I’ve been consistently ordering from SPUD for 4 years.
I don’t know who’s running this company now, but it has really gone downhill.
I’ve been shorted many times, and when we are on vacation, my house sitter has emptied my bins. House sitter just put stuff away, not knowing if what I’ve ordered is all there, OR, the wrong thing has been sent.
Now they have a policy that photos must be submitted of wrong or damaged items, but just discovered ( too late by a day ) that the vanilla yogurt I ordered, is plain, not vanilla.
My fault, I guess for not scrutinizing the fine print.
As with everything these days, prices have soared, and the sales are rarely for meat and seafood.
Up until now, I’ve loved SPUD, but my friends tell me there are many better delivery service options out there.
Oh, and now a minimum of $150.spent for free delivery.

There are easier and less expensive ways of ordering local/organic/etc grocery delivery. In my experience, the delivery window for Spud changes throughout the day so if you need to be home to receive the order, plan on not going out that day. Prices are typically a bit more expensive than Whole Foods and the quality can sometimes be underwhelming for the price. Billing practices are a bit odd as mentioned in other reviews. If you’re looking for a good value produce box in Greater Victoria, check out the Fernwood Community Centre’s Good Food Box program.

More than once I've waited up for a delivery that says it's coming but doesn't. And yet they changed the status to delivered and charged me. I had to follow up, they did not reach out, and when I did they offered re-delivery 3 days after the original or credit. Unfortunately I want the refund and to not try again. I love the local concept, but for an essential commodity - food, it should be more reliable. Plus when prices are higher than those at Whole Foods it's just not feasible to maybe have groceries, maybe not, often with items missing or damaged.

I highly recommend SPUD for your grocery delivery. We chose SPUD because they value people over profit and they provide a wonderful customer service. The products are local, fresh, organic and they partner with great local bakeries for extra treats! The meats are well packaged with dry ice keeping them cold until we get home to open our delivery. They provide bins and they use temperature control bags for produce and they re-use it ALL. Give them a try, we especially like the subscription produce boxes.

Amazing customer service, always friendly, ready to help. Refund policies first class. Good selection of organic and or hormone, antibiotic free.

They don't have enough drivers to keep up with the demand probably because they don't pay appropriately, 15$ an hour, are they hiring teenagers?
