So happy to live around the corner from this gem. The owner and staff are so friendly, they are constantly improving their inventory and their food is tasty and actually affordable. Not to mention a great selection of baked goods!!

Different Name, Same Crappy Service.Nestled at the corner of East Georgia and Gore St in the heart of Chinatown the place used to be called Larry's, which was horribly managed! The whole staff felt abused, taken advantage of, and treated poorly by the management. And when products would be missing from the shelf due to logistics or poor management the Manager would blame the part-time staff.They have revamped the place and the place is much more stocked. It has a nice look to it and a good selection of food at the cafe bar. But the management hasn't gotten any better. If you walk there in the morning expect the service to be slow from only having one poor associate behind the bar who has to make cappuccinos, prepare food, work the cash machine, take the orders, etc, all by themselves while one of the Managers is walking around the grocery area and a line up of customers piling up at the Cafe area. When I asked for a smoothie the associate gave a little eye-roll because I added another task that would delay the speed of service. It got so bad that after 15 minutes of waiting, and a lineup that was nearly out the door, the Manager finally had to come to help. He also needed to holler at the guy working in the kitchen to come help. It is NOT the associate's fault that service was slow but who ever does the scheduling and the Manager who was slow to come to help the poor kid. You would think that during peak hours they would have 2-3 associates behind the bar.When my order asked for protein in the smoothie the Manager told the associate, in a gentle but firm manner, that it was an extra charge. The Manager prepares my smoothie after waiting 20 minutes for it and just hands it over to me saying "Your smoothie" in a tone that almost sounded resentful, maybe because I didn't get charged the extra .25 cents (or whatever it is) for the scoop of protein powder, or that I ordered a smoothie. Instead of thanking me for my patience and spending my money in the place, the guy just walks away. And the smoothie wasn't even that great when I tried it.

Was standing waiting for my turn & the guy working there went & helped someone else, who so obviously came after me. That other customer ordered 3 sandwiches and had all of them grilled, so I couldn’t even grill mine because I was in a rush. I was seething. Horrible service. Won’t be back.

Giving this place 1 star. After meekly and politely asking if there was anything vegan (there wasn’t) the cashier told me to “maybe order water.” Which is completely unnecessary, unprovoked and rude considering they have vegan products in the market and their cafe has vegan milks. As someone that has been a barista and cashier previously I think there may be some extra training needed for these employees. Try just saying “sorry no, we unfortunately cannot accommodate your dietary restrictions”
