Had a Tech/Cybersecurity conference for which everyone was blown away with both the location, staff and food.
The experience was phenomenal, and the gift shop was rich with cool gifts that have meaning.

Small museum but friendly guided tour with memorable anecdotes (English only). You can also taste specialties there.

We went for a day trip to Whistler and were able to go to the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Líl̓wat7úl peoples museum. It was incredibly informative and humbling to share the space with the First Nations people who work there.
Finding our way from the village to the museum took a while and unfortunately reduced the time we could spend there as we were booked on the shuttle from Vancouver.
? worth a visit and the guided tour was very informative.
Thank you

We were so looking forward to this museum, unfortunately it was very disappointing. We said at reception that we would like a tour and paid for it. It started with a musical performance and a 15 minute film. That was it. We stood outside the hall after the film, 3 staff members stood there but no one said anything or approached us. So after about 5 minutes we went a bit further, looked at the canoes etc.. Even then nobody came back, so we thought that was it. We were still on the upper floor and by chance we saw that there was an outside area. We were outside and wanted to go back in to have a look at the shop. The door was closed, it was half past four, so we left the museum disappointed. We are very interested in the culture and history and would have loved to find out more. Unfortunately, it didn't come across to us as if the staff were particularly motivated. I later read what else the tour would have included, which was a shame. To deepen our knowledge, it would be better to read Wikipedia than to visit this museum. The musical performance, the film, the totem poles and the few exhibits were nice.
I would like to add that there wasn't much going on, not even 10 guests. They would have had plenty of time. If we had been late, we could have been told.

A cultural experience that was informative & tribal artefacts adorned the surroundings. From totem poles to canoes all manufactured from cedar trees in a traditional way. We did the guided tour but this isn’t a necessity as it is an immersive experience in its own right.

Absolutely lovely cultural center - I definitely recommend visitors in the area to stop by to learn about the Squamish and Lil'wat peoples. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there are free guided tours on the hour.
The cafe is also a must-visit. The salmon chowder and bannock taco were both delicious. (Their fried bannock is very light and fluffy!)

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is a First Nations’ gallery and museum showcasing West Coast Indigenous art, traditions, culture and historical artifacts in Whistler. Their more than interesting traditions are an eye opener and inspiring on how, even today, we should respect our nature and resources. Definitely a must see for anyone passing by Whistler!

You can learn so much by spending just an hour here. Informative tour, welcoming staff, and fascinating living history and culture, regalia, ways of life and deep respect for the land that sustains the people, and which they care for and belong to. Whistler as a resort is nice, but can be artificial and superficial at times. Visiting the SLCC was the most meaningful highlight of our visit to Whistler and gave it a whole new meaning. I am listening and learning, and may that continue on.

Amazing place. I should have started my trip visiting this centre. It than makes you look at the mountains and lakes and land in a different way. It really made an impression on me.

Very interesting piece of history, kind of duplicating the stories from Vancouver museums, but apart from being focused more on local tribes, I'vefound it actually more knowledgeable.

An amazing experience to do the forest walk and learn about the Indigenous plants and the ways the communities used to live. At this time the forest walk is at 2 pm each day. The ambassadors are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, and explain everything really well. I really recommend coming here. Also I would plan to visit the gift shop, they have lovely children’s books with powerful messages, and beautiful jewelry you can purchase as well. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon.

Wonderful venue and amazing staff at the large event I attended. The First Nations cultural items and artifacts are very interesting, and proudly displayed represent the local First Nations groups in the area.
