Please, stay away. Scam Alert! Listen to past customers. They threatened to throw our stuff if we didn't give them more money. Save yourself a headache and never book through a broker. Use actual movers who own their own trucks.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They tried scamming me out of another $3800 at the time of pick up. i threatened to use a different company and they did it for the agreed amount. They scammed me out of another $800 before delivery saying they needed to rent a smaller truck to deliver my stuff. when they delivered they were missing parts of my bed and couch. Both unusable now and won't reimburse me for those items. Stay clear of this company at all costs!!!!! Read the reviews! They need to be stopped!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

If you don't read anything else, READ THIS: FIND ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY. I promise you will be better off walking your stuff across the country. Was booked through budget van lines for 3k to move from Cali to South Carolina. Then some random men showed up and need an extra 1k because I supposedly had more stuff than was quoted by Budget Van lines. I thought Budget Van Lines was a moving company but they are just a broker (they didn't disclose that on booking, silly me but I was desperate in a time sensitive situation) and they couldn't do anything because that wasn't their company. It was then I knew something was off. I had a timeline to meet and couldn't change anything so while they were packing up I started digging. They don't have website. I wish I looked at reviews here first because they are not exaggerating all. If you look at the office address on Google maps it's to a PSYCHIATRIC CLINIC, which is where David, the scammer himself, belongs. No logo on official paperwork and what does come up is a poorly photoshopped blue Virgin mobile knockoff. I was honestly surprised my stuff even showed up. I had to change my address a week before it arrived because my plans changed and David Konahim purposefully ignored my texts and calls until it arrived, then charged an extra 3k to move out halfway across the country to Texas, and wanted to charge even more on arrival for being on a second floor even WITH elevator access. On arrival, he threatened to keep everything and wait for a civil lawsuit because I refused to pay extra from what I signed for. I asked him why half the distance wasn't half the price and all these surcharges and fees were purposefully made higher and it's "because he can". I wasn't there I had a friend picking it up and he called the driver to speak to her to exchange some profanities because I was still driving (I wasn't in the mood to argue on the highway) and he thought it was me at first. Disgusting to say what he said to her I wouldn't have shown any restraint as professionalism had long left the chat. It was then I realized his phone worked bc he called me profusely back to back (remember he ignored me until he could charge me more money). They aren't registered with the BBB (better business bureau) so they aren't legitimate and there's no one to complain to. My boxes arrived smashed and even had stuff from someone else's home. We had to unload ourselves even though on booking it was supposed to be a driver and two men moving, it was just a driver who also "stopped for gas" on the way and asked for the final payment in cash, then had the nerve to act confused when I already Zelle'd it and sent the proof. Since reading the reviews, this must be a tactic they use to con more money out of people. The men were dirty and not in any uniform, using unmarked trucks and then an oversized Penske truck (I know my stuff was in there flying around), saying the man was awful and they wanted to quit. I don't believe it, based on these reviews they all in cahoots together asking for more money. David's method of payment is cash(????) and Zelle, Venmo, cash app - ALL under different names, his email is even different! Big red flags. He was very rude demanding everything ASAP but ignored my messages. Then asked for my name right before sending me an OBVIOUSLY photoshopped bank acceptance transaction. My furniture was damaged with holes in the backboards of my bookshelves. I lost $8,000 to moving alone and it's safe to say I would've made trips my damn self back and forth or sold all my stuff and fit what I could into my car if I had known. I hope this guy loses everything and ends up in jail for his slimy business practices and overall disgusting demeanor. If the feds watching, how is his operation even legal? As everyone else is saying, only one star because I can't give any lower. Scam Artists!!! My elderly father was stressed and in a bind to find a moving company. He went through a place called "Reciprocal Motion" who apparently were just brokers. Virgin Moving and Storage show up. They wanted payment in cash or money orders ONLY! First red flag. Who has their movers collect cash payments? They quoted double the amount my dad was quoted over the phone. On the phone quote $3,000-$3,500, in person $6,800+! He wasn't even taking much stuff as he is moving into a fully furnished home. I called the number on their paperwork because I had a very bad feeling. A rude man answered, "Mr. David" wouldn't tell me the name of the moving company just yelled 3 times at me "I'M THE MOVING COMPANY" and hung up after he asked what moving company name I thought it was. We had no idea these guys would show up, so beware and hire local!!

Only choosing 1 star because it's the minimum. We booked with Perennial van lines and ended up with this company. No idea of the disaster we were getting into. We thought getting the pickup earlier than the date perennial gave us was a good thing. The actual mover said the price would be a bit different because the box was quoted as medium and we had a few large boxes....ok. we paid the percentage and figured out items will be delivered and stored as agreed with Perennial. Well we got a call on a Sunday afternoon that they need the delivery address for the following day else the items will be taken to California for us to pick up. Why would we use movers from California to pick up in NY to deliver to Texas. After a whole disrespectful exchange with David hanging up on us and more threatening a storage unit was secured only now to see an even further adjustment to the cost. Calls to Perennial got us no where because 'its the binding fee' I swear these 2 companies must be working together to strong arm ppl into these costs. We had no choice but to pay it or pay for replacement of our things. Terrible experience with both companies!

The owner is a scammer. He accepts jobs from moving brokers and then ups the price (weight, size) when they get to your home. This is when you really have no choice because you need your stuff moved. He then pays day workers who have no clue how to pack. He then delivers when he wants to. He only takes venmo or Zell. This is to avoid any recourse on payment. He holds you over a barrel because he has your stuff. On day of delivery, per the contract, final payment should be postal money order. He stopped the truck because he wanted cash so the driver could buy gas. I told him no and he threatened again to not deliver. Then he did not hire anyone but the driver to unpack the truck. We ended up doing it ourselves. Many of the items were broken, scratched and dirty. He will not allow a claim because we didn't buy insurance. When the goods were loaded that Option was not allowed on his paperwork. Oh, and did I mention when the delivery driver called to ask where his help was he was told to lock the truck and walk away?!?! He then texted me and told me to use my car to block the truck so the driver couldn't take it! Seriously, avoid this company at all costs!!!

Virgin Moving and Storage doesn't deserve even a 1-star rating. They are professional thieves of your money and furnishings, and huge liars and experts in deception. At the last moment charged me a bogus additional 400 cu.ft in charges plus the $2K they demanded up front, and $4600 more upon delivery...... what do you do.....they hold all your belongings hostage or else lose them? We should all get together for a Class Action suit against Virgin Moving and storage. The owner, "David Kohman", is a BIG SMARTASS when confronting him with his extortion tactics and laughs about any kind of lawsuit!!! He and his crew should be in jail now for a long time and all overcharges be paid back to all his victims of prey. BEWARE, NO ONE SHOULD EVER USE THIS HORRIBLE MOVER, if you do...just remember I fore-warned you all, do not call 818-402-3139 (or any other alternate phone hideouts) for moving services or anything else!!!!!

Don't book with them. I'd rather carry my own things on my back across country without shoes on then deal with these people again. Or just set fire to everything I own- it would have been less stressful.

We moved my 85 year old mother who was struggling with the beginnings of dementia from California to our home in Texas. When the movers arrived and packed everything up they threatened to unload everything back off if they were not given an extra $1,000. dollars. Just the day prior I paid an additional $1,000. with my credit card. David was telling his movers " just put the s*** back". Knowing how confusing and upsetting this would have been for my mother I paid the "ransom". On the 21st of August my Mother's lifetime belongings drove off. Weeks past as my Mother became more disoriented in her new surroundings. I begged and pleaded with David that having somethings familiar around her was so important. Most times I was pleading to his voicemail. Finally her things arrived on October 3rd. with just the driver. My Husband had to do 50% of the off loading and moving of the boxes and furniture. David was supposed to give us a partial refund of $500.00 but the driver would not except the cashiers check for the lesser amount. Once again paying an additional $800.00. Origin : Santa Monica, CA

Disgusting scam of a company that will hold your stuff for as long as they can and when they deliver your stuff, half your stuff will be missing. Do not trust this company, and the owner David has switched the company's name several times. Do your homework and spread the word to never hire this company. I've called the number that I was given by that joke of a moving company to get my missing stuff back and never heard back. They will scam you out of an insane amount of money and hold your stuff hostage till the last possible minute.

Zero stars. Total scam! DO NOT USE THEM! Changed the price after they had my stuff. Took them 4 weeks to deliver, gave me 8 hours notice when they finally did deliver. Driver didn't reassemble anything, as promised. Disgusting operation!

do not use Virgin Moving or any company associated with David Kohman. I was shipping furniture from Bozeman Montana to New York. My original mover, Trinity Moving, called and said their driver was ill with Covid so they subcontracted with Virgin Moving. When Virgin picked up my furniture it appeared they had wrapped it in quilts, which is what had been promised. I paid $1074.50 in money orders at that time as was agreed and the balance was to be paid upon delivery in NY,Weeks later l received a phone call from David Kohman who apparently has my furniture in Sherman Oaks, California! At first he said he needed more money because the furniture weight had increased since it left Bozeman. Failing to get me to agree to that he claimed he had not been paid and wanted $1074.50. When I sent him copies of the money orders he relented and said he would ship the furniture to NY. Several weeks later we are contacted by Trinity Moving telling up the driver is sick with Covid and is in quarantine for 10 days. After that I contacted Trinity and asked exactly where the furniture was located because I wanted someone reputable to pick it up and deliver it. They convinced me it would soon be delivered. My sister was receiving the furniture in NY and David called her and said he had never been paid and wanted $1074.50 plus the remaining half of the contract, $1074.50. He told her he would keep the furniture until she paid. I again sent him copies of the money orders and he agreed to deliver the furniture. The next day when the driver arrived he said he needed an additional $2000.00. My sister is a tiny woman, not even 5' tall but she stood up to him and said he would get exactly $1074.50, the other half of the contract amount. Then the worst news.....the driver said something had happened to the solid walnut, hand carved heritage dining table and somehow it had been broken. Instead of one piece he gave her the dining table in seven or eight pieces! It had no marks like it had fallen off a tailgate or forklift. It had been purposely destroyed by hand. The glued wooden dowels were pulled apart, the legs separated from the top,on and on. Because we would not agree to pay ransom for our furniture it was intentional destroyed by David and his gang of thieves. Insurance will not cover intentional damage, only accidental damage. I can only imagine what it will cost up to have a skilled craftsman repair the furniture. And its historical value has been destroyed. Do not use them, do not trust them. Don't even call them for a quote becuse you will either lose your furniture or end up paying far in excess of the quote. These are really evil people.

I wish I would have read these reviews before my move, although I did not hire Virgin Movers directly. I called US Pro Moving who sourced out my move to this company. First of all, they showed up a day late, even after confirming pickup 3 times. Then I was told my move would be $1500 more than I was originally quoted AFTER they had already loaded my things on the truck! I am a single mom and was flying out that evening with my three year old daughter so there wasn't much I could do about it at that point. I was told that my stuff would arrive in 7-10 business days. When 14 business days had passed, I called US Pro Moving and they gave me David's number (the owner of Virgin Moving & Storage). Talking to him was a joke. He told me he had 21 business days to get me my stuff and that he didn't know where my stuff was. He called me later to say that he didn't have any drivers and that he didn't know when my stuff would be coming this way. I had all of my work things in the move so I was unable to work this entire time, losing thousands of dollars. He told me I should start my own moving company since I was so upset and wanted my stuff quicker. Then I had one of his drivers calling me and telling me that David does this to everyone and asks for more money once he gets your stuff. That same driver called me another time asking for inappropriate photos just so he would bring me my stuff. Like what planet are we on that this is ok?!! Finally David called me a month later saying they loaded the truck up with my stuff and it would be here in a few days. After not hearing from him for almost a week, he calls to say the driver got COVID and my stuff was parked in a Hotel parking lot in LA, WHICH IS FURTHER AWAY FROM MY DESTINATION! I gave up at that point and just figured I would never see my stuff again. I ordered all new work stuff and was waiting for that to be delivered when David finally called to tell me he found a new driver and they would be leaving the next morning. I finally go my things on Saturday, almost two months after they picked it up. I honestly don't know how this FRAUD of a company is still in business. DO NOT USE THEM! They will take your stuff, extort you for more money, and you won't see your things for months. And US Pro Moving did absolutely nothing the entire time and they are the ones that contracted David for the move.
