DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! They rate their book sellers PURELY on completion rate, allowing sellers to COMPLETELY LIE about book condition. It's all money in their GREEDY pockets!

Their service is quite OK, and products are good. Just remember it's third-party seller. You should check the first seller whether it's okay or not. And then wait for nearly a month. A good bookstore, only one defect is that they reply too slowly.

Don't order books online from this bookseller.
They are a third party vendor taking orders for other bookstores, and knowingly misrepresent the shipping and final cost of the book. That's what happened to me. A day after ordering the book, I was told that the shipping price was TRIPLE the cost I was quoted.
When I emailed to make this right, they said that there's fine print somewhere on the website stating that they can change the shipping price of the books after purchase. This seems shady or lazy (or both), as the book didn't get bigger or heavier after purchase. Wouldn't it make sense to simply quote the actual shipping cost so that the consumer can make an informed decision?
Both Abe Books and the book seller knew the book was oversided when I purchased it. When I asked them both to make it right, I was simply told that I could pay three times the price quoted, or cancel the order.
I consider this a fraudulent business practice and certainly misrepresentation of costs associated with a purchase.
They could have worked with their book seller, and chose not to. They also can provide honest pricing on shipping, but don't.
Be cautious.

Imagine book buying from Amazon or eBay without any quality control, buyer protections, or customer service, and you'll have a good idea of Bait and Switch Books (aka AbeBooks). Sellers sends the wrong book? Seller sends a damaged book? Seller is fradulent? It all doesn't really matter because AbeBook will do zilch about it. I've been collecting books for more than 30 years and, I won't touch these slugs with long-handled tools and a face shield.

Customer service is non-existent. Unable to talk to them on the phone. I have sent multiple emails to Abebooks and the seller of a book. I have been waiting months for a refund. No refund. I will never again buy a book through this company.

If you still like the feel and smell of an actual book instead of a Kindle, this is the site for you. The prices are amazingly cheap. Great communication via email and prompt free delivery. There is no other online used bookseller this easy. I adore competence; they have it.

A company in Victoria, BC sells a book to a customer in Vancouver BC and charges US dollars, thereby earning a 17% surcharge. This and all the other scams they pull? Beware of these guys.

I ordered a "new" art book on October 12th and paid for priority shipping. The book was to arrive within 10 days. It wasn't even shipped for 10 days. The book arrived on the 12th business day. The book is clearly not new. It is corner worn and actually stamped as belonging to Joseph A. Cain, Chairman Art Department, Del Mar College, in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was also horribly packaged with the book exposed inside of a piece of cardboard just wrapped around it. A used copy of this book costs $10, this "new" one was $65. I requested a refund, and asked for them to pay for return shipping.I received a response to my return request through their automated system telling me to return the book at my cost. I'm not paying to send it back. It's not what I ordered.Tonight they just canceled my return request saying I'd requested that. I didn't. This company is a scam. I'm taking it back to the post office, refusing delivery and contacting my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau today.

I paid extra for the priority shipping 1-5 days. It's been well over that timeframe . I will not be a returning customer.

This company used to be Canadian, with its head office in Victoria, BC. Now, however, it has been purchased by Amazon, which is running it into the ground. It's so sad that such a huge (almost) monopoly has to destroy its competition.

Don't care about customers enough to bother to help. Their excuse is they are too big. I will never buy from them again.
