Went to the black goat, cashmere clothing store just before Christmas to look for a sweater for our adult son. The merchandise is very appealing and appears to be a high-quality. The sales person was very helpful and shared all the different styles. The sweater was about $1000 sowill wait to purchase till it can be tried on in person as a return would be difficult from out of province.

Rude staff will make you lose business.I went in this store on Christmas eve and after inquiring to an employee what I was looking for, they looked me up and down and asked in a condescending way “what’s your budget?”I will not be going back, and have told family and friends not to shop here as well.

My second shopping experience here was lovely. Lindsey helped me pull together a few beautiful styles! The soft pleasure of a cashmere sweater & skirt is a beautiful thing! And the scarf designs stunning!

Downright stuffy and unpleasant store.And for gods sake, don’t touch anything.Large pass. Way better places to spend $800 on prickly cashmere.

Went in on Boxing Day to exchange a gift and it was made VERY clear there are no exchanges on Boxing Day, NO exceptions (even though two staff members were both able to take the time to make this clear to us, so it wasn’t because they were too busy!)The products are gorgeous and a regular gift item…but this time I was made to feel that I was too tall for the item I was interested in (same height as the model wearing them on the website!) and, despite being a size 6, was insisted that I get a Large or XL. So, basically, too tall and too fat for this store.I have yet to do the exchange but am dreading going back and won’t ever go again once it’s done. Quality items just aren’t enough retain a customer if you leave feeling miserable.

I bought an oversize sweater over five years ago. At first, I thought maybe I spent too much on it. But it is so comfortable! It's the first thing I put on in the morning, and I wear it constantly at my house; I take it travelling and always wear it on the plane. It is become my favourite sweater to live in. And with all that wear, it is still washed and looks excellent—the most comfortable cherished item in my closet.

Senior staff members mock passersby, would not reccomend.I'd like to add that this store is NOT LGBTQ+ friendly, and has proven so with its treatment of staff and customers alike.

Great shopping experience! Today when I put on the beautiful top I recently purchased at Black Goat, I was reminded of what a great shopping experience I have had there over the years. I have been in the store many times, some times just to browse, some times to purchase. The staff is very knowledgeable about all that is offered and they take great pride in being part of a business that is committed to selling garments and accessories made only of the finest cashmere. I also appreciate that the staff are attentive, courteous and extremely thoughtful in their feedback of what works for me and what doesn't. I have bought a number of garments from the Victoria store and they are all beautifully made and very high quality.

If you are interested in excellent high quality cashmere, Black Goat fits that category to a T! I have built a fabulous wardrobe around several of their basic styles in coats, sweaters, skirts, the odd wrap and even socks! I couldn’t be happier! Black Goat adds new colour palettes every year and hence, the selection of items grows yearly! The silk and cashmere line is one of my favourites so am able to wear my purchases year round. I looove the staff who are all very knowledgeable about their product; they are very experienced in retail etiquette and personal service. Jill, the manager, is a real Gem! Truly one of Victoria’s finest stores!!

I absolutely LOVE this store. Over the years I have accumulated a number of pieces from this lovely store and I can't say enough about them. Unique and classic pieces of the highest quality that always get compliments when worn!In addition, the experience when visiting this store is second to none. Friendly and knowledgable staff that help you find that perfect item (or two or three... :)) always make this a fun and enjoyable stop. So lovely to have a quality store in Victoria. Gorgeous and high quality. All my sweaters, skirt and leggings are in the same shape as they were when I first purchased - and that's years later! Best cashmere that I have found. Staff are wonderful!! You will enjoy your shopping experience here!
