Rooms: The room is nice, clean and comfortable. The reason for us to come back again .Nearby activities: The area has a lot of nice places to visit.Food & drinks: Breakfast is disappointing, can be improved. Only packed hot items.Noteworthy details: The pool is also nice, so is the sitting area with fireplaces.

Beautiful, slightly secluded hotel just off of the main thoroughfare nestled into the desert hills. Massive lobby with intimate seating for couples or small groups, but also capable of hosting large gatherings.Hangry? There is a convenient bar and grill off of the lobby with delicious food at California prices. Other dining options within a 5-10 min drive. The courtyard is gorgeous—enjoy a fire pit and beverage or take a dip in the lighted pool. The rooms are spacious and modern.Safety: Hotel is located in a safe, low crime area with a rural feel away from dense population centers.

We stayed for 4 nights and we enjoyed each one of them. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, always willing to help. The bed is comfy and the 24 hours open gym a plus. The only thing missing was some kitchen utensils (we only had one spoon). Fully recommend!

Arrived cheerful with a smile and it took 30 seconds for that to change. No hello, no welcome, no thank you for being a loyal Platinum Elite member of Bonvoy Marriott. Just "You're here on points" as though I were using food stamps. I wish I hadn't told her about the dogs because a $170 dog fee later I was given a dog room with disgusting couch, filthy carpet and shredded ottoman. The bathroom had been remodeled, so it made the room look even worse. The reservationist with whom I booked this hotel had told me the pet fee was $100 but apparently they weren't aware that this property charges $50 for the second dog plus $20 for which they could not explain. I redeemed a free stay plus 12,000 points and $170 for a small dank room. Last night I enjoyed an awesome Bonvoy property, Elements, in Irvine. Sparkling clean room, great location gracious greeting, and a $50 pet fee total for both dogs. They even gave each dog a treat bag!

First things first, this is a gorgeous hotel, inside and out. The price felt high, but that's the LA area for you. It was definitely competitive (i.e. better) than anything else we could find to accommodate 5 people. Breakfast was really good and had a fair amount of variety. But that's where it starts to fall apart just a little bit. Based on the map on the back of our door, this hotel has 4 larger suites per floor (3 floors), and we got the 2-bedroom suite with sofa bed, since we were traveling with our 3 children. Our reservation was clearly made for 5 people, and the room clearly states that it sleeps up to 5. However, the room isn't really MADE for 5. There is a small table with 4 chairs around it for eating. There is only a small couch in the main room that seats 2, maybe 3. Other than the 2 beds in the bedrooms, there was nowhere else to sit down in the suite. It wasn't exactly conducive to a family of 5 hanging out together. Furthermore, the room has a pretty nice kitchenette, but had 3 of each type of silverware and 4 mugs. If a room is for 5 people, you'd expect at least 5 seats, 5 mugs/glasses, 5 forks, etc. I will say that this seems to be a general Marriott problem that I've seen for years, but little in this world is made for a family of 5, and Marriott seems ok with that. On top of that, we had no bedding in the room for the sofa bed, and had to ask twice before we got some.I'm sure this is probably at least somewhat a California thing, but when we would leave the room, the air would eventually shut off. It was in the 90s the week we stayed, so when we'd get back to the room, it'd be pretty warm. We'd have to wait a while for it to cool down.Due to one of my children having an allergy, I'd read online about how a lot of Marriott properties were offering gluten-free breakfast options this morning. I had a perhaps misguided belief that in California, that would be even more prevalent. I asked at the front desk when we checked in, and got a "not sure" kind of answer. We asked the next morning at breakfast, and the guy working in the breakfast room said he would check, but that he was sure that the prepackaged blueberry muffins were gluten free. We picked one up and read the ingredients and it was most definitely NOT gluten free. When he came back, he told us that the plain bagels were gluten free, which we were HIGHLY skeptical of. You can usually tell gluten-free items by the way they look, and these didn't look gluten-free. I also doubt that they'd make one of the mainstays of their breakfast gluten free. Anyway, we stuck with things that we knew would be safe, such as fruit and certain cereals.Another bummer was that the first night, when we went out to the pool, some guys came out and started smoking cigars in the pool area. I have no idea if smoking was permitted or not and could find nothing online, but it was a bummer. Finally, I have to talk about the pillows in this room. They were so papery thin that I thought they were cheapo feather pillows. I asked the front desk to send me some foam pillows. My Marriott account has a standing request for extra foam pillows, but most places seem to completely ignore that. I asked for at least 5 foam pillows. I got 3. That was when we found out that the papery-thin pillows WERE foam. We had enough for 4 of us to double them up, and even then they were still thinner than what I'd call a "normal" pillow. So, some issues, but I'd say that overall, this was a good hotel. The location - just off the 101, but far enough as to not have a lot of road noise - was really convenient, and there were some really good places to eat nearby (we tried Tifa, Wood Ranch and Plata).

We were going to a funeral in Malibu and on Google. It said this hotel was 20 minutes away but in reality it took us a little longer because getting up here from Malibu was a very long twisty Road.. it’s a bit deceiving on Google maps. But once we were here, everything was beautiful.!

Front desk was helpful and kind, rooms were fine. Major issue with communication and Wendy Beemer in sales was truly terrible. I was there for two weeks on business and I was, and still am, appalled at how she speaks to customers. Having come from a service industry background I would question if she was a good member to have on staff. This review is specific to my situation so make your own judgements on the hotel.Reply to owner - I understand and accept that you were not able to revise the reservation to include the corporate code and was clear that that was fine and I understood (please see the emails). The issue arose while I was asking for information on what my rate would have been if the rate was applied so I could see the difference. Regardless, the attitude of your response aligns with what I have experienced as well and it is very rude.Additionally, I had to keep calling the front desk because I received no follow up from them on my room charge receipt for several days.Thank you for your response and I can almost appreciate the lack of customer service at this point!

This is an excellent property. First photo showing the outside of the hotel isn’t accurate though. Much more modern building. Only issue was undesirable water pressure in the shower. Everything else was perfect!

We have stayed in this hotel 12 nights in the last 5 months and around 20 times in the last year. Not by choice, but by lack of other options in the area, as we like and need hotels with kitchen. The Residence Inn, a sister property, like 3 miles away, offers a much better customer service!! but sadly, the facility is somewhat old and the entire building needs an upgrade. We are yet to try the Homewood Suites by Hilton located 1 mile away. PROS: The hotel is modern, located in a quiet area and close enough to town. It also offers free parking and a nice gym. The amenities in general are pretty good. CONS: The service. Who ever is in charge of training the employees is not doing a good job at all. We have encountered employees that do not seem to care about providing a good service. Front desk, most of the time showing non interest to interact nor to respond to clients needs, with the exception of 1 or 2 shift managers. Pans that are not in serviceable condition (pictures) with little interest from the employees to switch them for good ones. Even though they state on their own fridges, that they offer blenders and a variety of cookware items, they do not. (Then, why to even offer?) A bad service experience has been the norm in all of our stays. Somehow they have managed to disappoint us over and over with their lack of care and lack of interest in customer service.

I’ve been impressed recently with my Marriott partner stays and this is another example. Great service, amenities (go to the Trader Joe’s up the street and get some steaks to grill) and we loved our room. Thanks to everyone involved in making this a grand stay!

I come into town to stay a few days on a regular basis. I've tried many hotels and sadly, I always leave feeling somewhat dissatisfied. At the suggestion of a good friend who has stayed at this hotel, I booked two nights. My first night my dog and I were put into a lower level room near the breakfast hall. I found it very hard to get a good night sleep. The footsteps over my head were relentless, then at the crack of dawn all of the business travelers were up and at 'em, yucking it up all the way down the hall to breakfast having loud conversations about their day, and their breakfast. I tried to sleep and couldn't. I was quite tired all day. After my very busy day I returned to my room and went to the desk to try to buy earplugs. They were cleaned out of earplugs, (I know why). I approached the front desk and asked if there were more earplugs, but nope, all out. The front desk clerk was nice though. I was headed back to my room and for some reason I turned around and headed back to roll the dice. As I approached, a manager looking person appeared at the front desk (a stroke of good luck). I politely explained my situation and lack of sleep. I said "Look, I know this is a long shot, but is there a quieter room I might be able to switch to? I'm exhausted and I really need some sleep in a less traveled hallway, perhaps away from the breakfast hall?" Well, at that the manager Jeffrey Page, looked into his computer and the friendly clerk Francisco collaborated to decide where I could move. After a moment or two these gentlemen kindly offered me an upper level room away from heavy foot traffic. I quickly moved in upstairs and almost immediately had a lovely nap to catch up. My room had a view of the mountains and overlooked the gym parking lot. I thanked the front staff wholeheartedly. I slept perfectly well that night in my new room and left well rested the next day. It would have been easy to simply turn me away, but the kindness and generosity of Jeffrey and Francisco changed everything. I will return to this place on my next visit which will be soon. Thank you TownePlace Suites. Great stay overall.

I like, but not love. About a 2 year old hotel, located off of 101/Kanan on Agoura Road. Next to LA Fitness, and about 2 blocks away is Islands, Tavern Tomoko/Ladyface Brewery, El Pollo Loco, IHOP...and an Animal Shelter. It's a funny location. It's one building, but Courtyard on the left, TownePlace Suites on the right. Same lobby. Same pool. Same bar. Same breakfast buffet. The room:=========The Towneplace Suites have larger rooms compared to the Courtyard side. The bonus is that it has a small kitchen: sink, microwave, 2 burner stove, medium-size refrigerator, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils. Very comfortable.Facilities / Service:===============They have a gym (didn't step foot in it), a nice pool (also, didn't use), a huge lobby with beautiful chairs and lots of seating, a decent size bar that serves Starbucks drinks and some grub in the morning, and drinks/apps in the evening. The staff should be mentioned, very very nice and helpful.Value:=========We stayed 4 nights, and it's about $200 a night. Good value.Breakfast Buffet:===============The morning buffet is okay, but very much could be improved. For a HUGE hotel, why is the serving area so small? They only have juice, milk, yogurts, english muffins AND bagels (they recently added!, eggs (changes), PORK sausage (yes, everyday!), cereal. On weekends, they add packaged/heated waffles. Repetitive = boring...but FREE.The Bad (from the Courtyard side):============================Barking, barking, barking, and barking -- non-stop from 7am-6pm. You might be happy that you don't have a room facing the freeway (I was), but facing the shelter is not good, either.

My husband and I went to this hotel for our 28th Wedding Anniversary and it was awesome!!! Jonathan greeted us when we came in the door and walked up to the counter, even though he didn't work at the reservation counter. He actually works at the restaurant and bar in the hotel. We got the best service we've gotten yet since moving to California a year and a half ago. We will be going back in the near future. Jeffrey the manager was awesome also..he made us feel right at home. He even gave us a gift bag for our anniversary with goodies in it. The only thing we mentioned when checking out is, that they think about extending the shower glass a little bit more, because a lot of water was getting on those beautiful floors. Oh and in the future g3et sound proof windows, since the hotel is by the highway. Don't know if that will be good enough, since there are walls too.
