Who needs to buy lights at 8.30 am? This is Victoria open hours. Closed at 5. Doesn't even give those who work regular working hours an hour to shop after work. You guys do know you work in retail don't you? Yet another Victoria business set up to provide for all the retired people here with no regard for those who work.

We have been to McLaren a few times in the past for light fixtures, LED lights, and light bulbs. Their store on Douglas is easy to access, bright, modern, and cheerful. Their products are of good quality, prices are reasonable, and the number of lights on display is impressive. Even though most times we visited the store it was rather busy, we had prompt, well-informed, and knowledgeable assistance from George who has been very helpful. Once, they did not have the product we were interested in, but they made an effort to locate it, and called us when it was available. We are pleased with their services, and will continue to patronize McLaren. Highly recommended.

Knowledgeable staff & lots of selection. If they don't have a particular bulb, they'll often send you to a retailer that stocks it.George came up with an excellent design the track lighting for our studio that took into consideration our needs. Months later, he took the time to find an ingenious solution to an unusual lighting challenge (a backlit silkscreen washout booth). And it was discounted ;-)

Their selection is great. It’s just too bad that nobody is willing to help you, or even acknowledge you as a customer.I was there for almost 40 minutes today and not one person made eye contact or said hello. There were five staff on the floor: 1 staff member was helping a customer, one was at the front desk processing an order - and then did nothing after it was finished, one was running interference with stock and two were glued to their computers.At least four other customers received the same treatment while I was there. I was fully prepared to buy 5 fixtures, but decided to leave and take my business elsewhere due to poor customer service.

Clerk was initially helpful but then abandoned me to serve other customers. I had items at counter plus was picking out something else when I was left high and dry. As there were other clerks sitting and chatting, I could have been transferred to one of them or my clerk could have asked one of them to help new customers. I walked out without purchasing my items so, they lost me as a customer today and in future. As well as my “two friends”.Follow up: manager messaged me within a day asking me to contact him, which I did. He was very apologetic and appreciative of my review.

Writing this for a friend and I witnessed it first hand. He spends $2500 on lights and they won't allow him access their washrooms. If it were me, i would have cancelled my order right then and there. Not cool.

Every single time i have gone in there i have had to seek out a salesperson. And its an expensive place where you spend lots of money but they won’t let you use the bathroom. Not shopping there again.

I have dealt with your company a couple of times now for small orders of LED puck lights and I just have to say, Berthila is amazing. Her cheerful manor is second to none and very professional. When she says she is going to do something (follow up) she does…I have 26 staff and would take a dozen of her work ethics any day.Thank you for the great service.

After buying a new house and having our fancy light fixtures removed unexpectedly before moving in (it was devastating), we needed many new fancy lights. Rob @ McLarens was amazing and really really made a difference for our home. Very patient and helpful with all our requests. He helped us tremendously and we will be buying all our lighting needs from McLaren lighting from now on.

I went to McLaren lightning in an effort to support local, I was aware they were more expensive than home depot and other big brands, but was under the impression their customer service was excellent. I purchased 3 lights, 1 light failed withing weeks. I had to pay an installation fee, then pay to have it removed. The McLaren team offered to replace the unit (about $100), I already had to pay $150 in labor to get it installed then removed. Now I have to pay to install another one... Very disappointing service, I would advice to go to home depot or Lowe's. I always prioritize local, but given they have a higher price with the same service as the big brands I'll have to go and get the replacement in home depot :(
