There were three of us staying in the room; Two adults and a ten-year old child.
When we checked in the woman at the office was quick to tell us she had to put towels in the room. We waited then it took 2 or 3 trips back to the office to finally get 3 towels.
Our room had only half a roll of toilet paper. I went to the office and asked for more and she gave more when she gave me the towels.
There is no cell phone service and no phones in the room. To talk to the front desk requires walking or driving to the office.
The TV didn’t work. We went to get her and she said she’d fix it while we were out to dinner. That never happened. “No signal” was all that shown on the screen. Pushing on all the buttons on the remote control didn’t help.
When it came time for showers, we discovered we had no wash cloths. Because the office was closed and we couldn’t find the woman we used the kitchen towel for a wash cloth.
The office driveway was gated and a car had parked blocking entrance the rest of the day.
At check-in the woman was quick to tell us she was proud she had put clean sheets on the fold-out sofa bed. When the time came for bed, we found one pillow in the closet but no pillow case. Oh well. We had to use one of our t-shirts as a pillow case.
On a shelf in the bedroom nightstand was a large ring of master keys for all buildings (?).
The A/C doesn’t cool the cottage. It ran all afternoon and the temperature got down to 85 degrees which is better than 95 degrees outdoors in mid-June. We carry our own thermometer. When the sun went down the room lowered to 83 degrees. We opened all the windows and the refrigerator and freezer doors to cool it down to 81 degrees where it stayed all night.
The cabin had a coffee pot and coffee but no cream, and no one in the office to ask. To get cream for the coffee in the morning was a 30 minute round-trip drive to the nearest Valero gas station and market. No decaf coffee either, so another drive to Oakhurst.
Their Facebook and Yelp pages advertise as “Bed and Breakfast”. That’s not true. Bring your own breakfast or go to a restaurant.
We have stayed here in years past several times and enjoyed it, but these incompetencies are probably the result of new ownership and new management.
For $ 280 a night you’d expect more.

Really enjoyed my stay here! It was good to just unwind for a weekend. We stayed in the Ranch House. Cabin was clean on arrival, and very cozy. Kitchen was surprisingly well stocked- we were able to cook all our meals here and didn't need to eat out.

Worst service I ever had they kept my money for a reservation that was more then two weeks away. Stick to hotels ppl no secret cleaning fees and cancellation penalty’s.

We had a great stay. The staff was very kind. I was worried that it would be cold, but the room was very warm, the bathroom was clean, and the warm water shower was great. It's a little far from Yosemite, but it's not a problem. The owner made it possible to charge the electric car for free. Thank you for that we were able to travel comfortably. We will be back.

Kindest hosts, very quiet and enjoyable cottage. Hospitality is not lost at Homestead, we had an issue at our Airbnb and had to make emergency arrangements and they were so kind and accommodating.Rooms (including kitten) are clean, accommodations scenic and our stay was more than worth the price. The Inn Keepers went above and beyond and the drive in to Yosemite was gorgeous. Truly a gem of a place.

We always stay here when we go to Bass Lake. Facilities were spic and span. Cottages have a kitchen, dining, living room with a sleeper sofa, we stayed at the Ranch House which had 2 bedrooms. Parking was ample enough and they had a charger for an EV car.Rooms: Rooms were clean and hotel-likeSafety: It's nestled a couple miles off the main highway and so safe. There are bear warnings but I've never seen one everytime I'm there.Noteworthy details: You can cook here so bring oil and condiments.

Splendid location surrounded by nature. The cottages are really pretty, furnished with solid wood furniture and terracotta floors. Small kitchen available where perhaps a few more utensils could be added, the fridge was actually a mini bar and doesn't allow you to keep many things cool. Apart from these small flaws, it is a splendid place to spend a few days in total relaxation. Various services are available a few minutes' drive away (laundries, fast food, supermarkets, etc.) while Yosemite National Park is about an hour's drive away

The hosts were very kind. The kitchen is cool and convenient.Yet it is very expensive for what it is. Our cottage smelled really bad at first. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and creaked. The A/C creaked as well (in the living room). When we arrived, the sheets of the sofa bed were dirty and had not been removed from the people before. However, the host directly brought us clean ones. Dirty towels were also still hanging on the hooks in the bathroom. Even the clean ones were stained. The shower did not work really well.
