to pay the $130 for urgent care when that have one. What a BS. They are ready to take your money anytime but when you need them only in 6 weeks. Changing veterinary clinic right now.

this was years ago, when i lived in alameda, but my first two cats were patients there, and i always appreciated the staff, their compassion for the critters AND people, and i even liked the space itself! easy to get to, modern, clean, with fun stuff around to check out.then i adopted a kitten that ended up very sick, and had to get to the vet on the same day as i was to attend a funeral. the hospital did their best, but he didnt make it. they kindly took care of him safely until i was able to return, i think the next day. i dont know if its standard practice, but my previous and current vet would never have done that, and i will always be appreciative of their services.if i still lived there, they would certainly be my vet hospital of choice.[pics are of my girls, thisbe and cassie, theyve gone a long time, but i cant pass up an appropriate opportunity to show them off, still.]

Great staff if you can actually get an appointment when you need one. I love the people who work here but I’ve continually had issues getting semi-urgent appointments. My dog has an eye infection and they can’t see us until next week! He’s had the same thing in the past and the vet will not approve the medication until she sees him which makes sense…however, what do I do in the meantime. Spending $1000 at an emergency vet for an eye infection is not what I want to do but that is Alameda Pet Hospital is recommending. Craziness!!

First impressions are lasting and I got a horrible impression of this place. I called about a cat dental issue and clearly described symptoms, e.g., mouth hanging open, drooling, irritation from tooth decay, but behavior normal. You would think a vet that promotes dental services would respond with a voice of expertise. Instead, whoever was the authority helping the receptionist respond to my appt request resorted to the "get rid of her" tactic and suggested we take our cat to the emergency room for a possible heart attack. Having to repeat myself and add that we are quite certain there is no impending heart attack, they offered a "new patient" appt in May. So, it went from an emergency to suggesting we wait three weeks, even though our cat was experiencing a major dental issue. The worst kind of vet would do this, completely ignore the symptoms one describes and then give the patient a "this is what's convenient for us" option. Their VM introduction goes on and on about staff shortages due to illness and "to be patient". Any vet who doesn't get the inappropriate subtext in that VM is either incompetent or psychotic. I called another Vet who was obviously busy, but had a much better approach to customer/patient service. They listened to the symptoms, found a cancellation a few days out and then suggested we immediately take our cat to an emergency clinic for possible pain and/or infection meds. Advice: Sort the reviews by "lowest" before being fooled by the 4.6 rating.

We couldn't have been more pleased with Alameda Pet Hospital who took great care of our beloved Cuda from puppy in 2010 till the end last year, and that's a long life for a boxer! He also boarded with them during all our vacations and was always happy to go. And everybody there genuinely seemed happy to see him. Such a nice group of loving people till the very end, and even after. Thank you Alameda Pet Hospital doctors and staff, it was a pleasure.

Highly recommend. My vet retired, and I needed to find a new one fast since my cat needs an approved prescription. My first visit was friendly and welcoming. Everyone was kind, and the vet was informative without pressuring me into unnecessary expenses. My cat becomes really upset when he goes to the vet, and they worked with me to give him liquid medication to help him relax, which was way easier and cheaper than previous vets that required putting him totally under. They also sent me an estimate for some dental work for my cat. Refilling my cat's prescription is very simple and can be done through text. The vet and staff are all knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming. If you need a vet, this is the best place in the Bay.
