Quaint little store located near Oak Bay, very clearly catering inventory and goods to the types of folk that live in Oak Bay.
Very friendly staff, seemed to have a lot of regulars who come in and chat.
Super cool collection of vintage furniture and knickknacks, but upon driving down from Langford to see what was available and walking in, I knew I had spent more on gas than I would on anything in the store.
TL;DR cute store but not much in it for anyone under 60

Love this store. Different things every time most of the things are reasonably priced. Staff is nice I have spent thousands of dollars there.

Good prices on most items. Sales benefit the local community and not some large organization.

I am extremely disappointed with my family’s recent experience at Good Things. After we dropped off some of my late grandmother's china for consignment, my mom returned at the end of the 60-day consignment period only to be treated with utter disrespect by three female employees. We only got the name of one, which was Caitlin. These employees were unfriendly from the start. This is the experience with these 3 women staff only and not any other staff of this business.
The agreement had been for us to have any unsold items returned after 60 days, but these three staff members insisted, to the point of rudeness and dismissiveness, that the items had already been picked up. They had not been, but since the staff could not find them in the back storage area, they insisted they had been picked up and repeatedly asked, "What do you want from us? What do you want us to do to make you happy?” My family wanted our china back, but they just kept insisting it had already been picked up and initialed for. The initials that they were referring to were actually for four plates that had not been accepted for consignment.
These 3 staff were completely uninterested in listening to her, dismissing her and walking away, leaving her standing in the middle of the shop with other customers looking on. No offer of referring the matter to someone else, or looking again in the storage area. At no point was an apology provided by any of these three staff members, who had behaved so unprofessionally and insisted my mom had already claimed the box, when she had not. Having to request an apology really loses its appeal. My mom asked if there was not a record of the items dropped off, to which the staff replied, “Why would we record items we were not going to keep?” Perhaps in the future, more careful record-keeping is advised.
After my uncle emailed and left a voicemail, Emma (another, polite staff member, who was looking to figure out what happened), informed us that our box of china was in fact discovered, still in its box, in the storage room—it had never been put out for sale. Emma admitted that an error had happened, and asked if we would like to consign again for another 60 days.
It is not even the fact that a mistake was made by the store that is at issue for us —mistakes happen. The heart of the issue was the completely unprofessional way my mom was treated in the store, especially given that she had not already picked up the box. But the three employees only kept saying, “What do you want us to do?” My mom wanted them to listen when she said she did not pick up the box. No one offered to search further, look into it, or try to be helpful. Despite the already emotionally challenging task of consigning my grandmother’s belongings, these staff showed no kindness or professionalism.
I am not surprised to see that there are several reviews stating that others have had similarly negative and unfriendly experiences at this store. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and left us deeply upset during an already difficult time. For not being believed, dismissed and what felt like being abandoned, and no apology from those who had been dismissive and accusatory that it was picked up. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through such a negative experience at this store.

Quality consignments at this shop. Curated selection of high-quality quality decor, housewares, and etc. Not your average thrift store junk.

Upmarket consignment shop with great furniture and households (kitchen) items. Now open 7-days a week.
Takes consignment on Tuesdays. Easily accessible at Oak Bay Avenue and Chamberlain Street.
Good selection of memorabilia (usually), collectible, and dishware to the left as you enter the store.
As ways a nice stop to peruse what they have in stock.e
Right now there's a gorgeous red Chinese desk and chair set - regular $1200, now $1000 - really nice! ?

Walked in there today and there were a few people mulling around . 4 or 5 different staff looked and me and no “ hellos” or “ let me know if you want to see anything.” Very strange atmosphere in there . Lots of Knick knacks , cups and saucers. Better luck on marketplace. Will not be back

Today was my first time leaving items to consign. I was a little nervous based on some of the reviews about staff rudeness and consigning difficulties. My experience couldn't have been better. Yes, I had to circle for a while to get a parking space but that isn't their fault really. It' a busy area with parking challenges all around. The staff were very friendly, experienced, and efficient. There was a bit of a line but not a long wait at all. I will definitely consign more items in the future.
