This is where I go, albeit a bit pricey, to buy an excessive amount of ketchup chips to smuggle back home to the US. It's nonsensical why we don't have them in the states. This place does, entonces it's the place to shop!

Very big, huge. It is like fun time walking and shopping. Free Parking. Many items. Very clean. Very polite employees. Bright light. Coffee shop inside. Like all Safeway high quality items. Moderate prices. Sales always happens. I love Safeway.

I dump a couple hundred bucks a week in here on account of its proximity to my home. The staff are...not particularly helpful or friendly, and God help you if you should have to use the washroom as they're absolutely stinking and filthy every time. The escalators don't work about half the time, and the meat department leaves something to be desired. They frequently leave out meats that are...not presentable to be sure. That said, when you get something from the butcher's counter, it's pristine and cut to perfection.
You pay a premium to shop here, so I feel like they ought to be able to do a little better on things like the bathrooms.

Everything is entirely unremarkable. Neither bad nor great, but steadily getting worse over the years I have been shopping here. It is rare for more than two checkouts to be open. Fruit is frequently mouldy and must be checked frequently. Much of the packaged food is imports from countries with questionable food safety standards. Only by the dismal reality that there are only two equally awful corporations behind all the major grocery stores and everywhere else being as bad or worse do I continue to shop here.

Beyond insane store layout. Products are distributed just about randomly now, for example, rice is over 4 different aisles, same with tea. There is some new nonsense division about "world food" which doesn't make any sense either, as about half the products are from abroad. Giving up coming at this store.
