Wow, has Moores ever gone downhill. I used to think of them as a good option for dress clothes—now, I see them as a lazy outlet using a recognizable name to siphon as much money as they can.
As with most negative things, my gripes with Moores come in three.
1) I went in to rent a prescribed suit for a friend's wedding, as I was part of the wedding party. I was measured, paid for the rental, then went on my merry way. Turns out, bad thing #1 had happened without my realizing: they didn't explain a single thing about their rental terms to me while I was there. A friend of mine was doing the same thing as me, and I think they found it sufficient to explain the terms and conditions once... despite the fact I wasn't in earshot.
2) When I went to pick up the suit, no one else was in the store and the employees were doing inventory. I let them know I was picking up a rental, and was asked to wait for "the rental guy" to finish something up. After waiting 10 minutes, I asked what was taking so long. Another employee went to go get The Guy... again. A few minutes later, he showed up with the suit. I tried it on aaand—bad thing #2—it didn't fit. It was too long in the leg and too small of a shirt. It felt like they hadn't actually measured me and just guessed at my size.
3) I returned the suit 3 days after the wedding. The groom and another groomsman asked if I could return theirs too, so I had 3 suits to bring back. I got to the store and—bad thing #3—was told it would be $20 per day, per suit, in late fees. Yes, I'm (now) aware that the drop-off date is indicated on the receipt, so shame on me for not reading the fine print or assuming they wanted to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. Seeing as how no one explained ANYTHING—let alone the late fees—when I picked it up, I asked if there was anything that could be done. The manager told me she could reduce the late fee to $10 per day, per suit, saying I "must have been told" about it beforehand. Here's the thing, though. It was HER that rented it to me, and HER that didn't read out any of the terms.
So, all in all, I had to pay $140+tax for a shirt, pants, suspenders, socks, and shoes that didn't fit me (for four days), and $90+tax for returning the suits late, when no one explained the terms to me. Oh, and I guess I should be thanking them for not charging me more, too.
If you need a suit, go literally anywhere else. I'd say this was just a hiccup from the Victoria location, but I also went in downtown Vancouver recently, and was met with the rudest French woman there, manhandling me to "teach" another employee, and explaining that my opinions were wrong.
Moores is simply a dying brand, looking to make the most money they can from the name before it's gone. Shop elsewhere.

I am not someone who enjoys fancy and dress shopping, being a barrel chested, and tall human. Laurence was fantastic, funny, gave me oodles of options, and made me feel comfortable shopping for an attire I'm not used to. The options for larger taller men is surprising, and I had many things to choose between. Great experience, and I will be coming back.
Also Marisa was very helpful at the front desk as well. Thank you, Moores, and thank you, Laurence and Merisa =)

The rentals look like a hybrid of a serving tux and a clown suit.
Was given different information from different staff members.

Rachel was absolutely AMAZING! Would give 100 stars if I could! Honestly the best customer service I've ever received. Please give her a raise immediately!
*additionally, on 2nd visit was double-serviced by Rachel and Emily, both of whom knocked it out of the park! You have some amazing employees!

Was in a couple times over the last couple weeks for both clothes and shoes. Lawrence, Adi and Marisa were all very helpful and informative. Will definitely be coming again! Really appreciate how they are open late so you can stop by after your 9-5!

Rachel helped me find a suit for my wedding. She was very kind and knowledgeable while providing me with a few hand selected options to try on. The store was also baby friendly and had no issues with us bringing our daughter in and changing her diaper in the change room. Thank you for your help Rachel!

As I manager in the retail industry. Shawn gave me a 10/10 service. I spent 8x what I went in for but couldn't be happier. He helped me shop and before I knew it had a full suit that fitted perfectly.I created a mess and was so fussy with each item so please Invest in that guy cause patience and genuine positive customer service is hard to come by. Promote that guy, give him access to more training and you'll have a guy climbing a ladder pretty quick

I was convinced to come along to help my partner find a suit, and thought I would be bored going to a men’s suit store. It turned out to be very fun trying to find the perfect suit for him! Shaun was excellent in assisting us to find the perfect suit. We were both really impressed by his customer service; professional, attentive, and offering great but honest suggestions. His understanding for finding the correct sizing, harmonious colours, and shoe fit made it easy to put together a well fitting and smart looking suit. We both agreed it was great to feel so comfortable with a salesperson, his exceptional customer service skills are a rarity nowadays. Shaun needs a raise ??

I had a very great experience from Moores Clothing located at Uptown. Team lead Shaun helped me to find the right suit and was very patient all through my selection process. And all othe staff has been very supportive as well.
