New ToysRUs opening at Uptown mall in Victoria, BC in Oct. So called the number & answering machine does NOT say it is closed & not open yet. Also google says it’s open. So mad that we drove all that way on friday Oct 20, 2023 to find out the store hasn’t opened it’s new doors yet. Total fail on whoever set up too early the phones & websites. I wonder how many other people wasted gas going there like we did.

October 28: still not open! Their automated voicemail says they are open then hangs up on you. Doors are locked but lights are on with shelves stocked.

On July 13th 2022. I took my granddaughter to ToysRUs in the Mayfair Mall, Victoria. She bought a Koala Bigiggles and paid with coins from her piggy bank. The cashier helped her count the coins totalling about $12.00. I can't recall receiving a receipt, not sure if there was distraction due to the coin counting. It is possible we could have lost it even though I am very meticulous about saving receipts. When we got home and opened the package, the toy was not working. We thought the batteries were dead so I went to Shoppers Drugmart nearby to buy the 4 LR44 batteries required. They cost $7.99 each, for a total of about $24.00. Not feasible to spend $24.00 to replace batteries on a $12.00 toy. I called ToysRus to see if we can get a replacement or credit. The person who answered the phone said that without a receipt I can get an instore credit, not a refund. He transferred me over to Logan to see if there are more in stock. Logan asked me a whole bunch of questions, eg. what time today did I buy it, did I check to see if batteries were inserted incorrectly, did I try changing the batteries, asked for the name of the toy about 2 or three times, said he could not find it in the data base. Was reluctant to give a credit, said that an instore credit is like a refund. He took my first and last name, phone number and said he will check the stock again and call me back in a few minutes. After waiting for an hour, I called ToysRus again. Told the agent that I spoke to Logan around 4pm , said he will call me back in a few minutes. He remembered my earlier call and said that they dont give credits on clearance items. I will check the Dollar Store tomorrow for batteries. Hopefully the batteries are the problem. My experience at the Mayfair toys r us was very nice last weekend. I came looking for a gift for my granddaughter and a very nice young lady was so helpful. I found everything I was looking for and more. Kassidy was her name I believe she is very good at her job, showing me where everything was, also gave me gift ideas. She has a very welcoming smile, you can tell she is very passionate about her job. It was a very lovely and welcoming and pleasant experience with her and the rest of the staff.

I like the experience every time I come here with my family. I wish there are more selections for kids between 5 to 9 years of age. Learning games from vtech or leapfrog will be great.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Kyleen was able to help my son pick one toy from the bunch that we've shortlisted. It would have been a disaster if it wasn't for her since he was indecisive and wanted all the toys. I'd definitely drop by here again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Customer Service is Amazing!! Ellie helped me today and she was absolutely wonderful! She was very helpful and Kind, i don’t usually write reviews but she was just the best, I will definitely be coming back!

I have been so frustrated with Toysrus. 5 of my online orders have been cancelled this season.I tried to resolve an issue through chat and got a very rude customer service agent who cut off my chat! I tried again and was put in touch with Ariane... who is an employee at this store. She was phenomenal!She sorted out my issue (a price adjustment) and went above and beyond by refunding my shipping too! She was pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable and a super person to deal with! She took my stress level from a 10 down to a 1!I may not be thrilled with the company overall, but Ariane has renewed my faith that great customer service is still out there! It really made all the difference and I cannot express enough how much I appreciate her assistance! Well done, Ariane!I also sent a complaint to head office about the rude employee and attached Ariane's chat as an example of how things SHOULD be done! Thank you again, Ariane!

I had a great experience with TJ and Kayla yesterday on purchasing a strollerBut after I bought the stroller I was told that I could go pick it after 5pm when the store was already closed .So I went to the toys r us pick area and no answered my call or text . I was told at least 3 times no problem you can pick up the stroller today. I was not impressed I was lied to at 3 times . I want compensation and I want to speak to a manager

Lemme tell you about Ariane, absolutely awesome! So I actually live in Saint John Nb, but this evening I placed an order for my son's Christmas gift, and the site over charged me for shipping, by A LOT. Ariane was available quickly on the online chat. She cancelled my order and had me pay even less than was originally stated for my shipping. At the end of the day, she had saved me over half of what I was originally charged. I realize not everyone is on board with technology helping to do these jobs, but the customer service I received tonight was very human. Do what you can to keep Ariane in your store. I know here on the east coast I would be happy to have her locally
