Roldorf is one of those rare stores that blends fantastic products with outstanding service. I came across this store whilst in Gastown, it looks unassuming from the outside. However, once you open the door you’re greeted by Mary and her team who pull out all the stops to make you feel welcome and most importantly find the watch you’re looking for!

I have never seen a watch shop like this one. It is incredibly dimly lit so it looks like it might be closed from the outside. You ring a doorbell to go in and a dog barks at you. I like dogs, so that is fine with me. Once we went in we were greeted by two guys. I had 3 friends with me, one who knew nothing about watches at all and kept asking one guy some questions, actually some good questions, like how the water ratings work for watches, etc. I was paying close attention to how he answered and he was incredibly knowledgable. I expected him to kinda BS my friend with easily understood answers to quickly end the conversation. That did not happen. He explained things in detail, and elaborated when needed. It was clear he knows a lot about watches and how the industry works.
While that employee was dealing with him, another employee was helping me and another friend look at some watches. They had some really interesting preowned stuff. I looked at an Orion Hellcat, which is a microbrand made by a guy who used to mod seikos. They explained any watch is either covered by its manufacturer warranty still, or they provide a 2 year warranty.
None of us were actually here to buy watches. We just wanted to check out the store. We were not pressured into looking at stuff, or anything like that, which I really appreciate. I go to a LOT of watch shops and this was a truly unique experience. The two people working were clearly knowledgable and passionate about watches.
Before I visited the location I had viewed their website. It was up to date with what they had in person. I feel like having "independent horologists" as a slogan is kinda weird and feels. pretentious. However in store it felt more like a hobbyist workshop than a store, and I think that is what they wanted.
Overall I think this is a neat store. You can see their stock online before you stop in, even the preowned was up to date. The prices are what you expect for a brick and mortar shop in Vancouver. You can get better deals online, but if you are going to a watch shop like this, I imagine you already know that and you are going here to support a pretty neat business.

I recently brought a vintage quartz watch, that had stuttered to a stop, in for repair. Ultimately, the watch was unsalvageable without considerable work, but I truly appreciate the extensive diagnostic performed by the staff, which I was not charged for. Top notch!

From consideration, to purchase, to delivery, Roldorf & Co was the best experience I've had in terms of a pre-owned watch purchase.
I worked with Jason, who is a very knowledgeable watchmaker as well as with Mary, who made every step of the process easy for me even from across the country. Everything arrived promptly and as promised.
They certainly set the highbar for honesty and customer service. I highly recommend them.

The team at Roldorf is spectacular. I sent them a vintage family heirloom watch and they were able to do great things with it while preserving all the charm (and at a reasonable price). Highly recommended for any watch enthusiast to stop by.

Not only you can get your watch repaired and maintained and you are also getting professional advices. They sells unique collections of second hand watches in wonderful condition as well.

I can't recommend Roldorf & Co. enough. Top notch customer service, great vibes in store, and great watchmaking expertise.
Brodie swapped an old movement out of my SKX013 and also installed a new signed crown. The work was top notch and I couldn't be happier!
The shop itself is a watch enthusiasts' dream. Jason, Mary and Brodie are all a treat to chat with. They have a great selection of watches from brands that I love. I could spend hours in there.
Will be back again every time I am in Vancouver.

Estefania was so nice and helpful, she ended up recommending the watch that ultimately fit best on my smaller wrist. Mary was absolutely lovely and even let me try on her personal watch to compare. I especially loved the warm, inviting atmosphere of the shop. You could tell these are people that are passionate about what they do, and I couldn’t help but leave with that same enthusiasm about my choice.
